Indian soldiers are incredible in their handling of this.. resolute.. firm.. yet calm. China is clearly trying to test our resolve to uphold our sovereignty. They'll realize soon that all Indians would fully support whatever action our Army takes. Eid Mubarak to all

Nitin, if you link this with statements coming out of Nepal, you realise that it is a larger game plan. Probable reasons could be India's growing proximity with USA and now the probability of reducing trade with China under pressure from USA. Add to this the reports that western companies trying to exit China may set base in India. China may not want India to encourage that. Hence the indirect pressure to behave.

Precisely. I doubt China intends to do anything that can be considered major. This is a case example of a warning. They have also done this several times with Taiwan and Vietnam among others, at great expense to diplomatic power.

Nitinji, a very informative and in a very nutshell discussion on a very complicated boundary dispute between India and imperial China. China did not believe in 'Macmohan line boundary'. But they agreed the same Macmohan Line in case of boundary with Burma. In fact India had no boundary with China. China is an aggressive nation, a Imperialist nation, gobled up Tibet which was a soverign country. India should recognise exile Tibet government as a separate soverign Nation government. And discurd one china policy.

While China is open about the taking anti India stance at international forums e.g. the issue of Masood Azhar why is it that we are not able to do a tit for tat. I understand China is a global power much larger our size in economy as well as military power. If a small country like Taiwan can stand against China then what factors stop us from talking openly about issues that bother China e.g. Hongkong protests, supporting Taiwan and Tibet, no free press being available. The same is the case with Turkey, why can't we talk about Kurdish issues which bother them and ensure these countries are kept at bay and they think twice before taking anti India stance at various forums with the fear that India will bring out topics which will bother them.

    (1) India Nepal issue
    (2) Indian forces defence budget rationalisation due to the pandemic and how it affects armed forces warfighting capabilities.
    (3) Performance of the current CDS and his disagreement with
    (1) AIR FORCE over (a)handing over Apaches to army, (b) number of MMRCA to be bought, to be bought in staggered manner or to buy in a single order.
    (2) With navy over buying INS VISHAL or not.

The discord between the two Nations was well summarised and narrated. China happens to be our arch rival and constantly creating nuisance. It has to be dealt with fiercely and to be annihilated so as to the Stone age shattering its dream to become the world's super power. This is the oppurtune moment to real it a lethal blow and once India starts retaliates there are other adversaries of China waiting to pounce on it in the South China Sea with the help of America.

Why doesn't India build a fence on their border, China is only creating trouble in settled areas to move the goalposts and when it settled it feels like a victory to india, but china then takes advantage and pushes their luck and takes some land from the genuinely contested areas.
