Let me tell you something... Ive been a type 1 diabetic since 1993. I have NO complications etc. The reason why he has such complications which led to blindness and amputation is that he did not take care of himself. You must ALWAYS monitor your blood sugar and keep your A1C below 7% . Sticking to NON sugar diet is a must. You CAN live a normal life. I just wanted to say that in case people may get the wrong impression. Having diabetes does not mean this is 100% your fate.

even woth A1c of 8 you wont get those complications but he was also a type 2. usually type 2a dont realize they have diabetes for yearssss because they make just enough insulin to not go into DKA so there augar can be 200-300 for years and not know. so they actually develope complications faster

I'm 45 and I have been a diabetic since 1998 so that's 22 years and in the last 10 years I have added high blood pressure as well as detached retina to my problems because of diabetes I am partially blind and this struggle really sucks I'm not a mental or mentally Disturbed person I am a strong-willed person but to wake up everyday and go through the routine of checking your sugar level and taking three shots a day is is disturbing as well as all of the other medications I have to take for other things. Being a type 2 diabetic is not pretty it's not something to laugh at I often think of suicide but I know I'm strong enough to not go through with the process I do not want to hurt my loved ones that way but I am filled with sadness because of the deterioration of your body that the disease does to you. so everyone if you are going through something please be strong and have faith in God that there is a better day ahead for all of us no matter what we are going through

Look into Dr. Richard K Bernstein and his book called the Diabetes Solution, hes an endocrinologist and a diabetic himself for over 75+ years

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I was able to completely reverse it in 3 months with no medication. You have to switch to low carb, high fat diet aka KETO and at-least get 30 minutes exercises daily. Please don't let them pump u with medications that will eventually destroy your organs in the long run. My doctor and dietician advice would have killed me but I am glad I didn't listen and did my research. Even tho I can never go back to eating the way I use to but that's ok, because I would rather have my health than go blind, get my foot amputated and die of a heart disease or stroke.

I lost one of my eyes due to diabetes this year and I’m not that bad with health my a1c is 6.7 now I was at 12.7 not heavy set at all but cuz it was so high it took one of mine it’s not about how bad is your weight diabetes is just a matter of time I had it since birth and I’m 28 with one blind eye

Same here i swear , I did a shit ton of drugs like Yayo and always drinking and had no health issues ever , and then one day when I'm 20 I simply just got out bed and felt my heart was going to jump out of chest cus it was beating so fast n hard . Went ER and my heart rate was at 176 beats per minute with very high blood pressure . Docs did tests and had no clue why and what was going on with me , gave me a Beta Blocker Pill and now I'm stuck on Beta Blocker Pills for the rest of my life . 27 now and gave it all up a few years ago , but damage was done .

Diabetes be the biggest cause of blindness. Beat keep your sugar levels between 5 - 7 . High blood suagrs over long periods of time can be catastrophic on your eye sight. Same with your limbs and hands and feet. You get a cut of your leg and your diabetes isn't doing well you got a high chance of losing that leg. Even then you wana hope that womb heals good becuse if not it's spreading throughout your body and will take your life

Ik this a year ago, but I have a question, if you eat snacks like oatmeal creme pie, Sugar cookies and Cheez it's and still eating fruits , can you get sugar diabetes?
People talking about diet, but the overall American diet is full of sugar, even the healthy stuff. If you want to eat better go to a dietitian and learn what a serving actually is, and it will change everything you think about food, and you will know the difference between a slow carb (plain oatmeal, fruits) and fast carbs (juice, any white starch). Salad dressing, sauces ,and all alcohol (beer, wine, liquor) is full of carbs that contribute to diabetes. Hell if you eat out at most restaurants in the US you probably should be splitting an entree, because they put like 3-4 portions of carbs on the plate.

Man my wife has had diabetes type 1 since age 8 and now is on kidney dialysis also to and it gave her stomach problems also now she may have stomach cancer as well and it's making her go blind she need a transplant and when we got her on the transplant list after all we did following what to do the first thing they said was 10,000$ and we needed it so I kinda got upset on them asked if they had ever seen John Q they put me down as a hostile partner/husband I said idc she needs this but that was about 2 years ago she still needs one all they care about is money wished we was rich at that time whenever she had done that just for that day so she could live longer for our daughter cause they say ppl can only handle dialysis for so many years and she goes in for the cancer test this week I say F diabetes for sure I'm her caregiver and see all she goes thru and have epilepsy also caused by anxiety and depression to for 10 years now but what she deals with is way worse I mean they said I've almost drowned in the tub before but idc I still say diabetes is worse and what she goes thru 😠 that's what made boosie my fav rapper cause he mentions it alot in songs and how it sucks

I know diabetes, working 24/7 as your own failed pancreas makes you burn out at times, and even vengeful towards your own body. Boosie has said that he once went without insulin for a month. I understand why, he did what he had to do, but I hope he survives that one.
