This is the nearly newest versions of this airplane and our government has models that have listening devices,sensors,interdiction items and they call it the P-3 ORION/United States Commerce its indentified by a dishlike antenna on the top of the plane.
Sadly, not many people cherish those here in Germany. They're just "alte Mühlen" (old mills) and should be replaced as soon as possible.

I did 4 73-77 as an OT. Was the MAD a leftover from the early days? I never heard of detection with it. What few flights that I went on were sonobuoys exclusively.
