  • In this video I'm upgrading the hard drive for an older Sony handycam camcorder.
It came with a 60gb hard drive when I bought it back in 2007 and today it's getting a 128gb solid state hard drive.

Thanks for the video! Although my camera model is a bit different, it does helped me a lot to replace the ZIF drive.

Great video, it really inspired me to do this to mine.
But it also got me thinking, do you think the camera will still shoot to the memory stick only without any hard drive in place? Thank you!

Hmm not sure. You’d have to test it and see.

This is great. May I ask if there to a limit to the capacity of the solid state hard disk you can put in?

I read 128gb is the max but I haven’t tested it. There aren’t too many zif drives over 128gb that I’ve seen either.

@@MakeFixUpgrade Saw some Russian actually use the M.2 SSD. That would make the camcorder even lighter. Happy new year by the way.

Hi there, what model was this? I have a Sony SHDR-SR200 and was wondering if the same HDD will work?

If yours uses a ZIF hard drive then it will work. This just replaces the existing platter zif drive with an ssd zif hard drive. Mine is an HDR-SR11

Hey, I have Sony DCR-DVD202E model and I bought a batterypack, it is not original and the problem is that I put the AC cable on and it seems to charge it because the yellow-orange light is ON, but later it starts to blink slow. The camera was not in use in years. I have 2 original batterypacks with the InfoLITHIUM sings etc. but there is the same problem with both of them. They are very old so maybe thats the reason, but with the new battery that I bought now? What is the problem? I can't find any help anywhere. The thing is that the camera works good while connected to the AC charger. Then I can record, open the DVD pocket, basically all works good. Years ago the charging worked normal, I have never had the separate charger for those batterypacks. I've charged them attached to the camera and it worked good. Help.

My guess would be the new battery is probably faulty. I’d return it and buy a different one.

I would have a data recovery service try to recover it for you. I haven’t tried doing data recovery myself so afraid I won’t be much help for this one.
