@@evansquilt Actually, she didn't. I expected to believe her when I first heard of her charge. But I listened to her whole testimony and was troubled that she couldn't remember important details - like when it happened (initially she was unsure of which year-sophomore or Jr, I think), whose house she was at (even just the name of kid who lived there), how she got there, how she got home. She couldn't remember any verifiable detail - details that could have verified her story, or refuted it. I'm about her age, and had a close all myself - a man tried to grab me in the high school parking lot one Friday night in 1981. I remain traumatized by it to this day, and parking lots at night bring it back. But I remember the details - you go over them in your head asking yourself what you did wrong. I wouldn't expect her to remember every single detail, but to be unable to remember any of that? I'm an independent and was expecting that Kavanaugh would have to withdraw - I was ok with that. But it troubled me that someone, telling a story that lacked any meaningful details, could push an event this far. And that thoughtful people could ignore the very real problems with the story. You can call me a 'troll', but you're not even attempting to address my very real concerns.

Yes, that's very common actually. Definitely more so in traumatic cases. Because it's due to your mind wanting to go into protection mode. So in these traumatic events, your mind closes off some or all memories from that experience. It's all part of your brain closing off parts of an experience that's extremely traumatizing. In my Psych degree studies, its Neuropsychologists that tend to really understand what happens in your brain, when different experiences happen, it's them who really know how to explain this so well. They know which neurotransmitters are affected and how, and which ones block memories, to keep you safe, or really, to keep you from having a nervous breakdown.

Obviously, you have not been raped. If I came forward I would get the same response. The only witnesses were the man that convinced me to leave a party with him and the two men he left me with that raped me. Afterward, I was threatened that if I told anyone they would come after me again. I was so ashamed and felt like it was my fault to have trusted the man that I left the party with. I only told one friend about it. Would anyone believe her -- there were no witnesses, no evidence, no police report. Yet a VISIOUS CRUEL CRIME WAS COMMITTED against me. I was underage and so just kept it a secret all these years -- I'm 64 years old now and I remember it like it is happening to me again. The people that do this are so evil and they know that they can do a crime like this with no witnesses, no evidence, and that they can scare and shame a woman (or man) into not reporting it. They also know that going through a trial is bitterly painful for the victim, and because of people like you that want evidence and witnesses, the victim could go through the bitter rehashing of the rape in public only to have the monster(s) get away with it. (It is a shame because there is no telling how many other women they pulled that same stunt on and committed that same violence against over the years).

Here’s the problem you don’t go through that and then write a book and make millions of dollars. It actually devalues her story even more. You don’t wanna get clout off of your sexual style by charging people years later after you came forward. It doesn’t help her credibility. It’s one thing to do a UA-cam live and have people comment. However, to write a book in charge people and make millions of dollars off of it to further tarnish a Supreme Court Justice doesn’t help her. If it did happen. This really doesn’t make matters better.

We learned the first time someone read us “ Little Red Riding Hood” but in our innocence and naïveté we did not heed the message from our instinctual inner self. Now the predator is on the Supreme Court, the dark money backers, the wise women in us must come forth so we can educate the society.
