I have a small electric chainsaw that I love. My neighbor and I took down my maple tree in the back yard with it. I love electric like you said because of the power and it's super light (can even use one hand), but the cord is tricky to keep out of the way and from tangling. I bought a little handheld one (7" maybe) that is rechargeable. I like it for my brush and smaller diameter shrub bases. It's great, but I always forget to recharge it! I don't even know where the heck I put it right now haha. I am so bad at forgetting to recharge things, but they are handy. The battery adds a bit of weight though. I'd look into an electric one that is like (I'm guessing here on what mine is) about 14". Check for used ones even. I'd trust electric over battery most of the time. Awesome job taking down that tree! I find the hardest part is securing the ropes haha. I'm not good at throwing :)

My aunt has one that she loves. If I ever need to try it again I would probably spend a bit more money and get a slightly bigger one.
I’m the same as you when it comes to recharging things 😆 and I always say I’m not going to forget again and I always do! That’s why having two batteries is good!
Im just so happy the tree is down. It was a long process but glad it’s now over!

@@OurBergLife Ask around if you can borrow one sometime :) Garage sales? Even the two battery system has proven too much for me. I'm so disorganized lol.

You must be so happy that you did this yourself. We haven't had luck with gas saws. We don't use them often enough so they sit and then they have to be taken to get fixed. Maybe renting one next time will be a better choice for us. Take Care!!

I am!! Renting one is a smart idea. I never think to rent tools but it is such a good idea especially if you aren’t going to use them often. 😊

You don't use a saws zaw to cut down a tree lmao 😂 you're lucky you didn't get knocked off that ladder if it kicked back! Ladies and gentlemen this is exactly how NOT to cut down a tree (safely)

I used a hand saw to cut the top of the tree and had someone pull it with a rope.
I used the reciprocating saw with a large wood blade. The diameter of the tree was small and I never had kickback once. It cut through it easily.
I also researched if I could use this type of saw for cutting down a tree and found tons of information that said you can such as this, “Can You Use a Reciprocating Saw to Cut Trees? Generally speaking, the answer here is… yes, you absolutely can use a reciprocating saw to cut trees. In fact, the rapid push-and-pull action of this kind of saw, combined with its saw tooth blades, allows it to efficiently work through wood.”
I tackled the project slowly and got it done. I’m sure there are ‘better’ ways to do it but this worked great for me.
      😊
