If you want to zone focus with an AF lens like this half press the shutter in MF mode and all the distance info appears in the top LCD. One of the best features of the SL2.
Yes, great feature on the SL2. I don't use it enough.
I compared this 35mm DG DN with my 24-70mm S Pro @35mm both at f2.8, in my test the DG DN is slightly sharper but the S Pro images look less flat, the Sigma has good colors, impressive sharpness and contrast from f2.8 but I found its rendering quite boring, the S Pro makes a real illusion of 3D.

Good, seems like a good lens even though I haven't been using it much. I think I have too much camera gear.
Another useful review thanks Peter. Interestingly the lens is sold at the Leica owned stores, especially given Leica have just released their own light weight SL 35mm non-APO priced at $3,690. The Sigma is great value at $1,029. Reportedly the Leica is a re-housed Panasonic. Wonder how the two compare in IQ.

Hi , thanks for these videos, I am very happy with my SL2-S (with Lumix 50 1.8 and 45mm f2.8) which I combine with my Q2 in the field. I'm desperately looking for some reviews on the new 50mm SL non-apo, no one is talking about it. Is it that bad? Hard to get it on order?

Are that transparent glibber things at about 9:38 box jellyfish 🪼?
The jellyfish is not a box jellyfish. Grows to about 20cm in diameter. No tentacles. Harmless to humans the best of my knowledge.
7Artisan lenses are the best price/performance value. Yet the performance is so low that any amount a 7artisan costs is too expensive.
So the only question is: is the lense fine? If so keep it. Don't hide behind cost/performance (which should be a SMALL number, not a large one).
