Man, the memories when playing this game back when I'm a kid. Back when I didn't have anything else on my mind. Sucks being an adult. Thanks for the nostalgia.
To me, this game was good because it was nostalgic. Touching this game with my eye so used to 2010s gaming era will only ruin the memory me and my brother had when we blast the fucking vietcon to hellhole while cursing the game over its insane difficulty. What a simple and blissful time that is. But it dont mean a thing, it dont mean a thing.
Probably one of the most profound stories on the Vietnam War that could be told through the context of a video game, just beautiful, heartbreaking, tragic, but a beautiful sentiment nonetheless.
It would be very interesting if some publisher did a remaster of that game on HD graphics and improved some things like gameplay for example. I would definitely buy because this game is really cool, if not the best of the franchise!
Hell's Bells, the damned ground war had everything: small scale secret squirrel/James Bond stuff in towns & villages; Multi Regiment sized battles in the jungles & hilltops; commando raids into enemy sanctuaries against IMPOSSIBLE odds; cops & robbers 'anti mafia' ops--and all we get is the damned 'Stoopid stoner draftee' cliches.
Top three hardest mission: 1. The Sacred Statue, coz you have to escort a girl who doesn't have a health bar.. one shot one kill 2. Russian Roullette, lots of RPG surprise and mines 3. Bad Moon Rising, Let's try to search for all the dog tags in the dark jagged pixelated jungle Favorite Mission: 1. Charlie's Point, Just stand straight on floating steele along Mekong river and turkey shoot everything that move (and apparently shoot) 2. Air Mobile, turkey shoot on bird 3. Tet Offensive, activate infinite ammo cheat, pick up yellow smoke, Have Fun!
You don't have to escort the girl. If you leave two of your men in the village, she won't proceed. My strategy is to take Ragman and Hoss forward, leaving Junior and Cherry behind in the building that the head villager is in. If you have the crossbow from the old woman in the village, you can easily stealth kill most of the VC and finish the rest with your knife. It's best to take things slowly and carefully, moving mostly by crouching or crawling. Bring Ragman and Hoss to the temple, then bring up Cherry and Junior. The guy's daughter will be able to proceed without being harmed. At the end of the mission, there's a hostage you can talk to who will lead you back to the village, but talking to him is optional so you can ignore him. It also doesn't matter if this guy lives or dies. I should know, because a Viet Cong with an RPG blasted him at point blank range. Hope this helps! Also, I can't seem to find the last dead soldier in Bad Moon either. I've searched high and low, still can't find that last guy...
Fred Herbert I’m pretty sure you checkd he choppa but I remember picking up a random dog tag near the bridge you cross with vc shooting from elevated positions. It’s before you get to the bride and there is no dead body near it. It’s just near the wall( mountain ) near some ammo I think
This game was hard as fuck you had to keep your platoon alive the best game I ever played also shell shock nam 67 the platoon leader sounds like John marston
joseph lira lol, i always leave my squad behind then choose Junior and solo the Vietcong, Doc carry all the med, only need Hoss for killing tanks and i let Ragman defuse trap, i max him defusing skill
Loved the conflict series but this one was my favorite. Split screen, shasta soda and blasting classic rock; CCR, Jefferson airplane, Rolling stones🖤💚🤘🏽🤘🏽
Still remember it, me and my bro didn't have any RPGs when the Bloody Hue mission comes up, there is a tank that we can't destroy at the start of the mission so we went a little creative with our smoke grenade, throwing some smoke grenade and passing the road to the side fences of some destroyed house to the right of the map as concealment while crouching down one by one, shooting some VC on a destroyed roof, and lastly throw some smoke grenade against a wall close to the tank rally up and got out of that shitty situation
