I have this PSU, what I didn't understand is why I can't really adjust the current? in my mind, you set voltage and max amperage but doesn't work. So what's the amperage adjustment for then?
but a 10 ohm resistor big heawy type on it, turn up the voltage to 10V you should see the current is now 1A, now keep the voltage dail untuoched, and slowly dial down the current until you get 500mA, now you see ? your are using the current regulation, mostly it is used for protection, like you have a good idea what is the max usage or safe level of what ever you work with today, then set the current limit to a point a little bit over that, and you can save your construction from causing too much extra damage, when something go wrong
