You guys really need to show what their revenue is vs what their profit is, etc. You just saying "bringing in 105k a year" doesn't really tell us anything. I'm assuming it's gotta be $105k profit. How much goes back into the business, how much do they pay themselves, how much revenue did they make? etc
Well done. It’s great to see a brother and sister running a successful business especially at a young ago. May they be an inspiration to us all who need that push to follow our dreams.

This is amazing! I just have one genuine question. How are you allowed to resell American candies even with the new flavors? Aren’t there trademark or patent issues?
The American candy owners will probably thank them for adding to their revenue. It’s not a concern since they’re a supplier, maybe an issue if they decide to recreate their products.
have an idea, execute the idea, and get connected with someone (influencer) with large channel of audience. Invest back the money & scale up. Easier said than done.
So foolish to open a physical location. WHY?! increase you overhead expenditures? For the 'we made it appearance? To have a landlord that'll raise rent if it's successful? Terrible terrible idea. Stick to the pure online play. Diversify into retailers if you ever get towards that scale.
Exactly what I was thinking. I think the first step would be to find a copacker and retailers. Not like I know wtf i'm talking about. I just watch a lot of shark tank

As a Mexican American in Texas who’s constantly surrounded by these types of candies, im genuinely surprised they have such a successful business. It’s not an original idea, they’re super common if you’re from a border state. They must be really smart to be able to utilize social media better than their competitors. (Also, I thought it’s illegal to buy food and resell it? I always thought they couldn’t do that considering the other Mexican candy brands use knock offs.)
Those companies probably do that because it's more profitable to use knock off candy than name brand. Surely these guys would be in trouble by now if it were illegal.

That’s amazing! There is so many spicy candy vendors some use premade chamoy/chili some make their own to differentiate. But they alll do make money! Everyone has their niche
I worked for a guitar company and the owner said the same thing. We shouldn’t show our process while others in the industry do show their staining and painting processes and fact of the matter is, if people like what you do and you do it consistently. Then it doesn’t matter who knows how to do it, people will come to you for reliability and convenience. Everyone can do this for sure but maybe .5% will even try to make it from home and likely even less will try to make an actual business of it..
They didn't create this fusion... It has been around for years! Come to Texas and this is literally sold everywhere you go. Kudos to them but they did not start nor create this!
There’s more to a business than that lol managing website, managing social media, creating content, taking care of orders, distributing, looking for suppliers etc
So they don't create the candy, they just get candy and add some spices and sell!!. There is zero barrier to entry and the candy brands they use will come up with a new flavor then they will be out!!
@Ross- A -Roni I personally wouldn’t see it as a HUGE loss though because the business didn’t fail it was so successful at carving out some small niche that the big dogs had to come and buy them out. Interestingly enough though I am sure the candy makers know the industry and Mexican candy they have somewhat refused to enter so my other question would be why now then if you never really wanted to do it.
So have you heard from the attorneys from the candy you’re using as your base? It’s one thing to make candies from another brand for home use but another to use their whole recipe for their candy incorporated into your final produce.

Why wouldn’t they allow it? A lot of bakeries use oreos as an ingredient and sell those cakes and they aren’t getting calls from nabisco for lawsuits. If anything the candy companies are happy they are continuing to purchase their product.
