As an Aussie that grew up watching, among other things, American TV & movies, I remember everything being clean, orderly & respectful. What I would call 'normal'. Seems clear to me that once the fruit loops were allowed to take control, it all went down the gurgler.

Remember first time I met you in Teaneck, NJ. Was on my way to Holy Name Hospital as a “pinky”. You were my heartthrob. Having retired just a few years ago from teaching, I was so often impressed by students' knowledge, compassion, insight, creativity and lack of old prejudices. America is better in so many ways than when I grew up. Every generation grows up, and then complains about the next generation and about the change that is occurring. Too many older folks want us to return back to 'the good old days' of misogyny, racism, ignorance and fear. Having spent my whole career teaching kids, I have no desire to go backwards.
I am also a retired teacher and I do agree with your comments but sometimes the forward- looking ones are like that because their parents and teachers have taught them how to open their minds or have allowed them have their own views. This is what a good education should do.

I had no idea Pat was for Trump and to think I used to admire Pat but not if he supports someone that doesn’t believe that marriage is sacred and believes multiple incidents of adultery are acceptable as well as paying bribes, believes lying is acceptable, threatens people with counter views, 34 time convicted felon, promised to get Mexico to pay for the wall a wall that was never finished and was never paid for by Mexico, a man that’s own wife on repeated occasions shrugged off her husband’s attempts to hold her hand, a president that promised to lower taxes but only did so for the top 1% of earners of which 99% of us in America are not the top earners. Nope, I am not for Pat or anyone else if they support the division of this great country into fractured hate loving people led by corrupt politicians.
