When in thicknesser mode the guard has to slide out of the way. Sadly you can't just raise the guard above the dust port because it then blocks the raise lower crank 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️. So yes this is a down side but if worried you can just walk round the other side when using the thicknesser function 👍🏼
Thanks for the demo. I've got one. Other than the fiddling about with the extraction unit, the worst thing about it is the noise of the cutters. Ear protection is essential (and deaf neighbours!!). 😂
