    Hi i really love your videos, they are really helpful. I love the way you explain everything. Thank you so much. Can you please explain opening and closing pattern in the spine? That would be really great!

    Am i wrong when i say that with rotation to the left is opening facet joint on the left side? And with side bend on the left you are closing facets on the left side? So you are not doing opening in all directions?

    i am wondering if i should go too the chiropractor. My left side l5 i presume transverse process is pretruding or is like a bump seems out of place. Ive never been too a chiropractor and im not sure if i should go too get it checked out. Symptoms include tightness or stiffness, 2/10 pain, and decreased range of motion.
    Thank you for your time
    Best Regards

    Sorry for my not understanding this, but if the lumbar segment is restricted to the right, then the patient''s movement is restricted in rotating to the left, hence you encouraging left rotation?

    When you say "The transverse process will appear to be shallow or prominent upon palpation" at 28 seconds I am confused as to what you mean

    • @alexasings4096
      @alexasings4096 4 роки тому

      Okay so she had an ERS on the right because you assessed it and saw that your thumb remained shallow with prone on elbow and posterior tilt on that segment. Treatment was rotation flexion side bend to open the segment with all 3 of its movements then MET to open it up more or was that ART or hold relax with the legs and side bending at the end?

    I was diagnosed with suspicious par stress fracture at L5 on right side according to my lumber MRI REPORTS. After 3 months of rest it is healed completely according to my current lumber ct scan reports. Overall reports are normal including all the disc height , canal, as well as no facet joint arthopathy is not there. But the problem now is that i have right side lower back pain when i over extend my spine. (while doing any bodybuilding back muscle posing ) specially it feels like the pain is in the bone or joint. Please help sir i am very much tensed about it. I used to do bodybuilding and want to continue with it 🙏🏻
    .
    .
    One thing i would like to mention is that the pain was gone after 3 month of inactivity at my lower back but i did extreme yoga streching and after than i am experiencing lower back pain again on my right side while extension but also i did my lumber ct scan after this only. So no abnormalities revealed please do reply 🙏🏻

    • @JohnGibbons
      @JohnGibbons  3 роки тому +1

      Sounds all positive to me if the scans showed the 'pars' has healed - just be careful about over forcing extension as can load the joint again - hence your symptoms, regards JG

    • @JohnGibbons

      Not that easy to do this technique by yourself but you can modify it slightly and it can help, adopt the position asper video and then you can move your legs towards the ceiling and this help open the lower closed facet. Regards JG

      John Gibbons That actually helped a lot, I can feel my back and leg tightness letting go while I do it. Is this something that if done over time will finally fix a stuck facet joint or is it only temporary relief?
      I've seen many PTs but no one Ive found in my surrounding region has any idea how to treat a locked facet joint. Do you have a website of others who are capable of doing these techniques and their locations? I should add I live in the USA.

    I have been getting this foot numbness, more on the left foot, and more around the heel area.
    I have some mild scoliosis.
    I saw a GP today. I couldn't really follow what he said, but I think he mentioned S1.
    I wonder if my condition can be treated with chiropractic manipulation , or maybe I need to go for these NSD (nonsurgical decompression) methods, as seen on the internet.

    • @JohnGibbons
      @JohnGibbons  5 років тому +1

      Hard to comment but sounds like it is the S1 nerve root and this is normally irritated by the disc located between L5 and S1...on a positive most of these symptoms tend to settle down and Osteopathy or Chiropractic will help. regards JG

    I'm hoping you might be able to give me a few pointers. for 6 months I have been struggling with my pelvis and lower back. my left pelvis feels anterior rotated, but also up slipped and possibly inflared. my Ql on left is now constantly tight, and I am tender all along the lower side of vertebrae. my left leg appears longer, but I have been told I do have a structural rural leg length difference of about 1cm. I have been having physio, doing lots of strengthening, but to no effect. I came across an article regarding rotation of L 4 and L 5 causing secondary pelvic malalignment. I saw an osteopath who manipulates my si joint, but with no significant change. I feel completely twisted especially when walking, it's as if my left side is behind my right. is this possible, and would fixing the rotation of the lower spine readjust the pelvis. my physio keeps saying my ilium has to be posteriorly rotated, I am very body aware and it definitely feels anterior to me. I am concerned that if I stay in this position much longer I will have permanent damage. kind regards.

Jerry Hesch videos have helped a bit but I can’t find anyone in the UK who really understands pelvic rotation and fact fixation. I’ll let you know if I find someone, please do likewise. By gods Grace I fixed these issues myself. if there is no L5 facet lock that limits you from moving your ilium then you can easily fix it by yourself...Insert your hand in S2-S3 of sacrum and take you spine out from ilium slightly and rotate ilium to the left (the goal is to put your ilium and hip in right alignment) and then move the leg up by hip abduction or hamstring stretch...I think you have lateral pelvic tilt,the ilium must have been moved toward your right and bending your lumbar spine..I had the same thing with sacral torsion..Fixed all of them by myself except the facet lock
