24:00 oh man! So many years of watching fish UA-cam and this is the first time I have seen a method to tell gender of them. So far I had only heard that you can't tell unless you see them breed! Great info! And something off topic. I graduated from breeding guppies to angels wish me luck.
Wow! Beautiful fish. Loved all the info the breeder supplied. I have also 'come over to the dark side' (lol) and started keeping Discus. Love this hobby.
Brother how old are you!? I’m new to the hobby, October 2020 I’ve learned so much in this short span of time especially from your videos! I’ve already managed to breed my neons twice! Next week grabbing some Pygmy Corys - love the channel dude, your wisdom and passion shows in all of your videos! Thank you for helping this guy get into the fish fun!
So amazing! I've been wanting to keep discus and am planning to buy some so I'll be very intrigued on how you will do it so I can learn a little more. I love the 45 degree method of knowing their gender, also love their names!
Cool to hear from another colorblind fishkeeper! I have the same struggles with seeing the variations in colorations, I just trust people when they say fish are "vibrant." 😆 Do you also struggle with water parameter testing? That's my biggest struggle in fishkeeping.
I just had my first discus spawn last nite. The couple are in tank with 3 other discus, a bristlenose and a bunch of corydoras - they diligently guarded their eggs all night. I dont expect any of them to survive especially if they become free swimming - I just need to confirm I have a viable pair (and not two girls). So excited - been waiting a year for this.
I am pretty sure I have seen somewhere that discus in a dark colored tank will darken up to blend in. That's why you generally see them in tanks painted with very light color.
have you had any experience with dirted tanks? I am interested but a bit unsure. see idk if it’s okay to just pick up some soil from Bunnings and put it under some gravel/sand to grow plants
Hi , congrats on the new Discus!! Hopefully you’ll get a spawn really soon, iv keeper Discus and Altums for many years now, may I offer you soon well intended advice, No Blood worm!! You’ll definitely get problems will your fish, , good luck and keep up the great viewing 👍🏻🇬🇧
If your *ever in Hervey Bay, A guy I work with used to be one of the biggest discus breeders and is basically a walking encyclopaedia on them :) Also those Discus are STUNNING!
Can you possibly do a video on how you got started with your UA-cam channel and how you decided what to film etc, I’m going to try and make a channel but have no idea where to start! Your the UA-cam I watch the most and would love some tips if you have any! Thank you 💜
Amazing! Are you planning to breed them? Also, do you think you’ll ever get into saltwater as well? I love your videos. My favorite fish youtuber by far 😊
cant comment anything really as i gotta go to bed (was late to the vid upload but really looking forward to watching in the morning. I cant say i could see this coming as a new owner of insta and folowwer of KFS. Btw the male betta is doing good w/ the bubble nest but i ran out of bloodworms and cant help the female. ALso if there is any mistakes in what i wrote i am russing or hower u spell it!!!! thanks. byyyeeee
@@KeepingFishSimple my mom always said that, cause also her dad kept discus for I think his whole life? And was a fav of his, also another that could live in even mud and be completely fine I just forget the name
With so many fish tanks are you not paranoid of fish tanks leaking, tank bursts and loosing precious live stock. I had tank burst out of nowhere few days back and I am very upset after I lost few rainbows. Any suggestions on how to avoid such disasters and cleanup aftermath...
"I think I've opened a door I can't go back through" buddy I straight drove a truck through mine. I found a new fish that will parallel my student debt.
discus don,t need soft water , because there not wild discus and will be a lot more healthy than kept in acidic water , i,ve kept discus for yrs and so did my father , my father was one of the first bunch of collector,s to keep discus when they first came into the country , he kept them in large acid water tanks , and these fish where always sick and having minor problems . i remember collecting gallons of rain water every time it rained so my father alway had a supply . i on the other hand now a lot older ,i started having my own discus ,but said no to keeping them in soft water ,and went staight for normal tap water , everyone said they work die , but i never had single sick discus ,beautiful colours , etc , i kept them in communty tanks and they would never hide away ,but be one of the first fish to feed ,even from my hand , , i gave them a good mix of foods frozen and live ,but never minced , with some plant based pellet foods ,which they loved we kepted blue,s brown and greens , with my special pair of deep green wild discus ,, its just a shame that now i live in a country ,that seems only to keep basic hobby fish ,how i miss those fish and my old hobby

My god, the prices in Australia are extremely high!!!
Everything in Australia is expensive. We only have 25 million people.
Hey mate just found your channel and wow what a pair of discus you have gotten 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

They aren’t that hard. Get them from a reliable source

Your tank has to be brighter than discus because babies get confused and die
Check out martin ng strains
Okay
$
They are farking EXPENSIVE 😮. Either get it from Indonesia or Malaysia top breeder.
You should bread discus
Isn’t it cruel to keep the fish in tanks without any plants or rocks for them to hide dehind?
Please dont keep discus is that black tank
Esp a breeding pair
Poor fish in tinny Prison cells
They should require tak inspections Before they sell fish to some of these people .....
Awesome videos man
