Probably Thomas Rundqvist. 3rd All-time most games in Swedens National Team. Got drafted by the Habs, played two games and got an injury in his eye, was sent down to Sherbrooke and played the rest of the season there before returning home to Sweden.
Mark Messier and Jarome Iginla. Both from Edmonton. Grant Fuhr and Glenn Hall also from metro Edmonton. So I guess a few good players came from that city.
I watched Eiserman in person at the world's last year. Amazing player. Had 4 goals, should've have 7, including a behind the net Michigan THAT HITS THE CROSSBAR...
I hope Aito Iguchi doesn't give up that dream of playing in the NHL one day. I mean, before Muggsy Bogues established himself, not many people thought a 5'3" basketball player could be a journeyman in the NBA. With that said, it is very unfortunate that the pandemic interrupted things for him.
Given the league has went away from hitting to more skill/speed based, it would be incredible to see someone of his size out there. Old Man time. Back in my day, there was no way. Imagine Scott Stevens catching him roaming across the blue line Lindros style. Kid would have lost his life. Prime example was Paul Kariya...Stevens let up on that hit.
I mean he doesn't really have any chance. He got a slim chance of even having a pro career whatsoever. His size isn't the main issue. If he was McDavid fast with an elite shot then maybe he could do the impossible but he doesn't have any elite skills.
This is the exact video that accurately describes the situation around Juraj Slafkovský, they captured how it is and what awaits him in the next continuation in the NHL. Great video! :)
Oliver Wahlstrom had a viral goal as a 10 year old during the bruins Mini 1-on-1. (Basically local youth hockey teams doing a shootout that is shown in between periods of NHL games)
Its fairly unknown but there is a professional league in japan. Aito would easily excel and dominate in it. Hes playing in the college league in japan currently and could go into the league right now if he wanted. Its a bit of a stretch but it would be nice to see him in the echl along side other japanese natives like yuki miura and yushiroh hirano.
I don't question Connor's size, but I do question the help on the Hawks team. And the fresh young mindset of the Brass. I'd leave him in the WHL for his last season so the Hawks can tank one more season and get him a top pick. Only thing Blackhawks can gain are tickets and merch sales.
@@dylanr8481 How's Bedard doing recently??? Huh? Why isn't he playing again? Exactly. He should'v stayed in WHL. You obviously have never played hockey and barely know anything about hockey (other than watching it) to make such a silly comment.
@@dylanr8481 LOL yeah thats why he didn't even make it to 41 games. Kids have no business in the NHL. You want to watch kids tune in to juniors and college.
Neither of Aito Iguchi or Yusaku Ando are the most projectable Japanese prodigies to the NHL level, that would actually be Kenta Isogai. Who is a high effort player heading to the Wenatchee Wild of the WHL next year after being part of the Youngstown Phantoms Clark Cup win in the USHL.
"Seeing the Mason Raymond banner made me think anybody can do it". 99% No. What you just said is almost completely wrong. Most pro athletes have an insane work ethic, but the hard work by itself is not enough. If you don't start with the gift of natural talent you can just not make up for that with sweat. The kids that have any chance of becoming pro are usually playing on the elite teams with older kids starting at a young age. We should all strive to be our best, but you can not will yourself into professional athletics unless the potential is already there.
As much as Aito's story is bittersweet, he shaped hockey in Japan. He gave them so much recognition and did so much to grow the game. That someone from an untraditional market can do so well, is a great sign for the sport.
Rinks, competition, specialized trainers, hockey training equipment, coaches, the list can go on and on. Not just in Japan but in every untraditional market

Who is the best talent from your hometown/region?
Cale Makar, Taylor Hall
I’d add Dany Heatley but he was born in Germany

exactly what i thought when he said nobody has done it
And what did he achieve in the league?
@@Gl-my8fw He played over 400 games in the NHL

Nathan Gerbe was 5 foot 4 and he could hit 2x his size, so I really do have hope for Iguchi

Not sure what a paradox shift is, but it would be a great name for a band.
What's Gerbe at?
Its such a shame how much players get overlook look if their not fully grown by 16 years old. Crazy how bedard can be considered small at 5'10.
I still think a team should sign Iguchi just to see if he can compete in the NHL/AHL at his height
I saw Eiserman at the world u17 challenge tournament last year and he was absolutely filthy
Y’all got a few information things wrong about aito he played in canada for the Langley River men !
Eiserman had 97 goals in 2020 on his AAA team U14 he only had 28 goals last year
NTDP includes all leagues. He had 97 goals total between the 3 leagues
Dang there is a lot of coles in the NHL
Cole Caufield
Cole sillinger
Cole perfetti

Why wouldn’t a team give aito an entry level contract and see what you get. No risk and could be an extremely high reward.
wtf is a "paradox shift"?

I think Sakic had a better WHL year than Bedard, 78 goals 82 assists for 160 points in 64 games.
The stat we referenced was for players who were 17 when drafted. My bad
But he got an eye injury that is why his draft stock plummeted... Still became a decent players and leader for the Aves...
