Definitely not, dude.
It was merely a matter of opinion. My main hobbies consist of reading intelligence studies, Cold War experiments, military strategy, and foreign affairs. This game's story line consisted of all of the above, so I was pretty intrigued

They had different flashback montages like that one. I wish they had it randomized like that. Or even versions just for Zombies like Call of the Dead has.

24:37 - 24:32 When Reznov says 'We are brothers Mason, we are the same.' it's not just repeating one of his earlier lines.. It's actually hinting towards the fact that they've always been the same person, that Reznov was always inside Mason's head. That's such deep and clever writing.. BO1, arguably the best COD campaign ever.
Fun fact: “We are brothers Mason, we are the same” he never said that at all throughout the storyline. He does say it when he reprograms you but we didn’t know this yet

So true!
It’s also implied that Mason was tasked with assassinating JFK and actually did it. 1. Hudson says there were gaps where Mason disappeared and nobody could find him. 2. Dragovich taunts Mason as Mason says “You tried to make me kill my president” and Dragovich replies with “Tried?” Then laughs. 3. Mason mentions during him remembering the numbers, he says “Proceed to target, Oswald compromised. The conspiracy around JFK’s shooting was that there were two shooters. 4. At the very end, there’s a clip of JFK landing at Dallas the day of his shooting and it stops on Mason’s face, showing he was there during the shooting.

It made it feel real but also mysterious
Foggy but clear

@@eugenlovin6788 It's also a good way to represent Mason's state of mind. He's going in and out, remembering combat, files he looked over, the coding of numbers in his head, and showing us what's happening at the time of the story, going to def con 2, showing where Nova 6 will hit, great detail in a fantastic game.
Not to mention things like the numbers playing over the speakers in the pentagon or people saying odd things that have double meaning. Like "you were getting close to your target." The score definitely helps. This is probably one of the only games I’ve played where, even though the substance is solid (not groundbreaking, but good), the style is so unified and so clean. The voice acting, editing, aesthetic, and soundtrack coalesce to form such an amazing experience. It’s gripping from beginning to end, and I don’t think it wouldn’t be as engaging if it wasn’t as well acted and styled as it was.
The Numbers.. THE NUMBERS ARE REAL

30:08 - 31:00 is my favorite. The way Mason hears the voices of other characters, recaping just before the big finale, and the music creating the tension is just beautiful.
30:55 it felt like the fate of the planet was resting on your shoulders with the music.and JFK calling your name.
Even though by this point he’s already dead
Thought the same a long time ago already. Watches like it's a movie.
Always loved how they show exactly what's at stake with a map of both the projected spread of Nova 6 in the US as well as the nuclear counter strike by the US on Russia as well as in the end it zooming into a picture of Mason as a SOG team leader in the CIA records in blue letters as opposed to the blurry and messed up face of him surrounded in red numbers that we had throughout the whole game up to that point for every mission other mission played as him
Damn it people, the call of duty community needs to speak up. We’re really to the point where they just don’t add a campaign because they’re too lazy? Then they claim that the new “blackout” mode is replacing it when it is the shallowest battle royale mode I’ve ever played. Let’s be honest with ourselves, the campaign DOES matter. This game is proof of it
Blackout is lame and unoriginal. And you can’t classify what they put in there as a campaign. It was more like a tutorial with random rambling that nobody cared about
I only buy games strictly for a campaign and a good story. Battle royals can go away stay outta my games
I agree, campaigns are obviously a small part of cod but taking it away is the equivalent of taking away like $20 value. Sure, put a battle royale in and take away campaign, but don’t charge the full $60 that’s just ripping off the consumer
agreed
I thought it was bc the newer campaigns sucked

@Evil Corporate entity well i mean a lot of this is anti-communist propaganda. not defending the USSR but america has never and will never be charitable to any populist political system.
@Evil Corporate entity that isn't my point, they paint the US as the definitive good guys and the communists as the definitive bad guys during the VIETNAM WAR lmao. the US has without a doubt done way more fucked up shit than the russians could ever dream of.
and didn't have the Kennedy investigation in isreal's nuclear system pointed at europe and the us
@Dystopic aura I guess if you're willing to have a lot of imagination you can say the guns are very early secret prototypes. But imo CIA operatives running a secret assassination op during the Bay of Pigs is way less far fetched than everything else the game shows like the US and Soviet Union openly invading each other's territories and raiding each other's top secret sites. If the US and Soviet Union had this many open skirmishes during the Cold War,we'd be dead
@Voron Agent the CIA was involved with bay of pigs and the whole point of bo1 is it’s an alternate history. this is not an inaccuracy

@ 6:32, 6:53 and 7:48 McNamara, the one who leads Mason and Hudson through the Pentagon uses the names "Prospero", "Ariel" and "Sycorax" as access passwords. These are characters from Shakespeare's The Tempest. Prospero is a sorcerer who gets stuck on an island with his daughter and Ariel is a spirit, a fairy, who is bound to serve Prospero after he freed him from Sycorax, the witch who previously lived on the island. Just a little English lit poured into an awesome COD campaign 👌.

In revelations mason says “proceed to target Oswald compromised” Basically saying Mason was a second shooter of JFK. “Because the damn numbers were telling me to! How many times do I have to tell you!?”
The cutscenes really got me going, the visuals are great
Best CoD campaign to date, matter of fact best CoD in general ever hands down ‼️💯 god I miss these days back when I was a kid, zombies was in it's absolute prime. Staying up all night on weekends playing BO1 zombies, GTA V & Minecraft with the homies
This is more of a movie than it is a video game than any Call of Duty ever.
The cutscenes are just art, never seen before it's so amazing and eye catching, I keep coming back to this video just to look at them. Amazing work 3arc!
Mason : Reznov is alive he's with me since vietnam
Interrogator : yes but WHERE is the number station?!
8:44 that was weird
Originally what Dragovitch brainwashed Mason into assassinating Kennedy, but the loss of Reznov had reversed that technique.
One thing I like more about this game than cold war is they dove deeper into the Vietnam war and had more missions about it.
12:42 hudson with the sass.
lol
My favorite line is when Hudson yells about being on the brink of war. It's exactly how we all feel about America with itself right now.
Biggest bromance in video game history - Mason and Reznov
Dont forget mason and woods
@@mikethatcher6494 I think their bromance was more pronounced in Black Ops 2.
