- This episode of Yes or No is all about the SCAR-H Assault Rifle for the Assault class in Battlefield 4. This is a weapon review series where I give a clear and concise answer as to what weapons you should be using in BF4. By popular request, today I’m looking at the SCAR-H assault rifle. Always a strong entry in the Battlefield series, the SCAR in all its forms was a definite favorite of mine in Battlefield 3.
SCAR is an acronym for Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle. How that works... it probably sounded SCARier than "sofcar."

When the actual SCAR rifle has a muzzle velocity of 860 m/s
I know it's late but they scaled down ballistic to match the size of the maps and the speed of combat units
@@Myles4897 dunno what the speed for the SCAR-H SV is but it's fun in hardcore. Just send 3 bullets over at a sniper at de several houndred meters and there's not much they can do
@@latewizard301 But see that mate that's a DMR, designed for long range, where the slowest bullet velocity weapon, the SKS is I think 490 m/s, compared to the SCAR-H which fires its rounds at 500 m/s

I found the scar to be great with muzzle break and stuby grip. The best attachment combination which helps to tame some of the recoil and grants you better spread (in the stuby grip).
+Benjamin Rossi It is the optimal setup when compared to the most popular loadout (angled+hbar) when it comes to hitrate (and its much easier to use aswell).

The biggest problem with the Scar is that is has a huge spread increase on auto fire. So i like sturdy grip more for this one as the first shot recoil isn't a problem for me. It actually also works well with a normal barrel that way. But i like it your way as well.
It may has a 0.5 vertical recoil but you feel like it's 0.3 because of the rate of fire. So the recoil it's not a disadvantage.

For long range engagements, I learned to switch this rifle to semi-auto. As a single shot gun at range, it s very effective.

After watching some Marbleduck vids, I went through each AR and Carb. and tried to distill the ROF, accuracy and damage to usable statistics that would tell a person exactly how to use weapons, what the best attachments were for each weapon, and which weapons were the best for each situation. Then, I found your channel and your "time to kill by chance to hit" graphs that you show on some videos - seems like youve done the work already! Awesome job Sir. I salute you.

Own this gun IRL, semi auto only, and it's just as good in real life as it is in game. In reality it's a battle rifle and it's crazy light too.

Regarded by many as the current best battle rifle on the planet. There's a reason why many militaries including the US choose FN for their weapons like the M4, SAW and M240B. Bit expensive though. Think MSRP is close to 3 grand.

Both FN and Colt make the M4 for the military. Not entirely sure, but I think all the newer ones are FN and they have burst and semi. The semi auto only version of the FN AR15 is called FN 15 1776 or some crazy shit like that.

Dusk the scar is simply not meant for long rang, which is where the stubby grip shines. The bullet velocity is extremely slow and the fsr is a little unruly to control. Also, since the gun only has a 20 round mag, your gun will not have nearly as much spread as others because it won't continue to spread the extra 10 rounds that most other ar's have. You will probably do better with an angled grip to have very accurate first few bullets ( which will kill fast bc of the high damage) and either a muzzle brake or suppressor to turn it into a cqb only gun

if you're going as a medic in a map with medium range ingaments go with the m16, if you're going wih anything else and you like to put yourself as a disadvantage by using a burst fire weapon, it's your choice, nobody will try to stop you, but the acwr is a much better option
best gun in the game, hands down.
don't bother with the angled grip though; ergo with a laser sight and you will be a run n gun hipfire machine in CQC and as you said multiple times - you are already compensating for vertical recoil, angled grip is wasted on this gun.

I usually run Acog, folding/angled grip, muzzle Brake and Laser. Makes it a beast for medium range and can still hold its own in close quarters.

I believe FAMAS and the Chinese weapons in particular to be worse.

My loadouts woth SCAR-H is coyote,laser sight,ergo, muzzle break for CQB. For bigger maps I use ACOG, angled grip,laser sight and compensator

I really enjoyed the review of the Scar-H, as it has been my favorite AR in BF4. I however was not too fond of it in BF3, but then it was a carbine after all.

Yup, definitely the muzzle break on console with the suppressor on TDM, with the Tater/Angled grip and whatever scope.
Great video. I'm about to hit 20k kills on the SCAR-H so i'd agree it's a yes! However I don't use a grip or barrel attachment - I find I prefer the (not attachment affected) faster spread decrease giving me better accuracy with shorter tap fire intervals. It really does pay to stand still when firing this gun at mid-long range, the accuracy can be great once you get the hang of the recoil and timing of the gun.

It’s camera recoil is so low that it feels like a laser beam, unless you’re in long range, then recoil becomes noticeable.
Scar h is king ! Always enjoyed using this battle rifle.
I use the Hbar and ergo, it makes it a god.

Fact: its pretty funny how easily you can take out snipers with any LMG with a bipod. Try it, i tried and since then, i became a campers worst nightmare

Got a nasty set up that works for me, Acog and muzzle break masterkey with darts and tribeam. Use it like a dmr at longer rangers, switch to undermounted shotgun with darts in cqb or if the clip is empty. It’s really quite something, obviously use full auto at medium
That’s what I’ve been using but I always feel like I lose to the AEK’s and even at medium range. Guess I just need to git gud/better. Might try angled grip tho and holo
Stinger913 AEK is just a nuisance to anybody, but try and get a shotgun round into them, that can be a good shout man
@@joedarby4596 For sure, darts work fine at close range as good as buck and retain more damage at medium range I believe.
Stinger913 buckshot has a higher base damage but higher range drop off.
Darts do less damage but have higher range and penetration and they ignore the body armour damage reduction making for consistent cqb kills dude. Both are brilliant in my opinion. Sometimes frag rounds can be good if there’s lots of cover, use that splash around corners, but it’s higher situational. Also great round type to use on targets below you.
Sabots engage rifling to turn the mass into a bolt action dmr, mixed results with that one myself hahah

I’m on console and I like to run the scar with a tactical light and no grip or mussel and Ima use the suppressor when I unlock it
I like the SCAR-H but I've never really clicked with this gun. Nothing the AUG A3 couldn't handle at mid to long range (that muzzle velocity though!) or the F2000 couldn't handle at close range. If I want something to reload quickly, there's the 416.
I like this SCAR-H, I really do. But I other guns more. Even the Bulldog, too, when I'm feeling for a chunkier damage gun.

Cs5 fires faster than half of LMGs in the game. If you remove silencer, you can take out any sniper you like, no problem

Hey Darth love ya vids mate, all class and smarts. Can you please do me an AK5C review. Its the only gun I can use, and I want to know why this is so (at your level of breakdown)
It feels like an all round gun, and I like my guns reliable in most situations (I loved the M4 in BF3) which I why I use it as it allows me to kill at range without too much difficulty and still has some punch in CQB althought I do know its ROF is somewhat lacking and you will lose out even when you get the drop. However you can't always be at optimum range to engage when playing the objective so I need something that will do the job. In your review can you also suggest other engi weapons to try wean me off the AK5C
I will say for the barrell attachment you HAVE TO go with the muzzle break, turns the scar into a laser on console
Gents, my new favorite rifle.
I don't quite un derstand the Hbar choice. With the already recoil, changing that to .62 and only slightly compensating for that with the angled grip, I'd say the Muzzle+Stubby is much better, as you have better SIPS and a better hitrate because keeping your aim on target leaving you with a superior gun.
Also, better hitrate with the Hitrate calculator :P

Also, I have downloaded it and tried it out, but translating symthic values into the input in the tool seems to give me garbage output. I assume "recoil" to be L/R? Or is it an averaged value? I dug around and couldn't seem to find a readme on this thing...
***** It assumes perfect upwards handling, and the - stat is for left, the positive for right recoil. The aim is for degrees off of the target (though I am not sure which one is which direction). It assumes 60+Hz, so for 30Hz there might be some differences, especially for 950+rpm guns, as those have the recoil messed up.
I always make sure to run the test multiple times so I can get a somewhat average, it's pretty useful when I can't find out by "feels" if a gun is better or not with a certain setup.
The difficult thing is taking into account upwards recoil. With the SCAR, you have a .558-.682 recoil. Combine that with the FSM of 1.4 and you'll have a massive .7812-.9548 recoil on the first shot, which is massive, and you cannot adjust for that first shot properly because of that randomness factor.
I hope I taught you something with these comments, as your videos have taught me plenty already :)

could you do a video on just the heavy barrel besides the extra recoil its straight positives and should be put on all guns if you can handle the recoil my setup is coyote magnifier heavy barel no underbarel just because of that slight delay to reseting the gun
I use magnifier as well never really use it at all tho. If it's not on the side of my sight something feels wrong and I put it on....all better
I know I might sound like a "Tripkiller" but I find the Scar-H a bit more of a bullet drain due to idk but I feel like it shoots way to quickly 😂and I usually run out after ~25 enemies.

I always hit for chest because I have a better chance at hitting my shots I get headshot kills purely by accident but I don't complain about them

i would lean on a ergo grip rather than the angeld for more mid range ability but sure if you can't manage the recoil the angeld is better for ease of use
I think HB+Stubby might also be a pretty good combination on this weapon.
Coyote sight bounces too much for my like but holo 1x sight makes this usable for me.
In my opinion, recoil with heavy barrel in Scar-H is too big. I put on barrel suppresor or leave it empty.

Comp/Stubby dors it better, the angled just straight up kills the jeavy barrel performance and just gives it stability, and heavy barrel/stubby is too mich recoil for either plataforms, so comp & stubby has a little less recoil control, and better performance

Welp, didn't expect anything but a very clear +90% YES on this one. Also the attachment choices are very much the same ones i've always used back at launch already. One of the finest weapon choices in Battlefield 4! I just miss my SCAR-L from BF3, but that's a different story. For the next gun, you got to do the venerable AUG A3 for my birthday pretty please! :^)

+doKtor ‘masterCen’ kALT I like the UMP-9, but it's not really worth using. The ranges where it starts becoming better than most PDWs are getting rather close to where the Carbines are a better choice overall. It has its niche, but it's a small one :P

As I play on Xbox I choose muzzle brake angled grip and laser sight I like the brake and grip because I don't really notice the 30% accuracy penalty the brake causes but those 2 combined makes for a excellent recoil decrease vertically I don't notice any horizontal drift with it but I don't play like most do I don't really care for making high kill games I don't get frustrated when I die more than I kill I do get frustrated when I constantly run into claymore mines without checking I am like a claymore magnet the enemy can always count on me for tripping their mine for me I play casually I don't care if I die more than I kill or if I have a terrible KD ratio I'm just happy to get a few kills and gain xp and new guns I've been trying new weapons for assault class as that's my only class I play mainly for the medic aspect which for me is more self healing than healing others but I do heal my mates when I can and unlocked carbines so I can use an automatic weapon I am used to cause to me carbines are just weaker assualt rifles

I don't know what it is. I've mastered every other assault rifle in the game but I just can't get the SCAR-H to work, I've given up. I am a console player, but I've always found a way with every other gun.
Muzzle+Stubby is by far the most accurate setup when standing still, try that.
If recoil is the issue, one console player to another, use an Angled grip, works a charm on most weapons even with the nerf. If it's still an issue, take the muzzle that reduces vertical recoil if you are having issues with it.
If not, take a heavy barrel, and keep at range. No Assault Rifle can match it at range if you can handle the kick.
In close range, if you land the first shots and keep on target, you're going to win.
It also works fantastic as an improvised DMR.
Just one problem, do not allow yourself to hold the trigger at long range, your shots will go everywhere if you hold it at long range.
Angled grip and then burst fire this gun = G2G.
AS VAL NEXT! I LOVE IT. IT'S THE SCAR-H FOR ENGINEERS

The VAL kills in 200ms, the SCAR kills in 300ms. It's the same difference between the M16 and the FAMAS.

I like the looks of the Scar-H but i prefer the M416 or the AN-94 because they have more bullets and they're easy to control! That's my opinion

The heavy barrel on this weapon is great I play on consoles I find up to 750 is a comfy with the heavy barrel while I may sometimes have a hard time controlling it's more due to my inability to keep on target then it is my controller I find it silly when people on console use there controller as a excuse to why they arnt as good as PC players practice will do more for you then crying about your controller
