I think he just jumped to conclusions. He sees DumbDog go left, directly toward where the body shortly ends up being. Steve and Kara's footprints look the same, so he doesn't realize it's Steve's footprints coming from the body, he thinks it's just more of Kara's moving around. Unclear where DumbDog could have gone without leaving more footprints, but he probably didn't think that far ahead in the spur of the moment
He says there are 7 different shades of the same color in the lobby, talks about it being one of the reds instead of Dumbdog. It's pretty clear that he is colorblind. To me, it's shocking I've never learned this until now.
Is 5up really color blind? Because I Imagine that would make tracking people by slightly different shades so much harder, and makes it really impressive when he actually does it accurately.
