Pretty damn good for a crossover this large with a 2.5T! Proof you don’t need 1.27L turbo 3-cylinders, CVT’s or 10-speed automatics to get competitive fuel economy!

@@rrange radar cc is actually less efficient than regular cc. Regular you can cancel and coast instead of braking. Idk if you can disable adaptive or not but i can in my subaru and i get about 2 mpg better than the adaptive. Also set your follow distance to the maximum because whats probably happening is the car is trying to keep up and brake, keep up then brake. Adaptive cruise is currently really poor with predicting what we can. Like we can see a mile ahead and start to slow down gradually while adaptive cruise will keep going and brake when it needs to. I rather save the gas and not trust the tech on doing the braking for me.

@@Hallowsaw The adaptive cruise on the CX-50 can be disabled, but only through the menu system. It defaults to 'on' whenever the engine is started. If you're on a road trip and need to make a pit stop, you need to go back into the menu system to disable it again. Would have been nice if Mazda had provided a pushbutton to disable ACC like it did for the iStop. Maybe a future software/firmware can address it since there a few unused pushbuttons on the dash, depending on the trim level. I have a turbo premium and there are two or three unused pushbuttons.

I've had a 2024 CX-50 turbo premium for about three weeks now...really like it. My only nit is the adaptive cruise control...seems to be a little heavy on the braking...I don't like it. Unlike the iStop, the adaptive cruise cannot be disabled with a simple pushbutton...you need to go into the menu system to turn it off, and it defaults to 'on' every time you start the engine. Problem where I live is that any time there's a gap between you and the car in front, some idiot will always jump in front of you no matter how short the gap is...adaptive cruise control is pretty much useless until that driver increases speed. Other than that, the CX-50 is pretty damn good.

I do the speed limit just so I can enjoy more time in the car (with the benefit of better mpg). You didn’t ask for it, but here’s my two cents after four days with it. It’s really clear, you can hear a lot of detail in most recordings. It really depends on the mastering of the artist. There are times when I’m like “wow, this sounds phenomenal.” There are also times where I’m like “I wish it had a little bit stronger mid bass/high bass.” Speaking if bass, I turned mine down a click or two, it’s a bit strong on “0”. Overall, it definitely sounds way better than your average system. I really like how you can go into the settings and adjust the listening position to “entire car” or “driver’s seat”, which brings the soundstage up in front of you and “directs”, through digital wizardry, the sound to the drivers ears for better clarity. I personally use the drivers seat setting and then bring the fader up to the front a few clicks. To conclude, I really enjoy the system, and you can still hear it pretty well while cruising at 75mph.

Ok so 2022 Mazda CX-5 signature owner here, mine has the turbo. 5months of ownership and I have 5k miles on it. I’m always averaging 17-19mpg!! On the highway it’ll get to 20mpg..rarely does it get it 21 or 22mpg. I took a 180 mile round trip road trip and it took forever to get to 22mpg on the first leg of the trip and it got 23mpg on the way back but only for about 30mins then dropped back down to 20mpg. I created a Reddit account to speak with fellow cx5 owners and most turbo owners complain of the same think. I used to own a 76 gas station so I’ve tested gasoline in all my leased cars and fuel grade matters! I used 87 grade fuel a few weeks ago for 2 consecutive weeks and I got 15.2mpg for 2 weeks! Then I switched back to 91 and got back up to my normal mileage. I spoke with some cx50 owners on Reddit who don’t have the turbo it was the premium plus 2.5s package and they’re also getting 21 combined. WHY WAS MY 2017 MERCEDES BENZ C43 AMG SEDAN MORE FUEL EFFICIENT??
