Love dodging 25 abilities perfectly, and then getting hit by one karma Q or such and losing over 25% of my hp. Meanwhile it takes me at least 2 abilities and several autos to do 25% of someones hp

The problem with ADC at the moment is that they are role that hyper focuses on one thing, damage. And in the game right now everyone deals so much damage that it's making the entire class of champions feel superfluous, the role is complete overkill a lot of the time. That's why all the ADC's in competitive have utility, Kalista, Ashe, Varus, Senna ect.
As an adc I don't wanna see buffs in general, just nerf some damage here and there and for the love of god, fucking nerf Hp/tank items.

I agree but they gotta nerf ldr too if they do so. It’s really annoying how if the enemy builds any armor whatsoever, ldr or terminus are an absolute must but then you build it and you absolutely shred tanks that aren’t building pure armor.
yeah, honestly I'm fine with being one-shot by mages and assassins but tanks man... I've been playing Vayne and Kog because of it and I still feel like I tickle them, and also why do tanks kill adc's so fast man?? My only problem for the whole season has been tanks. Nemesis was even saying the problem is that "nobody kills tanks right now" when he was reacting to a Phreak video about teamfight duration.
LUL I totally forgot that shieldbow was meant to be a ADC item. It simply becomes a Wind brother item or something like Graves that hits in melee range. The item is so bad now because of those champs. They had to nerf it so even they would hesitate to build it.
Dude I remember that patch where they nerfed shieldbow because fiora, irelia, yas, and yone were really strong with it. Nuguri heavily popularized the essence reaver into shieldbow rush fiora build. They just outright nerfed shieldbow for everyone, not just melee champs, so this directly hurt adc's, even though it was the melee champs that were abusing it. Now here is the kicker, they then gave compensation buffs to some of the melee champs that used shieldbow because the nerfs would hurt them......which like that was the point. So in the end, sheildbow gets nerfed for adc's and the melee champs still use it and got their compensation buffs. Someone else mentioned in another comment that they should have nerfs for melee champs on adc items, which I think is a great solution to the problem. Its also a proven concept with melee items being less effective on ranged champs, like how they nerfed devine sunder and hullbreaker on ranged champs when akshan, ezreal, and senna were abusing them.
@@connorsherlock4736 Yeah, every single ADC defense item will slowly turn into a skirmisher item. It started with Maw and then with items like Wit's end, Death dance and finally shield bow. The message is clear, if a defensive item suits a marksman without condition, it suits better on a skirmisher.

I just cant for the life of me understand why there isnt a pool of marksman items that lose benefits for melee. Like, melees have items that are nerfed on a ranged champ so why dont we have items specifically designed for marksman that are additional percent hp/crit and have some added utility? Like maybe if the ranged variant marksman items had varying degrees of percent hp damage that stacks, you'd have a lot more viability and build diversity.

The problem with how adcs feel right now is that if anyone buys an armor item, they are boned until they get a pen item, be it ldr or terminus or whatever. But you can't rush those items because you don't function as a champion when you rush those items.
If there was an item that said "you bought early tabis, so sure, you can stat check me, but if I kite you well enough, I can kill you." the role would feel fine even as a second item.
Maybe a zeal item.

And there is a difference between complaining because you think something is annoying and thinking that it's a bad thing.
The point is that there is no viable way for an adc to build ANY item to deal with a tank that gets tabi + any armor item.
It's just not something that works out as an adc.
You can do something about them at item 3. Or later if you're bad at the game.
But that's why adc's spike on 2 items.
Bruisers can build fighter items, like cleaver, as their rush item. Adc's can't do that.
Therefore, your counterplay is removed, which is what people complain about

lol, ADCs can build up to 44.5% lifesteal without trolling. Thats not the problem. Its Supports being stupid OP to the point that they can duel a well farmed slightly ahead Top Lane despite the level difference, not to mention squishy classes. And the cringe part is that they dont even need to be in lane for like 60% of laning phase to obtain that power.

@@YoShJiX I rather get autofilled to Support from time to time autofilled than deal with this toxic no brain bullshit Support gameplay. I really dont mind being autofilled to Support every 4th game. Its not that big of deal if the role is weak.
The main thing is that whatever they add will probably need a requirement built into it so that it is not even stronger on non-marksman (i.e. requiring a certain amount of bonus attack speed or something). For example, the kind of thing that dps/attack speed marksmen need is a crown-like item so that they don't get 100 to 0 or omega chunked by 1 or 2 abilities from non fed mage or support. However if you add such an item without any restrictions, it would be omega broken for any skirmishing assassin that builds ad.
Only issue is if you buff items it still makes other roles even more OP like shield bow would just break Yone ADC’s just need a kit overhaul more damage maybe some increased passive healing and more HP or resistances
If there's a defensive option that is good on ADC it's almost certainly better on bruisers or ad champs anyway
Had a game when I left lane 12/3 and first time I went mid and a Darius flash Q, R me with no stacks and I died. He was 5/5 :(
it's hilarious to me that they said they would make champions less dependant on items for strength, and after they do this, everyone is dependant on tank items to be absolute godmode, and only champs with innate %health can deal damage because damage items ate shit and tank items are overtuned to shit.

They have hard carries which teams can have 1 of and play around, or teams can pick 2-3 soft carries instead. In LoL like 4 out of 5 champions per team are often carries so postlane becomes a complete mess lol

(Huge paragraph nobody will read) I could be in the minority here. But I really feel like Crit needs to be reworked. Its Feels horrible to play into the 1 item draven who hits 20% crits 3 times in a row, But then you have 60% and dont crit in the next 4 autos and lose the fight. IMO I think You make it not an RNG stat. (example) Think like Kraken Slayer, You have 33% crit its actually guaranteed that the 3rd auto crits and the others will not. This adds a huge skill ceiling and counter play IMO, Same counter play people use against like Cait headshot, Now this doesnt automatically make ADC a strong role . but it adds ALOT of consistency which I believe is needed. Next I think You have to decide if you want ATK Speed ADC's to still be in the game or not. Currently the only ADC that makes ATK speed Good are Vayne, You can make a few arguments here and there like Twisted Fate or something. But in reality, No meta ADC is ATK speed based anymore. Its all Lethality/AD/Spells, Figure out a way to put power back into these ADCs Directly instead of the items would work out IMO
I agree with the sentiment that their should be defensive options. I think it's nuts that bruisers and mages can get stuff like black cleaver, shojin, or zhonyas and deal damage while taking more damage. Sheildbow just doesn't cut it and I feel like adcs should be balanced around being able to take mercs and steel caps instead of feeling forced to go all DPS crit items. It's either that or adcs should be balanced around being able to take 1-2 tank items late game while still being able to hurt. (Personally I don't want that, but if they don't want to add bruiser-esk items for ADC, their should be some kind of answer)
basically you want to be a hypercarry full dps carry while building tank items?
you CAN actually build tanky items surprise surprise but you will lose on damage, but copying builds from the internet doesnt teach you that
imo the issue is more fundamental than damage numbers.
There are too many gap closers and mobility options in the game now. ADCs, as a concept, are outdated. Kayn and Skarner blitz through walls.
The only long term fix option that doesn't include gutting half the champs released since 2015 is giving marksmen exclusive items. Items only they have access to. A dedicated item list for a dedicated list of champions. Otherwise ADCs will continue to be outshone by their melee bruiser / assassin counterparts with the same items, forever.
Increased base movement speed across the board for non-mobile ADCs could also help.
LONG STORY SHORT :
ADCs in solo q have zero agency .
My performance depends on if my team wants to play for me or not .
If I go 0/0/0 in lane I still loose to a 0/0/0 mid jg 7 times out of 10 games . It’s even worse if they are slightly ahesd
I think it's always been ADC having the least agency. Especially if your support was auto filled lol good luck. No other role is forced to spend half the game with someone that they are mostly reliant on to win the game and that person might not even want to play the role they're on.
Then if you do get ahead and are 6/0 in lane but your 1/5 Riven top still believes it's up to her to carry and your jungle and mid feel the same then good luck again.

Before if someone asked me "Fed Vayne or K'sante?" Ofc I'd say fed Vayne, but K'sante doesn't even need to be fed to do what Vayne can do.
Your "agency" is your toplaner pressing tab and finding out whether he won/lost the game depending on which ADC is 8-0 and which one's 0-8. Don't buff bot.

Adc by itself in soloqueue is very weak. Adc duo and abusing strong combinations is very strong. Lucian Milio, Senna Naut. Those synergies can take over games hard.
ADCs are so squishy that even when not fed on Akali with one item I regularly take down an ADC with an E1-2 Q auto. There is no counter play unless I somehow wiff my Q. But they are still dead since I likely still have another Q, my ulti etc. so many champs have ways to get in an ADC like this, and just do so much DMG that the ADC is just dead even if they are properly positioned in a fight.

Definitely ADC needs some tweaking but supp needs nerfed if ADC gets buffed otherwise every game will just be playing for bot like Nemesis said. Supp gold generation/supp item upgrades are too strong and supps can get fed and take over games too easily rn.

ADC should get less HP, but in late game after 40 min all ADCs should remove 30% HP every autoattack from tanks with 200 armor. I dont care how they will do it, but ADC = tank shredder. Thats how it should be.

I’ve only been watching competitive league for 2 years, and I’ve only played about 30 games as Jhin. Is there a year, season, or patch someone could direct me to watch to understand a time when ADC was in a good place?
Season 7 (Ardent meta) until like 8.10 before the 8.11 crit item rework. Support items were giga overtuned S7 and crit was a two item powerspike instead of three.

ADCs I get matched with: Boots and Lifesteal first, engage 1v2 the second I go to place a ward.
I agree there needs to be options for building, right now it seems like there's lethality as standard and crit "if you dare", but lethality works same if not better when you play as support (for a few, at least) and banking on crit is a high risk gamble in soloQ.
I'm not saying there should be a god-tier item for ADCs, but maybe something with a similar effect to cheap shot(if i dont mistake the names) (heal on hit) rather than "if u want sustain build lifesteal" nonsense.
The issue with nerfing supports is, that tank items got price increases for champs like K'sante and Support got gold generation buffs to cope with it.
Same gold generation (oh wonder) also works for mages and what not.
It won't matter much for Lux, Seraphine, Xerath etc. to do X less damage as they poke you from outside your range all day long with no mana issues, but it's already not fun to play tanks against poke lanes and if you then can't tank anything to do your job, those champs will be played even less (unless given absurd free stats).

The problems with ADC stem from two consistent things that riot has failed at. 1. Is the balancing of ADC items, for some reason they’re very comfortable making melee only items or nerfing the interaction for ranged champs with items because “melee champs have a harder time doing consistent damage since they have to get close” as if half the most played champs in league don’t have tons of mobility/CC. But the only items they make ranged only are ones that melee champs either wouldn’t want to build to begin with or are just weak items for the most part. They balance IE over seasons with the consideration of Yasuo and Yone, which should NEVER be the case when the item is specifically made for a class of champions. If an ADC item is ever “too strong” it’s because other classes start to abuse the item not usually ADCs. 2. They’ve made support, quite easily, the best role in the game. You get gold for literally existing, meaning you don’t get punished out of resources for failing to hit skill shots or trading well. If your lane is falling behind you just roam somewhere else and “oh well” the game away. The whole point of bot lane is that the two roles are supposed to work in tandem, the support assists and enables the team to play the game easier and the ADC typically needs to hold off on any major plays until they get some gold in their pockets. Now bot lane is more about the support than the person actually farming the cs
I just think there is WAY too much damage coming from other sources. Especially from characters that shouldn't be dealing so much damage. Like supports in general, but also just late-game tanks taking half my health away is insane. They need to go back -partially- to the idea of tanks, assassins, adcs, supports. Not this ''everyone gets to be a burst-champion"-meta.
smashed a trist xerath lane as naut cait, think we were up 8-0 and 2 levels coming out of lane after taking tower. forget the other roles; xerath finishes ludens, lands one e and full combos cait and she dies instantly. any lead we thought we had never really existed because from that point forward one q did 1/3 her hp and he would just ult and force her base. back in the day I used to spam xerath support for fun and it was basically a troll pick, because if you fell behind you were completely useless. AP supports feel so over-tuned its nuts. that combined with tank/bruisers out damaging most assassins has made the role complete dog. it's totally changed the support meta as well, as smashing lane and 2v5 with adc is basically impossible. I only care about getting a lead in lane now because it helps me pull off safer roams to help top side or with drag. not even really support anymore, you have to play like a second jung becuase investing in your adc will not pay dividends.
Nerfs to Caulfield's, Dirk and Brutalizer are all direct buffs to marksmen haha.
so just give crit items +5% more crit so adcs can achieve 100% crit while building 1 or 2 defensive items?
And nerf Yasuo and Yone passives so they don't turbo abuse this

Most of my wins this season I don’t exceed 15k damage and my top dishes out like 50k. It’s ADGC. Attack Damage GET Carried.
the issue is adc has completely lost its identity. the purpose of the role in high elo and pro is to just pick a winning lane to enable your support to move first. for years i heard' okay your role has no impact early but at least you outscale' but now you dont even outscale a lot of times because these crit items suck. the best botlane champs are mages and senna

The perfect fix to adc would be to give us back 25% crit and nerf supports accordingly we can’t build defensively and our defensive crit items just suck since it’s only shieldbow. Shieldbow is literally required into 90% of games this szn too because enemy hwei will just one shot you with a 3 kill lead with just ee qq
If ADC really is trash right now, then all I can say is: good. Fuck that role. Nerf it more. Nerf it to the ground. Nerf it to the point no one even picks AD champs. But I don't believe that ADC is as weak as an ADC main claims. I don't give a fuck what you say. You can stack all the fucking armor you want and an ADC will still melt through that shit like it's not even there.

Problem with this would mean the 2 item spike is way too broken and if an adc hits it first the game ends. If ur 10/0 right now you can go GA 3rd and you autowin but yeah I don’t have a solution, its every other role being overtuned damagewise, adc got left behind.

yes the adc role is not good, but its not that easy to balance that, if you buff adcs and make them ''good'' guess what, everybody starts to play duo bot in solo q, unless they remove duos from solo Q completly i dont think its a good idea to make adcs very strong, the bigger problem is AP on bot/supp is too strong compared to ADC, thats where the change should be, in nerfing AP instead of buffing AD, since the damage of AP supports is also kinda broken.
We don't complain because by this point every time we complain our role gets nerfed more, so we just stopped doing it.
I think ADC fundamentally will always struggle in solo q. Teams just aren’t willing to draft or play around them. Which I don’t mind because no one wants to be a baby sitter.
I feel like adc does absurd amount of dmg to squishy but nothing to bruiser and tank. Like a Garen with only deads man plate (45 armor) has 180 armor at lvl 15 meanwhile I'm lvl 12 and lucky to have 2 completed item.
I spent 40 minutes scaling on Smolder just to get flash sett ulted into oblivion and insta lose a game. Meanwhile, as a "Broken OP" ADC, I would have needed at least 3 Qs to kill the Sett.

I mean in terms of power level compared to most other classes they are fine. The problem is that Support champs and Support as a role is just way to OP.
I've learned to ignore all Phreak says, if you talk to him about the state of the game on his Twitch streams you can tell he has a huge superiority complex and gains a lot of satisfaction from being a "game designer"

i Think the Best fix would be Movement speed. U by speed boots, and evrery non adc champ is faster with lvl 1 boots. I think is right to be 1 hp champ. but when every ather champ is faster u canot escape.
ADC should have defensive tiem ONLY BUYABLE BY ADC. So bruisers can't abuse them too
for starters make crit viable again. 20% crit across the board simply doesent work in a non mythic item environment. that should literally be number 1. number 2 nerf tank items. maybe mage and assassins could use a nerf after all of this but tbh these roles SHOULD be one shotting ADC's. ADC being easy to kill is part of what makes it balanced imo. cant build glass cannon and expect not to die quickly.
They should make more things like lethal tempo, where the adc gets rewarded for staying in the fight as long as possible

Just give adc deathdance. If mages have zhonyas adc should have lifesteal that actually matters, rewarding you for doing dmg. But dmg is so high right now lifesteal is hardly useful. Deathdance effect turn dmg to dot, make lifesteal matter
I just dont get how you can be ahead at least 1 item ahead as an adc and being at least same level as a solo laner who fed and they still have the ability to one shot you while you tickle them. You need to be full build and 3 levels up just to be on the same playing field. One mistep and youre done; its not even funny.

lol bro I stopped playing adc unless lethality. It’s just mental torture trying to play adc. Seen three years of no changes and only nerfs or buffs to other lanes. Mid is pretty op though. Being about to sideline without everyone one shotting u or feeling like you about to ganked by jungle or supp and instantly dying is awesome.
I actually stopped playing because of insane damage, and supports being so good and ADCs being useless early, and barely relevant late game. Every game feels like a 50/50, even when im feeding my ass off.
I was 12/7 on aphelios and got 100-0’d by a 2/9/3 akali with ignite tp. Disgusting it wasnt even close
on the other side, if you ult + q with blue gun on the enemy team you wipe then, seens like skill issue to me
The problem is that the entire game is fckd up. Bruisers get giga shit on by Marksmen making TopLane unplayable unless you pick ranged. Then you have Marksmen in the Botlane that need to much gold to do shit, because there are 2 champs that can hit you back on top of a Jungler that runs around the map with the most gold and casually shits on everyone.
You buff Marksmen and TopLane will become a strictly Marksmen lane (tbf, already all Top WR champs for Top Lane are Marksmen champs), so you need to additionally buff Tanks and Bruisers, but then Riots beloved Assassin players are going to cry that they cant play the game, because they will be shut down by those 2 beefy classes.
And then there are Mages that have basically infinite Mana after 1200 Gold :)
I think that Riot should stop giving a shit about what different class mains have to say. Make Bruisers good again. Cut the healing / damage on Tanks and make them tankier thru stats. Let assassins oneshot squishies, but not Bruisers and Tanks. Let Mages spam abilities without oneshotting. Kill the stupid lethality and bruiser builds on Marksmen and make them DPS champs again.
And most importantly kill the mobility creep - Its insane to me that everyone (except Bruisers) is running with 500 MS - and kill support as a role (wtf even is this shit with Tank Support being able to 1v1 every class in mid game (including Bruisers), not to mention that they oneshot squishies, or cringe Mage (Zyra, Hwei) supports hitting every game top damage).
The balance even within ADC role is unbalanced. Riot says they are super happy with the balance of the game right now. I really don't know what they are playing. Coz best adcs right now are either AP or lethality. You can be 7/0 if the opponent is lethality ADC like mf, and you are like a jinx, you will die to her, if cs is even. Lethality items are cheaper and have more impact early. Which also makes any crit ADC irrelevant in the meta. Eventually you will need lord dom and mortal reminder in the same build to deal with anything. Tanks are just healing immensely even though their main trait isn't healing, but their hp and armor count are also insane making it necessary for the lord dom... Jesus. I can't begin to explain how dogshit it feels to play my favourite crit ADCs. Sometimes I don't even wanna queue.
the number 1 problem with Riot's balancing is they flat out hate assassins. every single time assassins are in a healthy spot the community cries and complains that the 12/2 zed one shots them and theres no counter play. so Riot runs assassins into the fucking ground. then theres a small window where the adc's are literal gods because nobody can kill them so Riot responds by increasing tanks. then the mages are bad so riot buffs their damage, then the adc's cry more so they give adc's resistances then they're gods again. then the season ends and riot adds some new items and buffs assassins who were underplayed all year and the whole cycle repeats itself
if ads so bad pick another warrior bot. or whatever u say is op

Yeah they might 2 shots assassins or other adc if they are fed but they are overrall pretty weak, expecially now that tanks/bruiser are really strong.
I understand double lift wanting to bring up damage BUT we don’t want adc going into mid and jg and top again. Then the other roles complain about adc being so OP and crying. I want the role BOT ADC that is SUPPORTED by support to be good again and not have to see vayne top lucian Tristana mid twitch jungle. That’s not what I want.

I don’t think they realize how they made it impossible to buy items if youre behind on adc. Perma ganks. Perma low tempo. Perma basing. Perma behind. Snowball jg always wins and full clears. Like the jg will have been playing full clear gets grubs walks ALL the way bot goes behind tri and just boom 1500 gold no biggie but as ad you’re buying like daggers and swords 5 min in the game. Noonquiver at 7 if you’re lucky. Game sucks.
Don’t even get me started on the last stand burst damage and melees being able to turn at 1 hp and one shot someone *AHEM* the ad
They need to lower damage across the board, bring back season 3 and the mastery system from season 5, remove Conqueror and oneshots and ADCs might just be the nuts. Also maybe stop blocking build paths because of the "oooh this is for melee, ooooh this is for ranged, ooooh this is unique item" herp derp... Game's been going down the drain for over 10 years.
Spoiler, they won't do that because for some reason they think having 99% of the champions get that main protagonist treatment is good for the game.

@@Tiagocf2 nope, berserkes add 35% to your base attack speed, and FH reduces the 20% of YOUR attack speed after all buffs. That's why even if you have guinsoo and fully stacked lethal tempo and you got hit by Malphite's E or Nasus's W your attack speed goes below 1 attack per second.
The role is dog shit in pro aswell, I remember seeing a lvl 15 voli with 2 items almost solo kill a lvl 17 Varus full build if it wasn’t for the support he would’ve died

At least support can mitigate dogshit adc by roaming but adc is stuck in botlane for farm for at least half of the average game and sitting under tower does not work in gold rank and higher cuz enemy will just dive

Adc is weak in soloq but if it was made better then botlane would be the absolute only lane that mattered. Why? Because supports are so disgustingly overturned that adc has to be gimped to shit in order for botlane to not the be only role worth playing around ever, and of course Phreak who is the head of balance will never allow support to become weaker because it's the only role he can inflate himself to master with after a decade of being stuck diamond.
Adc is supposed to be a glass cannon, the issue is riot forgot the cannon part. Youre just glass. And it requires more effort for the adc to carry and win than it does for literally any other role

I got a better idea, remove frozen heart from the game and reduce tanks damage early game to like 70% of what they do now, MAYBE just MAYBE that way you will be able to play the game and not get clapped by a Maokai lvl 2 or a Bard with Frozen heart

Supports are definitely too strong right now. Im fine with adcs damage atm, there's just too much damage in the game thus you die insanely quickly. Im fine with glass cannon but right now they are wet paper cannon.

I think they need to nerf the abomination that is Frozen Heath, it haves too much range it cost to little and gives absurd amounts of stats. A tank with that item alone make any adc and ad champion really feel like shit.
