Have a model 74 Jamomatic. Amazingly accurate comfortable to carry and shoot. Did have a jamming problem. Was really clean hardly ever used when I got it. So after cleaning and checking everything came down too I had to cut a little bit off The recoil spring. Problem fixed. I spray the heck out of mine when I'm done with it. Used to use WD-40 went to spray on silicone lubricant. Cancel silicone watches it out then when it dries it doesn't attract dust but it's still lubricates really well. Now I just squirt little blaster in it when I'm done. I have some French FMJ early fifties machine gun 30-06 ammo. Man that stuff is hot and that rifle just loves it shoots like a dream using it.
That Remington 7400 and 270 was the first deer rifle I ever got and is by far one of the best extremely accurate plenty of knock down power super flat trajectory. One of my first kills ever made I was 16 and shot a massive 43 lb coyote at 400 Yd. I really do love that rifle
Khalid Akkad not exactly,in most of the countries the regulations don’t are too much of a problem, look at finland, sweeden and argentina, they don’t have really permissive laws BUT they have really strong hunting cultures
My dad passed away about 5 years ago. He would always hunt deer with his Marlin model 25M chambered in .22 mag. Between him and my older brother they kill countless deer with that rifle, and that is the rifle I killed my first deer with at about 75 yards when I was 7years old. After he passed away I inherited his rifle. Her in Virginia it is illegal to hunt deer with anything smaller than .23 cal but he did it anyway. I don't hunt deer with it now that I'm older and know it's illegal but it can sure bust some squirrels. Awesome stories guys. I thought I would share one of mine.
I got a 22 mag too. Ruger M77 all weather with boat paddle stock. Was my grandpas who passed last year. Sucks ammo is so dame expensive for it though. Paid 15 bucks for a box of fifty the other day
James Avery that's what it was before 2012 ban. It was routinely $13 where I am. Online places like Palmetto State Armory run lots of sales on .22 Mag though. Seems they can't get rid of it now.
Stylin' and Racially Profilin' that's why my great grandaddy shot jumpers with a .22short! no C.O. gunna here a short goin off and a deer would feed the family for a couple weeks. just gotta hit em in the right spot. mind ya when he was doin that it was in the dirty 30's.
All wonderful examples. I harvested my first 3 deer with a Marlin 30AS .30-30.. My father had a 742 .30-06 given to him by mother their first Christmas together. The custom leather sling on it had 52 notches in it representing 52 LEGAL deer killed with it. 😜 And his father had a 7400 .270 that's still practically brand new. Trying to talk my uncle into letting my buy it. We've bought and sold several Remington 700's. Need to put another back in my collection. I'm a bit surprised you guys didn't include a 870, but I'm certainly not disappointed. Great video. Love your work. 👍🏼😊
In germany almost every hunter owns a K98 with a hunting stock, it's almost like you're not a hunter in germany if you don't have a K98. Not to say that the K98 is a bad gun, in fact it is one of the best rifles ever designed and the rifle, on which the most WW2 rifles and modern rifles are based upon. It is just the fact that you can't not own one if you live in germany as a hunter.
As I understand it and you may correct me if I'm wrong. The 8mm Mauser cartridge is as much of a go to cartridge in Germany as the 30-06 is here in the US. BTW I love my non sporterized 98K!
Michael Durham indeed it is, in general what they call "german" or "European" cartridges (the ones like 8x57, 7x64, 9.3x62, etc. are more popular than the American cartridges(everything with a point in the beginning like .308, .416, etc.)). In Luxembourg on the other hand (where i come from), most hunters use modern guns, mostly chambered in .30-06.
As cool as some new guns are , their is something very special about the gun we shot as kids! Traditional wood checkered stocks and blued barrels are like an art form and I see beauty in them! I passed my grandfathers gun down to my son that’s passed down 4 generations! Their are some things you just don’t sell! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
I prefer the older blue barreled and beautiful old walnut stocks. One of favorites I have in the safe is a Remington 760 GameMaster 30.06 with a Walnut Basket Weaved Stock
I grew up in the mountains of Appalachia, and my father taught me that you only need three guns: a 3030 for hunting deer, a 20 gauge for birds and rabbits, and a 12 gauge for everything else.
Had 5 doe in a customers yard this morning. Completely oblivious to the noise even after a broke out the Ramset 22 caliber nail gun to shoot some nails into the brick for electrical conduit. And i don’t even have the fancy one with the built-in suppressor I have the basic one that sounds like you’re shooting a Ruger 1022
When it comes to my local range, it consists of me shooting into a hollow formed behind my house, my neighbors don’t even complain about the noise anymore :D
A 30/30 ,a 22, and a 12gauge and the beautiful old 303british, And a 380.for your pocket,my gun cabinet! A suggestion for the goose gun a supresser like choke and a Arisaka anti aircraft sight!
I live in upstate NY so winter for me is less shooting and more acquiring/building firearms. 336 is on my list this winter. When I first got into firearms I hated everything about lever actions but 3 years in that's changed and a 336 is all I can think about. Maybe the most affordable lever action but to me it's one of the more superior lever actions, the Monte Carlo stock, side port ejection are all it took for me. The shape of the lever and a gold trigger are a huge bonus on the cosmetic side too.
This is unbelievably accurate. Dad had the same goose gun in the late 80’s. I remember sneaking that bad boy out the gun cabinet as a kid and feeling like I could shoot the moon. Lol Thanks for.the memories! Great video!
"Don't-chu use the R word on live youtube!! Only we can use the R word." - God Bless you guys. Keep up the good work. And watch out for those sneaky Canadians, ' they're taken all the joaaaaabs!"
Negative I have a remington model 742 woodmaster with the monte carlo stock 30-06 it's next to brand new with great care taken of it. Its taken a many of deer. My grandpa bought it new and my father passed it down to me. I wouldn't take 1 million cash for it right now. I'm from forest park and have lived on stockbridge since 3rd grade. Ive been buying guns at moss since 2004 when I turned 21. Hell I installed the salt system on Mr mosses pool years back. I've talked to both of yall and yall have sold me a many of guns. You'd recognize me if you saw me. But yall aint never there no more
This list is an abomination. 1) the cheapest rifle you can buy chambered in 30-06 2) sawed off shotgun 3) ridiculously large handgun for day carry 4) ar pistol 5) 1887 modified like in T2.
I went on a shooting trip once with a few friends as a teenager(I was like 17 or 18) and the guy that brought most tht guns had, what I'm now thinking is one of those goose guns. I got bored hitting double clays with the pump, so I set off trying to hit doubles with the bolt. After a day, I was eventually able to get it! So I'm going to have to pick one up now!
I have to say, I have every gun on that list ( but no crazy calibers)but the goose gun. But my friend's dad squirrel hunted with on. I told him that he may as well use a 105 howitzer.
Beautiful stocks on most of those guns. Can't seem to find that anymore. My first rifle (at age 8) was a 1974 Marlin Glenfield Model 60, and, living in southern Arkansas at the time (yes, I'm from the South) I killed hundreds of squirrels, rabbits, raccoons, opossums, etc. with that gun. My mother had a huge garden, and with all those critters, we didn't need to buy a whole lot of food.
My first gun was a Marlin Model 60 too lol, I loved that little thing. I killed hundreds of starlings and squirrels with it, it has a shitload of notches on the synthetic stock I put on it🤣. I still have it, but I don't shoot it as much as I should these days.
20 years ago...maybe a little more, gunwriter G. Sitton opined that 30-30 has probably taken more deer than all the other calibers put together. If he was wrong, it wasn't by much.
I picture a pheasant drive through 160 acres of corn stubble. All the younger guys and dogs walking the pheasants towards 6 or 8 grand dads that are " Blockers" waiting with thier 32 inch barrel " Long Tom" single shot shotguns. The pheasant fill the sky when they see the blockers. All the young guys blast away with thier 870s and 1100s. The grandpa wait til the boys are done, pull those old goose guns up and blast birds at 60 and 80 yards out. When it is over at least one grandpa is going to say" Sure wished them boys would learn to shoot!" And all the grandpas will laugh it up asthe dogs collect the birds.
I think this is my favorite video you guys have ever done. I have done some videos on the new $25 trail camera at Walmart. You guys should check that trail camera out. Pretty good for the money
In regards to the Marlin Goose Gun, when steel shot was mandated back in the 1980s, people thought that longer barrels were needed to help make it more effective. Many companies started offering longer barrels, Marlin had a pump gun with a thirty-six inch barrel!
Like they said on zombieland, " Thank God For Rednecks "! I would love to find a duffel bag full of guns like Woody did in that movie. But I was very impressed with this video.
I’ve got a Stevens 325b bolt action rifle chambered in 30-30 made in 1948 I believe. Found it in a pawnshop and had never seen a 30-30 bolt action so I scooped it up for around $300 out the door. Has a 4 shot detachable box magazine and has probably taken a lot of wild game in its day. It’s a very accurate rifle and in pretty good condition. Not something I shoot often but I love it and it’s one of my favorite rifles I have
Lev Mason You could call it that and I'm not offended. Cowboys worked hard in some very unpleasant environments and they wouldn't have carried it if it didn't work. I have a model 64 handle on mine to fit my big hands, fairly light, easy to carry, clean, never had a problem with it. I don't take very long shots and the iron sight work fine out to 75yrds. Mostly if it was a favorite of John Wayne its good enough for me! Lol

Mitch’s Madness that's a hillbilly gun of choice
'spensive. Pump is cheaper.
You guys prefer side by side or over under? I, for one, prefer over under, but you cast your votes.
Long barrel bolt action shotgun is double barrel 2.0
Trick Shot side by side its such a classic look especially with hammers oh doggy would to own one
You guys are standing? WOW. Thought yall were sitting.
I always thought so too, but I figured it out maybe 10 videos ago (that I watched, not that they produced).
right
ross vanderpoel same here, I was waiting on that gun to stop dropping.
i know right? lol
ross LOL ME TOO!
"get that sight outta here, i don't need that crap!"
xD
Now listen er' sunny, mah daddy done told me wen I was jus a little boi that "The longer ur barrel is the less distance ur gonna ave between you an' that god damn goose".
ZombiePlus 😄
Your dad was a hero
Um I believe that's called less lead, or to those fancy mathematicians, less compensation.
I've got a 336 with a straight stock in 44 mag. Love that old thing. I prefer my Winchester 92 in 44 mag, but I'll keep that Marlin forever as well.
Love my 44 mag Henry just wish it had the loading gate
The sporting SMLE is my favorite choice of the 6. Won 2 world wars and numerous small scale conflicts.
i think the "mystery production" .22 semiauto wouldve fit in pretty well on this list. hell, my grandmas got a .22 thats so used, all the stampings have been all but worn completely off. also, single-shot shotguns.
you dont even realize how many times i watch this episode. its on my top 10 vids i keep on the "im bored at work" playlist. keepthese coming i love them
I loved hearing the personal stories about these rifles.
Thanks for sharing.
They’re
They’re standing
I loved my Remington 742 and 7400! The 7400 was a 1 MOA gun at that.
My 308 742 is.i absolutely love it over my newer guns
Amen, Brother Fanatic.
I bought them but jamming is a real problem
Mine was the 7600 (pump action) in 270. I loved that gun!
Those stories about shooting as a kid makes me sad that i live in sweden
Robin Rako come to America. You could have so much fun
Dude i know how you feel fucking german gun laws
Montana is heaven on earth.... that is all.....
Robin Rako I'm sad that you live in Sweden. Come to Canada we can play hockey and fire off guns
Fuck ya! I live in Ontario. We love our guns!
Lever guns are by far my favorite out of anything I own. Just BARELY beating out my Enfields. So far I have a 30-30 Marlin and a 45-70 Henry.
America is the only gun hunting culture in the world today. Something to be real proud of!
RoastMaster64 To quote my grandpa, "It ain't illegal if you don't get caught"
If you're on private land it doesn't matter what caliber or method you use.
Stylin' and Racially Profilin'
that's why my great grandaddy shot jumpers with a .22short!
no C.O. gunna here a short goin off and a deer would feed the family for a couple weeks.
just gotta hit em in the right spot.
mind ya when he was doin that it was in the dirty 30's.
One single British tear rolled down my cheek after seeing the work of Bubba's hand to that SMLE.
All wonderful examples.
I harvested my first 3 deer with a Marlin 30AS .30-30..
My father had a 742 .30-06 given to him by mother their first Christmas together. The custom leather sling on it had 52 notches in it representing 52 LEGAL deer killed with it. 😜
And his father had a 7400 .270 that's still practically brand new. Trying to talk my uncle into letting my buy it.
We've bought and sold several Remington 700's. Need to put another back in my collection.
I'm a bit surprised you guys didn't include a 870, but I'm certainly not disappointed. Great video. Love your work. 👍🏼😊
When he laughed at the see through rings and thought about my 3x9 Leopold Remington 700 7mm mag
My first "high powered rifle" was a model 700 ADL in 30-06 with see thru rings and a Simmons 44 Mag scope.
I still find myself coming back to this video and being impressed he can actually riff on a banjo
Question, are the wafinants ground off or intact?
Andre Krumins It is a Russian Capture and yes the marks are intact. The Mfg or makers mark is 337 made in 1940.
Karbinger is one of my favorite bolt action rifles, along with the Mosin and the Enfield
"Military style [assault] sling"
TheMawsJawz TM they do sound scary hahaha
"It can make the gun fire at 10,000 rounds a second, and also has this thing that goes up."
Corinthian lmfao classic
I got a military style pre assault beer cozy. 🍺
Brad Yelich, cool, gonna try that.
Ohhhh fuck I'm dying that was the best opening in the world!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
The Remington 7600 pump in 30-06 is pretty much the standard deer rifle in Minnesota.
The fact that the Ruger 10/22 wasn’t even mentioned is deeply troubling.
Representing the Winchester '94 in 44 magnum here. My go-to deer rifle
Nice!
Hey I have one of those goose guns too... we should dual wield them haha.
TheGunCollective Hey, I know you. lol Hurry up and get another video out.
TheGunCollective I have one too with the barrel chopped to 18in but I still have to grind off that damn stupid rear sight thingy lol
TheGunCollective i have one and a savage bolt action 16 guage savage
I have a goose gun aswell.
Dueling Goose Guns? 😇
I grew up in the mountains of Appalachia, and my father taught me that you only need three guns: a 3030 for hunting deer, a 20 gauge for birds and rabbits, and a 12 gauge for everything else.
Probably still good advice. Classics that have stood the test of time.
That goose gun reminds me of the Buggs Bunny "Hillbilly Hare" episode... "Quit tyin' knots in ma rifle barrel!"
I lived in Jonesboro. Your deer population is dismal, Come to Pa if you want to see some deer.
Eric Johnson And north jersey
I have a freaking flock of massive doe in my front yard every morning.
Nah come to hoquiam wa every winter they roam the city streets and in wa if you roadkill you can take it
Bout and hour North in the Cartersville-Rome area is crawling with deer
Had 5 doe in a customers yard this morning. Completely oblivious to the noise even after a broke out the Ramset 22 caliber nail gun to shoot some nails into the brick for electrical conduit. And i don’t even have the fancy one with the built-in suppressor I have the basic one that sounds like you’re shooting a Ruger 1022
When I was a kid (born mid 60's) everyone had an old 03'Springfield and about two thirds of them were sporterized.
We all had mausers and enfields.
@@JefferyAshmore I remember seeing some of those also. I remember guys deer hunting with "British 303's
l am reminded of Deliverance, l click like button.
I enjoyed your banter, much improved, really entertaining to see you both have fun!
I’m confident that I can speak for all of us when I say we need a video on the goose gun
I have all five of these guns 😂
Lol
Same 😂
Where is the sks?
Mike Pace In the trashcan
Innawoods
random wood elf well said
Vic does gaming thanks
That's a commie rifle. Not made in 'merica!
You’ll never get rid of those old guns. Priceless
no Remington 870 , no Mossberg 500, no side by side double barrel 10 guage shotgun WTF?
I agree with the 870, I wont buy a 500 because it has a polymer trigger guard that is notorious for snapping, Maybe a 590 though
5:57 _"This gun has killed so many freakin deers, it's not even funny"_
When it comes to my local range, it consists of me shooting into a hollow formed behind my house, my neighbors don’t even complain about the noise anymore :D
Love you guys from California! Please continue to make this kind of video both informative and entertaining.
A 30/30 ,a 22, and a 12gauge and the beautiful old 303british, And a 380.for your pocket,my gun cabinet! A suggestion for the goose gun a supresser like choke and a
Arisaka anti aircraft sight!
Who else thought they were sitting??
i have been watching there videos for three years and I just realized it too
"Too be fair"
I own about half of these
This is unbelievably accurate. Dad had the same goose gun in the late 80’s. I remember sneaking that bad boy out the gun cabinet as a kid and feeling like I could shoot the moon. Lol
Thanks for.the memories! Great video!
"Don't-chu use the R word on live youtube!! Only we can use the R word." - God Bless you guys. Keep up the good work. And watch out for those sneaky Canadians, ' they're taken all the joaaaaabs!"
Don Quixote
sneaky Canadians eh?
like the ones who burnt down your white house? lol
i love my neighbors!
hell i wish we were more American here 😕
Don Quixote whats a joab?
Don Quixote sorry man, never seen the show.
1) the cheapest rifle you can buy chambered in 30-06
2) sawed off shotgun
3) ridiculously large handgun for day carry
4) ar pistol
5) 1887 modified like in T2.
You guys should do a top 5 granny guns.
Anything Charter Arms
@@ianmattl Or Iver Johnson.
This is officially my favorite video on your channel, i always seem to come back to it
Do a top 5 or ten movie Guns
Trey Mozzali Beretta 92fs
Trey Mozzali My names also Tre'
I literal bought a marlin 336 last year for deer season in 30-30
I picture a pheasant drive through 160 acres of corn stubble.
I was today years old when I realized you guys arent sitting on chairs 😂
In regards to the Marlin Goose Gun, when steel shot was mandated back in the 1980s, people thought that longer barrels were needed to help make it more effective. Many companies started offering longer barrels, Marlin had a pump gun with a thirty-six inch barrel!
Over 1k views in 7 minutes. Awesome.
Not something I shoot often but I love it and it’s one of my favorite rifles I have
When people sporterize old Mausers it's sad though
I’m fine with it. Makes the ones still around more valuable 😂
I got one for 200 dollars cause the stock, which was homemade, wasn't correct. After eBay I have a ww1 stock on a ww2 mauser... Frankengun
That’s what you mostly see used on hunts in Germany
Winchester 94 here!
James Zivny yes I have one and everybody in Maine practily has one
James Zivny more of a cowboy gun I got the '73
Lev Mason You could call it that and I'm not offended. Lol
yep lever guns are great, I won 50$ for hitting a pop can at 150yds with iron sights (357 mag)
My grandfather gave me his model 94, I looked up the serial number and its a 1972 model
