I think right now, she's just hesitant in performing. There was criticism mixed in with hate. When you mix it all together, it can look like just hate. She's just going to need some time to rebuild her confidence in performing because she's really trying not to draw any more attention her way. Plus, she's 17, a kid, who's still adjusting and learning. I do feel sad for Ahyeon, though.
As a Rami fan, I'm kinda glad no one's looking at her because her and Ruka are dancing just as strong and sharp as Ahyeon was. If Ahyeon is getting this, I can imagine what could happen to Rami 😬

I think she needs to find a balance because when she is energetic, she is too energetic but when she tones it down, she loses everything.
So she needs to find a balance where her moves are clean and fluid and her facial expressions are fun and excited (but not too much)

her energy matches loud songs like sheesh and batter up. she look like she was doing too much when she danced to forever and like that. she looked odd. I think she should put in more energy into the loud songs and she should be more chill when performing others

It's tiring when idols get bullied into just putting on said "gentle smile". She did overdance but her facial expressions showed her character and personality. People always want idols to be themselves and not put on a fake persona but then bully them if they show a hint of personality

She’s in a girl group and needs to match the energy and performance of the other girls. It doesn’t look good when one idol over or under performs.
If she’s a soloist, she can perform her max.
I loved her earlier style, it was so energetic and she looked like she really loved performing, it did stand out from the group but I think she could have worked round that and still embrace her dance style on stage, it’s sad to see her tired doing something she once loved ❤

This is the problem with groups. You are forced to lose your individuality. And that is just sad. She should just go solo. Im pretty sure she will make a great career being solo based on her characteristics.
Not "groups"; mid~large groups like Baemon. Bp, 2ne1 and big bang (the yg family) are known for every member bringing in their own style. If you see their performances, their dancing isn't synchronized, but you never notice because they don't need to be synchronized to shine. With just 4~5 ppl, every member can share the spotlight. But synchro is extrememly important in larger groups like baemon, most 7+ member groups are known for synchronization before individuality (iz*one, kep1er). Ahy can use most/all her energy in even the original baemon lineup, but not when there's 7 members

Exactly. The reason I liked them in the beginning is they had different styles and their choreo was mindful of that. I’m so sick of homogeneous groups. I don’t want perfection, that’s what Seventeen is for dance wise, and mamamoo is for vocals. I want personality.
But the group looked so out of sync like that, you can still have personality and match the group's energy. When viewing solo fancams, Ahyeon looks stunning but when you see a bigger picture, it's really like she's on her own. Yeah, she can be full of energy but not when it's other's part because intentionally or not it really does seem like she's trying to overshadow her members. And now, after the criticism/ hate, she has toned it down too much. People are gonna criticise( and most of them will blatantly hate, which I get is wrong) until she finds a balance.

@@Ezi_ezi-x9l honestly the difference is just that ahyeon doesn't make good decisions when she's dancing. it's odd because she seems to display promising technique and control over her body, but then struggles to express the choreography in the correct way (she's moving her elbows more than her shoulders/chest in the controversial opening move in forever. she's doing something completely different) and makes odd choices to snap at unfitting moments. her talent combined with her inability to do the same thing everyone else is doing makes it look like she's choosing to do way too many unnecessary things to stand out. but i think maybe she just thinks adding power=doing it more violently so she simply stopped doing such snappy, big moves instead of addressing the real problems. comparatively, chiquita also dances powerfully but it doesn't seem that out of place.

many people praised ahyeons stage presence to be one of the best in the group due to her facial expressions and energy on stage. i do agree she should try to look in sync with the group but i don’t think y’all realize what some of y’all throwing at her ain’t criticism at all. it’s straight up hate that is too forced.
YG is 100% cursing at everyone’s mom rn because of how defeated she is. They found a hidden gem and internet is litterally dragging her into the mud because she sticks out. K-netizens want idols to be their lil muppets they can shape however they want to perceive them. Idol too fat? Bully her into losing weight. Idol too weak vocally? Bully her into not being able to sing at all. Idol too energetic? Tell her to stfu and stop moving like that. I’ve become a kpop stan thinking the agencies became the big bad guy, but netizens are clearly the biggest team bullies that grazed this earth. Yeah. She was like the female version of San or Hyunjin wich was perfect for me as I tend to like that performance style and I lean more toward female idols. I'm sad haters took away this spirit from her. I'm happy she was able to get critics but the hate was unnecessary...

ahyeon needed to soften her dance moves bcs she isn't a soloist, she's apart of a group. there was more hate than criticism, which was uncalled for; criticism was the only thing needed. she needs to learn how to balance between energetic but also not too energetic because shes already the center of the group, and her energeticness made her stand out even more than the other members. she couldn't also been tired, who knows?
ppl don’t realize that a lot of 5th gen idols are KIDS. shes seventeen. she was so genuine and happy and she was showing off her work, and while she did need to improve, she overcompensated because everyone hated her and now they do for taking their advice. it was so refreshing to see someone so happy and excited to be there and so eager to learn, but she got knocked down like always.

I actually preferred her new performance style because it fits the concept more. Sure herbold style which is powerful charismatic and energetic +her facials completely fits sheesh. Meanwhike for like that and forever it has more like an elegant yet confidence and charming vibes to it, so a charismatic performance wouldnt rlly fit the songs vibe. I love how she toned her power down a bit to show off her charming and elegance vibe more. It also shows her duality and how she could accept and try to improve acc to the constructive criticism. Tho she clearly got affected by the unneccessary hate (perceived as 'criticism') just like in the vid mentioned. So i rlly hope she gains back her confidence and be more reactive on stage, but her new dancing style is def more mathcing for forever❤ this is why i love this girl

As someone who loves Ahyeon’s performance energy, I agree the toned down version is better especially on music shows. A group needs to show its harmony as a unit ESPECIALLY in its newbie era.

Ahyeon shouldn’t be in the industry if she’s this sensitive, yg needs to give these girls therapy to build confidence before debuting.. she can still act the same, just take a look at Aespa- they were getting a lot of hate for underperforming (especially Giselle), but the girls still remained their usual bubbly self. Ahyeon needs to also realize that she don’t got to be doing all that to stand out, she stood out predebut when she was insync with the others. she just makes the dances look so goofy now when does too much

This is sorta why it’s bad all these companies are debuting minors at such young ages (youngest in Beamon is 15 and was only 12 when announced she would be in the line up) don’t get me wrong, I love Babymonster, but there are times I worry for the minors mental health and well being especially with how harsh the K-Pop community is and how harsh K Netz are to idols as well..I think these companies should also let these young minors take some classes on how to handle everything when they’re in the public world wide..I mean being this famous at such young ages isn’t healthy for them, are they talented? Yes! But I feel doubting these children at young ages isn’t right..But that’s just my opinion..I think they should at least wait until they are 18+ to be debuted in a group..We all know 6th gen idols are going to be a lot younger than the 5th gen..

The company just probably told her to look sad and not engage in her performances much so that people would pity her instead of hating her. Ahyeon may be hurt by the hate comments, but she doesn't seem like the girl that would get fazed with these hates. She looks like a really strong girl. I hate that this is seen as positive. Sure she overshadowed the other members but you can clearly see how much less she's enjoying the performances. Watch as in a few comebacks people start saying she's underdancing. I hope she gets an apology and regains some more energy in her performances.

To be honest, Ahyeon is still young and she’s new to working in the music industry. And I find that her energetic dancing added to her personality. She’s young and still learning, criticism helps but in this case it was hate.

@LadyViolet9000 and I understand why she would feel that way. The easiest way to explain it is to apply it to yourself. In whatever job or talents you have, you would have been trained to do it. And in training you, you were told to stand out, to give your best each time. But then, when you actually did your job and performed extremely well, you were told that you're doing it all wrong. How would you feel if it happened to you? Like very critically thinking. I know I would feel bad, and I'm an adult who can process information and see angles. She's 17, and she's in a very cruel industry. I wouldn't even want to wear her shoes. It's too much pressure and so much high expectations coming from people who don't know what is going on.

She definitely took the criticism and trIed to change. The way she changed her performance shows that she didn't want the attention that's why she was doing it less than her previous performance. But even if she does it less than the others, the attention of people always goes to her so it seems like people just pay attention to her and it's not about she overshadowed other members. There is no way she could be 100% perfect for everyone else to stop commenting about her.

Ikr like we have no idea what's going on in this girl's mind or personal life. The likelihood that she's dealing with something that has nothing to do with her Kpop persona is very much nonzero. She's a full person with a life outside of what she presents to fans and I wish people would stop jumping to conclusions, good or bad, because they think idol's lives revolve around them

Bro, they’re doing too much all people asked was for her to match the energy of her group members. Look at rami for example, she’s giving main dancer energy while matching up with her group. Not lacking or over performing. Giving amazing facial expressions in between and so are Asa and ruka. Even YG himself asked ahyeon to stop over doing it.
As a Rami fan, Ahyeon, Rami, and Ruka actually dance as sharp. It's just that no one pays them as much attention 😅. Except for their singing/rapping. Which is fine by me. Ahyeon only dances a bit too much at the start of 'Forever', after that, she's very fluid with the group.
But seeing what's Ahyeon is going through, I kinda don't want anyone mentioning Rami 😊. Letting Rami grow without any eyes waiting to critique her will let her be her best self. I'm only sad that Ahyeon may turn into Lia from Itzy if people don't leave her alone...
