    Hi this video was helpful. I installed the Wyze at my house and it showed an error that green wire was not connected properly but actually it was and I skipped the step. I have 2 w wires for which I selected furnace gas for both stage of heat. Does it look or sound ok. Should I be worried?

    All of the wires in my wall are either black or white no colors, what do you do if this is the case

    Good video but like so many things it doesn't fit my specific situation. The Wyze Thermostat says the "W" is not connected when it clearly is. This is very frustrating as there appears to be no way to solve it.
    The original thermostat had a jumper wire between "Y" and "W" but the Wyze Thermostat says that is not necessary. I suspect it is. I tried to use a jumper wire but it won't fit. The wire is a little too big I think and the holes are just a little too small to accommodate two wires.
    Anyway I am not sure if anyone else has encountered this issue but I have an email out to Wyze though I don't think they are going to be much help.

      Update: I discovered that, in fact, a jumper wire is necessary. Wyze support was of no help as usual.
      I found a wire thin enough to fit and now the "W" wire is recognized. So it appears to be working properly.
      One other thing about Wyze is that their software is not all that user friendly.
      Setting things up is a bit awkward.

    Does this thermostat only work with HVAC systems? I have just a regular gas furnace that only heats. Will this thermostat work in my situation?

    !!!!! Not for High voltage systems!!!! Also not app friendly. Reversed cooling heating. Yes installation is a breeze but be sure your system is not high voltage like above 110 or hard wired!!! I thought it wasn’t user friendly. I keep turning it off and it keeps going.

    Hey James, great vids ... cup of coffee coming your way. Quick question, I have two conventional systems (gas w/ forced air) and both are 4 wire (R, W, G, Y). I installed the C Adapter on both unites and the wiring is the same (from what I can tell) BUT when I turn on the COOL mode on one unit the outdoor AC Fan / Compressor kicks on ALONG WITH THE FURNACE (heat & fan). Any ideas as to why? Thanks!!!!

    In your other video you mentioned that there was a video telling what to do when you find the c wire in the wall, Where is the link to that video?

    My thermostat wiring is w2, w, (white connected to not in used,) y, r and rc together with jumper and the back of the thermostat i see blue and white connected together. Don't see any blue wires common coming out of the thermostat. Can this work with wyze thermostat?

    I have two separate systems; one for oil burner heat circulating for radiant heat in the floor and in the attic a central air system. I tried grabbing the C wire from the central air and had no heat. Then I grabbed the C wire from the oil furnace and had no air. For the winter, I can live with the latter. My old thermostat which worked well, albeit terrible programming had the R & W wire from the oil furnace and the Y, G, & RC wire from the central air unit in the attic. It almost seems like there is not way to share the common between the two. I spent hours working on this setup, to no avail. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

      Are any of your wires shorting out touching each other? That could cause it. Also I've seen instances where the wires short out because when the screw was installed it went through the wires in the wall shorting them out. What wires do you have installed?

    I have almost the same wiring in the above video but, I have one additional 'brown' wire currently plugged into RC, and it's jumpered into red R. Do you know what that wire's funtion is and what I could / should do with it?

      I have same situation W, Y, G, R and Rc . I am confused is Rc is same as C wire ?

    • @jacobsonhome
      @jacobsonhome 2 роки тому

      I ended up figuring out that my mysterious extra brown wire was not connected to anything inside the control box of my a/c. It must have been run extra and then just connected to a therm pin just because some technician didn’t like seeing it hanging loose. Sure caused a lot of confusion later. :)

    Will this work with baseboard heat ?

    • @OneHourSmartHome
      @OneHourSmartHome  3 роки тому

      If you have low voltage controls (24v) and a common wire it can work with baseboard heat. If you have high voltage baseboard heating controls the Mysa Smart Thermostat: amzn.to/38WgUKj will work
