After a tumultuous season, the University of Miami announces the hire of the 24th Miami Hurricanes football coach, an alumnus and former quarterback, Mark Richt. Welcome home coach!

I will say this.. I have no idea if Richt will be successful @ Miami. No way of knowing for sure. But I do know that he is one of the best men in college football. You can't find anyone that can say a single bad word about Mark, and that's almost impossible to find in this business nowadays. 100% class. If I was a Canes fan, I'd hope Richt goes back to calling plays (I think he said he wanted to do that). He was in the SEC and averaged nearly 10 wins a year. That's very good.

What a shock gas bag Finebaum gets something wrong. I remember when people said “Who wants to work for Alabama...they’re delusional...they have sucked forever and have been in trouble twice since they last won...look at the record books from 1993-2007.” Then Saban took the job and look at Bama...another dynastic run. All of these proven chsmpionship machines like Bama, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Miami, Ohio St always end up good again because there are built in reasons they were great...with Miami it’s local recruiting base. Since 1980 every time that Miami has had a slightly above average coach they go on a run...Richt is above average and if given time he’ll build a machine in Miami...question is will he win a title. No one can know that because it takes some luck to win a title and you have to do more these days to win. Time will tell
