It doesn’t make anybody a better photographer but it does make you feel better 😂 one thing, you can’t rely on Leica when it comes with speed, Japanese cameras out performs a Leica but, the image that comes out of a Leica is something else. I use my Leica for personal everyday photos, Lumix is for work.

Hey Magic, you should try the Voigtländer 35 f1.4 Nokton Classic for E-Mount (there you have Exifs and a lens optimized for the thicker Sony-sensor-stack)! This is wide open the known King of flares! Many portrait photographer use this small jewel just for this feature but it is a tiny and well manufactered lens with a gorgeous focus feel as well - the lightest 35 f1.4 (with 260g) for E-Mount! Give it a try!

What a dream lens! I want that on my SL2-s. One thing I can say, when it comes with high stake events, I won’t use my Leica, I’m more comfortable with my Lumix. Also, Leica lenses works better with Leica body. I’d stick with a G master if I’m using a Sony.

I've had this lens on an M6 and M9. It's pretty magical and you won't regret getting any M for this lens. Even with pretty grainy b/w film, the images just pop when shot wide open. It's a special one and I'm thinking of getting it again (sold it for a 50 noctilux f/1 which I kept for a year or so).

Late on this video, but great stuff! I must ask, do you have any vignetting problems adapting m-lenses on Sony? It doesn't look like it. I have an adapter for M to E-mount and both my voigtlander 35mm and minolta rokkor 40mm vignettes more just as is on the Sony than on my 35mm film camera, but also crazy heavy in bright sunlight. It does gets a bit less with the E-front curtain shut off which I read can be a problem, but still quite heavy vignetting with it off.
If you have had different adapters through the years, do you feel any difference with the voigtlander one that you show in the video compared to others?
    All the best!

I have 7 Leica lenses and will never part with them. I went to Sony simply because of its adaptability but the Nikon Z series seems to be even better with adapted Leica glass so I may get a used Z5 and use it only for my Leica glass. I do love my Sony Zeiss glass since it's very Leica like with its rendering wide open. Enjoy.

Those old manual aperture rings normally just have a spring tensioned tiny ball bearing in the detent. I don't know the Summilux specifically but if it's like most, nearly any competent camera tech should be able to add a bit more tension to stiffen up the detent movement slightly. It's likely simply due to age/use that it's lost some it's spring tension. Good stuff fellas. :)

@@MagicWeddingPhotographer I mean, I was a sony shooter and moved from a7r4 to a Leica sl2s. Sure the color science is better, but the sensor is essentially the same in design, so its not like it has a huge advantage over sony. Leica builds a better camera sure, and the menu system is as intuitive as it gets. Things like full size hdmi, 10 bit recording internal, ultra low light capability, multishot mode in camera for when you need a high resolution images or something. All in all, I do not regret leaving sony for Leica, id do it again if I had the choice. Leica is top tier, almost the "louis vuitton" of cameras, and the images you get have a look that sony cant match. I mean, just look into the leica noctilux .95 on flickr and then tell me youve seen that come from anything sony makes. I rest my case.
