Thankfully, it's possible to play this in modern VR headsets, with the full stereoscopic 3D effect too, and it's honestly pretty great. The fact the underlying game is very good is what allows it to hold up so well after all these years.
Of all the games on the Virtual Boy, this game is definitely worthy of a remake. Since they missed that opportunity to remake this game for their other system that had 3D, it would be nice if they decided to remake this game for the Switch.
The last upload did had those buggy wrecking balls and a buggy Wario jumping from plane to plane. I'm glad that's fixed. But I wonder. Is this how Mutant Mudds got that inspiration from this game or is it just me?

You know you could have gotten more gold coins by "recycling" the enemies by putting them in the "Coin clouds" and getting the 20-gold coin instead of just ramming for the 1-gold coins, right? One tremendous thing: In the "Heart Bonus" games, you need to jump when the diamond bats are high in their arc. That way you get the diamond without losing your hearts. And you'll need every extra man you can get from 100 heart points or one diamond. When you hit the bat, I remember playing the game long ago and feeling the pain then and now.

I know a lot of people like this game, but I can see why Nintendo hasn't put it onto the Nintendo Switch, or any other Nintendo device. It has some noticeable flaws. The most obvious one is the lack of color. Second is controls. Third, the elevator used for going from level to level is kind of fun, but it's a pain to go back to find the treasures you lost, or didn't find. Fourth flaw is the hit detection. In some areas it's off. Fifth flaw is the lack of clues. There's a part where the key is hidden in the clock, and another part you have to bash the ceiling to reveal a pipe. But you learn about those with luck, or you get gaming tips. So, I just don't think Nintendo will pick up this game, and fix these flaws. It would take too much time. Also, the game is a 3D game. It won't look good on a 2D screen. 7/10.

Why did Gunpei Yokoi ever think red and black would work for the Virtual Boy, as opposed to the more common green and black seen on TV and movies of the time? Limitations??? Also, that picture of Wario on the title screen is straight out of Uncanny Valley. It's as if Nintendo found it in the scraps of rejected ideas Rare had for the DK Country games. D:

Though it was stated that the full color vb obviously was to expensive for production. The full color vb didn't really work as well with the 3d effect. With red and black the 3d effect was alot more distinct and visible

You can now play this on the 3DS with Red Viper! It's really nice. Check it out. But you have to be homebrew'd

It was a price thing. Red laser was the cheapest color to use and incorperating either blue and/or green would have been way too expensive to market.
