    Great feature! I love the new audio transcription features in M365. Im especially looking forward to transcribing Teams meetings live. Unfortunately this new word feature seems not to be available for me yet. In all my M365 subscriptions the "transcribe" button under "dictate" is greyed out. Is there a different rollout schedule for different countries?

    Hey Kevin, I'm an oral historian and this is going to be great for my work. One problem tho'. My interviews can be up to an hour so I rarely have time to edit and correct the transcription in one session. How can I save the editing sidebar that opens and resume my corrections later without saving the whole file? After I save the file I cannot get the sidebar to open again.

I have my documents on auto save so I believe it was saved (not sure why you wouldn't want to save your work even if incomplete) but I was able to bring up the editing sidebar after closing the file by clicking "Dictate" --> "Transcribe" and it simply showed up just as before!

    Extremely helpful, well done video on a very important topic for those of us who are Wordsmiths. Also, many of us who work with foreign languages (translators, linguists) have migrated a large part of our work away from Microsoft Office 365 to tools such as DeepL Translator, Google Suite, etc. However, MS Word has some very powerful language tools, that deserve to be highlighted and explained properly. Please consider a mini-series of four or five video on Word's translation, transcribing, spell checking, and other foreign language features built into Office 365. Most people are not even aware of what is already built into this suite.
    Thank you for your video on Transcribing in MS Word. You know how to explain things logically with hands on examples. The production quality of your videos, i.e. light, sound, audio, pronunciation, etc. is extremely well done. Keep up the good work.

    Kevin, I am a big fan of your videos. This Audio to Text gem is so good. I have been thinking of "documenting" one of the video into text. And this is precisely what I was looking for. I have a problem though. The voice typing stops after every 10 minutes. The video that I am converting to text is about 30 minutes. Do you know why would it stop at 10 minutes? I am making sure that it does not go to sleep or hybernate mode, so, that does not seem to be issue. Please help, because it can be frustrating to have 10 min limit. Thanks again.

    Hi Kevin!
    I just went through Microsoft Forms to create a survey and wanted to collect the recipients' email addresses. But there isn't any option to automatically collect and verify the email address in Microsoft Forms. Initially, I used Google Forms which has this feature.
    If you could tell how to do this in MS Forms, then it would be helpful.🖥💻

    • @wafkt
      @wafkt 4 роки тому +2

      If I’m not mistaken, there’s an option to require people completing your Microsoft Forms survey to sign in with a Microsoft account to access it, this data can then be captured without actually having to ask them to fill in their name of email address. I’ve done this for forms I’ve asked my students to complete, records their name for sure, and I believe I was also able to see their email address. Could have been because they are within the same organization, if people responding are from outside your organization, results could vary.

    Is it possible to save the transcription to a closed-captioning/sub-titles text file format, for upload along with the video file, for platforms that support it (e.g. UA-cam)?
    Also, I like your cursor highlighter recommendation, I followed the instructions in one of your previous videos to set it up (using AutoHotkey) and once running it works great, but when I restart my computer I need to start it again and the previous settings don’t seem to be saved. Hi, Everyone! May I ask....I started researching the product, and found this text from Microsoft:
    "You can upload a pre-recorded audio file and then transcribe the recording. At this time, you're limited to five hours of transcription time per month for uploaded recordings."
    Is this correct? I was fine with purchasing yet another version of Office for $69 a year...but if it's only 5 hours per month, I may need to search for another tool.
    Thoughts?
    Plus...since the transcribed text file is saved on OneDrive, how can we even trust Microsoft not to scan our confidential recordings for their own purposes? :)
