Dude, this video was awesome.. I felt like I was reliving a lot of my most insane moments in the Ashlands.. Was about to share a tip about being able to find refuge at the top of the sulfur arches, but looks like you figured that out.. Don’t be afraid to climb up on those and kill shit with your staff of embers.. 😂👍

@@Beardzerker If you have your feather cape on, you can easily hop right up the top of the sulfur arches and smack everything around you with either the Staff of Embers or of the Wild.. Give it a try sometime! I have had an Asksvin follow me up one time, but every other time I have been able to easily stand up there and kill most mobs around me.. It doesn’t work as well with a Fallen Valkyrie, obviously, but for a mob of Charred and/or Asksvins, it can be a real life saver.
And for the record, a fortress with the external doors intact makes a hell of a base in the Ashlands.. I turned one of mine into a sweet three story base with every workbench and add ons, etc.. And breach the door in the center column to get the booty and then turn that area into the new kitchen in your base, since it acts as a natural chimney for your stove and cooking fire..
Let me know if you ever want to log into my server for a quick base tour of the dope base I made from a Charred Fortress sometime..
@DelSimmons That's what a few people have said about the fortresses. I wasn't planning on building there, but yall have changed my mind. It is really nice they let you use these, knowing Iron Gate being the masochists they are lol!

Such pain with the boat, they make us use the biggest boat and then put all those rocks in the water lol.
The only new rest buff add on is the lava lamp +1. Will finish this video later, got shit to do.

Bring some campfire materials to prevent future spawns, helps out with future endeavors into the land, as well as just needing to run places. Each one has a 20m radius to prevent spawns and won't get destroyed by the fire rain or targeted by mobs.
Espically helpful with solo travel, sprint with a shield/stam food/eikthyr ability and spam them. Then, come back with a combat setup and clean up the enemies and then you have a mob free zone.

And the same thing applies for the spawners in the fortress.. Kill them ASAP or the guys just keep spawning.. You can often stand back on a building or a sulfur arch and lob fireballs in to kill the spawners in the fortress.. Then you just clean up the guys (including the shaman) that are left.. Easy peasy!!

Ashlands is intended to be a war zone. Monsters will respawn quickly an will overwhelm you sooner or later. You can prevent that by placing campfires. You have to cover a huge area but it is worth it in my opinion.

Also, they don't need to be lit to prevent spawning.
@@Beardzerker You want to cover an area big enough so monsters that can spawn in the distance won't see or hear you.
Checkout Valheim Wiki: "Creature senses".
Spawn free areas are especially useful for mining flametal, killing fallen valkyries or simply retract.

You want to create a safe zone that is so big that enemies that spawn in the distance won't see or hear you. Checkout "Creature senses" in Valheim Wiki.
Such a safe zone is especially helpful when you want to mine flametal and kill strong enemies without being disturbed by other enemies.

use the fort as a base Do not destroy door of fort because its safer with it there its as strong as the walls if you put your own door it will get smashed.loved the video great job

Once everything is cleared out from the fort the enemies will NOT respawn

First time in, build high, use the staff of embers to take out the spawners before you jump in, battering ram to crack the centre tower, but now I just use the trollstav, the troll skeles clear them out real fast. Doing well mate, good on ya.

@@Beardzerker Oh damn, sorry mate, didn't realise you were trying it spoiler free, will try to keep my trap shut, they're cool as though, all flaming and just all manner of nasty. Be careful though, they agro anything in range, including you, your builds and tames, and the forts are really the only safe place to use them.

@@Beardzerker Fader can trash the fortresses, but he's a fair way off, so you should be fine. I've got one of his spawns right next to a fort that I went a bit nuts on building, I stupidly used it for a trophy run, only the centre tower and the spikes survived, which was lucky, cos I've got a captive Valkyrie at the top of it to stop more of the freakin things spawning.

nice job i like to use the hoe to build up earth outside the fortress build a wall around earth u have built up so no nastys can attack u on the ground while you do the fort. pop up on earth and fire staff all baddys in the fort when you get hit jump off earth to recover and then jump back up and kill all spawners and charred warlocks in fort.when only a few left jump on wall put down skellys the jump back on earth.

@@Beardzerker Thanks man.tip for fort base you can dig dwn very low inside fort till u hit bedrock then put a floor in and then build floors in its so good when you get it all done.I have done over 1000hrs in this game glad to help.

@raphaelgoncalves79 Nah man, in playing on PTB right now cause stable branch is broken. A lot of people are complaining they got rid of it, but imo ashlands is hard enough without having to deal with sinking ore spires, lol. 👊👊✌️
@@Beardzerker I dunno, I kinda liked the mechanic from the spired, they could have tweaked it to make them reappear after some time. If they had to remove something, probably the random lava bubbles would be a safe choice lol

@Beardzerker The damage is great, it stuns enemies and has that chain lightning effect that really comes in clutch when you get swarmed.
