As someone who's half black and a quarter Native American, having even lived on the res for a few years, I have to point out that they're incorrect about the government paying Natives. So many people think that and they're all wrong. If your tribe owns a casino, you may be lucky enough to get a check. It's a portion of the money earned by the tribe. It has nothing to to do with government. A lot of tribes that do get paid, you only have to be 1/16th blood. However, even if you're 100% Native, if your tribe doesn't have casinos, you're not gettin' paid a single penny. There are so many res's, like I where I lived, that *everyone is completely dirt poor.*
