Just another proof that people seriously overestimate the true system requirements of most games these days.
I'd bet that if you'd slap in a low-power 2GB GTX 750ti, it'd 1080p/60fps a huge chunk of fairly modern games. All while still hovering below that 100$ total cost.
I got myself a used Lenovo Ideacentre 610s a few months ago. It's a mini PC even far smaller than a tiny mITX build at only 2 liters. With an i5-6500T and a GTX 750 Ti I'm able to play any modern game, including really heavy ones such as AC:Odyssey. But 1600x900, 30 fps and low/medium settings will be a requirement from 2019 and onward for most AAA titles.
@@SweBeach2023 that still sounds great considering PS4 is 30 fps for most games, and if the resolution is not a big deal then that would be great.
GTA v on the other hand... my 1050 ti is getting frame rate spikes on 1080p
@@SweBeach2023 teach me how please!
A 750ti couldnt fit in that case
This PC is a beast compared to my craptop
Laptops are always inferior to similar value desktops, and are easier to upgrade as well.
Well, it's £50, so get your pocket change and do the thing!
SteveHeist The problem is the price of this kind of PC. It costs like $150 in my country.
just get parts by parts 8gb of ram not more than 10 dollars case 10 dollars Graphics card 15 and so on:) and 50£ is 75 dollars
I feel you
5:30 i love the vice city theme rendition lol
I bought a Dell Optiplex 3020 with 8GB of ddr3 1600mhz ram, 1TB hard drive and a I5 4570 for $130
I paired it with a GTX 950 that I got for $80. The monitor is a AOC that I obtained for $10 at good will and the rest of the accessories also came from there for another $20.
For $240 I have a SOLID gaming machine that plays all of my titles at a smooth 1080p.
Tell me where you got these
A pc like yours would at least cost 400$ in my country lol graphics cards prices is like gold here at least 150$ for gtx750ti
I paid $200 Canadian for the same CPU, a h81 Gigabyte MoBo and 16gb of ram. Bought a PSU brand-new that was resold for 20, and got a gtx950 sc for $80. Not bad for $300
My cheap PC rocks an i3 4130 and a gtx 960 amp! with 8gb of ram for 250 dollars it's My baby
I got the 9020 with core i7 4770,
8GB of RAM,
240GB SSD,
free nVidia Geforce 8400 Gs from 2007 (creates a *SEVERE* bottleneck),
free dell 4:3 monitor,
free hp mouse & keyboard, and a desk from an office getting rid of there stuff.
It can run most of my titles at 60-70 frames per second; the CPU runs at 20%-30%, whereas the GPU runs at 100% almost all of the time.
I am planning on buying a higher powered graphics card. So far, my setup costs under £200.
I am planning on spending about £250.
Please buy an air compressor, it's much easier blowing dust out of a pc instead of wiping it off! And it's esd 'safe'
I found one of these with an i3 3220 and 8gb of RAM and upgraded it with a Low Profile GTX 1050 and now it's my main rig
may I suggest a cpu upgrade after 3 years

4:41 when you play a shooter with a controller
Console player come to the shooting range and saying: hey can somebody shoot for me?
I'm a controller apologist.
Mostly because my laptop can't accept mousepad and keyboard inputs at the same time for some stupid reason.
Should've bought a gaming mouse. I had the same problem and that's what i did and problem solved.
Tony Hakston just get like a 50 cent mouse from goodwill
I was replying to the dude who said he couldn't get both trackpad inputs and keyboard inputs at once.
Well it runs up to date games, but the pc has a huge back catalogue of games unlike the consoles. So its a win, win win situation really as older games can be had for very little money.
Or for completely free.
Can you run games from the early 2000's, that aren't on Steam or gog.com on this PC if you have the DVDs?
If you mean on this PC specifically, probably, some games would need some working on though, I'm sure something like Conflict Desert Storm 2 would work fine on this PC.
Or you can just buy a gamecube.
Gamefreak924 Why would you want to do that just to play gamecube games? The only reason to get one is if you're a collector.
vice city intro ost 👍
From ps2? Didn't sound like XBOX version
nathan mead ye I recognise it from the old PS2 version

I still think SFFs are still amazing buys in 2018 and even in the future. I’ve had my OptiPlex 9010 SFF for nearly a year now. It has an i7-3770 and 8GB of RAM, snatched it for such a low price of £150. Put in a used, cheap GT 1030 and it performs like a dream! Super quiet, and plays all the E-Sports titles I need so nicely. It’s my main PC and really appreciate how small they are too, saves a lot of space.
Good buy. If possible, upgrade it to the GTX 1050ti or next gen GPU that have a SFF version.
What is your PSU?
@@rzpogi or he can upgrade the gt 1030vto rx 570 because gtx 1050ti js very expensive today for the performance because of the demand on it

No lies, I actually bought a motherboard/i3 2120/2gb ram bundle last week, exactly the same as this one. Mine was £29!
I've been thinking of getting one for pfSense.
Are you telling me that computer plays games about the same as my $400 PS4????
Essentially....Yes.

yes
your ps4 isnt worth $400 anymore though
BACWRDS We all go through this one day.
Damn, didn't think that it would be able to play very much. Definitely a nice little e-sports machine. Great video man!
The only e-sports game you can reliably play on it is league of legends, you need to have stable 144+ fps for a competitve experience on cs go for example.
Xtcent not really you can play csgo at 30-60 fps easily and not notice and slowdown.
download ram
doesnt matter much at all if the monitor isnt 144hz. and i doubt a budget gamer in this tier would be going for 144hz

Enjoyed this also. You could also get a Dell Optiplex 9020 with a i5-4570, chunk in a 970 for about 150 USD (if a good deal), a CX600 to get a console killer for about 300 USD.
The music from Fable fits in so well, Also what a great video. Keep it up!
I've got an elite 8200 an i5 and 1050ti Amazing value for money
Fishtankoala exactly, mines really simular, except its built in an Optiplex 790
When gtx 1150/2050 or RX 660 comes out you will be able to get 1060/ RX 580 performance
Is the 1050 ti alot better than the 1050?
I'm not too sure, never really looked into the 1050.But 1050ti has been amazing for me so far.
I have kinda like that but with a 750ti.
Always a pleasant watch. Keep it up.
2 years later, I'm enjoying this video along with the GTA Vice City music cover you put in. Love it.

Great video, always enjoy watching these.
My University's surplus store has these stacked to the ceilings for $50 each for the i5 and $100 for i7. They also have HP 8000, 8100, 8300, 800 G1 and 800 G2 plus some Optiplex 390, 990, 9010, 9020 etc etc.

My school sells T1700 Dells, i5-4570, 8GB DDR3, Quadro K600 for 150$, CAD i go to George Brown College in Toronto Canada.
Hi man, well that's a beast PC for it's price, I'm impressed that it could play 2018 heavy titles, Cheers!
Lounge on PC none them are at an enjoyable fps expect cs go....
John Lomeli I said it could play but I didn't say perfectly.
It is awesome it price. He should have tried lighter titles. League of Legends should have ran just as good as cs go....it is a great starter budget build.
John Lomeli anything above 30fps is playable except eSports titles like CS GO.
That GTA Vice City in background music OMG :D So Good
Loving the Vice City theme tune during the build
classic fable music is orgasmic. great video btw was going to get a 1150 optiplex but decided to build my own for the expereince

By the way, is that VCS music?
Yes
Loved the GTA Vice City music sequence! Nostalgia
hey thanks for he vid the fable ost in the foreground was the best part as it made me reminisce about my young years playing that game good vid!
Thanks for mentioning the pcie wattage thing. About 3 years ago my old highschool was giving away their old library computers (dell optiplex's) as they were upgrading to newer ones. Well I got one (an optiplex 360 with a core2 duo e7300) to use as a family media center. When researching which graphics card to use for the system, I found the 360 (along with most other sff systems on the 775 platform from most oem's) had a max power output of 25w through the pcie x16 slot, which meant something like a gt730 would be the most powerful nvidia card it would support. Though long story short, they ended up getting a passive hd 5450, which for what the system is used for (netflix, youtube and skype mainly) is perfectly usable.
Good job on the video! Been loving the content!
I have an Optiplex 780 with a C2D E7500 and HD 7450 as my HTPC, as well. A great machine!
I didn’t know the sff 360 had the power limit. I have the desktop version and it has no power limit.
If I had to guess, the power limit is due to the fact the sff system only has a 255w proprietary psu, so there's not a whole lot of headroom for expansion cards
Oh I think my school is doing something similar to that right now. They just have a bunch of optiplexes and Compaqs sitting out in the hallway. I need to ask around if they are giving them away because I really need a computer right now
I dont think the motherboard has any power limit. Maybe need to upgrade the psu as well for a more power hungry card.
This christmas I got a optiplex 990, changed the PSU, got a GTX 750 ti Gigabyte, and it runs wonderfully.
Cost me 200$ and lots of room to upgrade
Dang... I remember watching you when you only had around 10k subs... glad you’re finally getting the recognition you deserve! Keep up the good work!!!
Oh, that magnificent vice city music.. as always, Awesome video mate.
can we appreciate that you used fable ost for this video
A great OST.
indeed it is, love your videos
I bought a SFF PC with i5 2400, 8GB ram, 500gb hdd for 80$ and gave it a gt 1030, worked perfectly fine!
Link, please?
Optiplex 790 by any chance? I have the same specs, minus the HDD. The HDD was some 320GB 7200RPM Drive. Also paid the same price in GBP.
I've also bought 2x 80mm PWM fans from Arctic (£9 on Amazon for one, but £9 on Ebay for 2!) and some adapters for dells proprietary connectors of course. I'll probably try to use the extra fan in place of the blower one that's on the heatsink just because it'll be cheaper to replace if it works without issues temp wise. Oh, the optical drive is gone, and I mounted an SSD in its place using the two screw holes near the edge as well as a 3.5 inch drive adapter to make it a 2x 2.5 inch. So I could easily have 3 SSDs in there if I wanted, but I have 1 ssd and 2 HDDs.
I also managed to find a drive bay cover though I had to hot glue it in place, otherwise it protruded from the front panel which looks crap.
thank you for the Vice City intro music :3
Thanks for this build,I think I'll try building one myself. :-)
Woah.
Very impressed by the R9 255. Similar performance to the R7 250, for a quarter of the price, AND size!!

The fable intro was great!!!
i just started to watch all of your video's, and so far i am really enjoying it. Proper good job.
This sort of thing is what I did for my gaming PC.
I took an old Lenovo workstation rig, beefed it up to 8GB of RAM, put in a GT 1030, and BAM! I can now play every triple A game at medium-high settings, 30fps and above. And it really only cost me about $75. It's amazing what you can do with a little bit of time and money.
CyanFire I did something similar. I gave my 5 year old optiplex MT a new PSU and a gtx 1050...Can run most games med-high settings.
Most people hates 1030.
@@TriggerzConnors true, But there's no reason to actually hate a PCB with a Graphics proccesing unit and some GDDR5 ram chips or in the worst case, DDR4 , that sounds just dumb
would you ever consider benchmarking a game like Overwatch? its pretty optimized and id like to see its limits. great video as always!
5:35 the music gave me a Vice City vibe... I love it!!!
using this pc now, so cool!

okay listen to me for a second, my friend is giving me 450w power supply, a case and a Radeon R7 360 for free build I don’t know what components will really be good, i’m looking to spend up to $500 Canadian for the rest of the parts. it’s a great deal since i’m getting a graphics card right off the bat but i don’t know what will be right for it.
i have memes, you wanna see them? get an i5 2400 or 3***, sincs you pay 10$ more for it rather then an i3.. get a decent sized hdd and keep the rest of they money for the near future, you don't know what will happen
leftLeg i have a few spare hdd’s laying around and ram is pretty expensive now a days, i might go for a cheaper i7 like an i7 3***
an i7 is ideal, it fucking rocks... i have a friend who can stream and edit very easily with no struggle with it, and i, which i have an i5 8th gen can't acomplish his raw performance/
Ahh that Vice City theme... I didn't come here to feel but I left in tears

that GTA vice city theme song ;) well played
This is actually pretty good, would love this for an away-from-home PC
Can you use black ops 3 as a test game, it's fairly demanding and popular so I think it's a perfect game to use for testing.
Also, can you fit a gtx 750 ti inside and would there be enough power from the psu to support it?
Yeah yeah... when Activision get used to optimize their games on a better way :)
GT 1030!?A lot of better and more cheaper cards like GTX 750,750Ti,480,570,660,950,etc... ;-)
I would like to see you stick a GTX480,570, or 660 in this PC.
dea gt yeah.... Those probably won't fit.
Keep in mind that this is a SFF machine. So only low profile cards will fit in. Except for a low-profile 1050ti, I'm pretty sure the 1030 is the best way to go.
there is also low-power GTX 1050 (non-Ti) models, that'd still be a step up from 1030.
That being said, there's a handful of videos showcasing how much the GT 1030 can do. You could also go with prev-gen low power cards, like GTX 950 or the now legendary 750ti 2gb.
nothing new will ever work, the bios is the limiting factor. Just stick with older cards.
