- One family probably had more vehicles between them than all the other regular characters put together. When Wesley Pegden was introduced in series six, he came with a literal motorcade of vehicles, some he owned and others he was fixing up for other people.
The year 2023 marks 50 years since the pilot and first series of “Last of the Summer Wine” were broadcast. This series of videos is filmed in many of the well-known, and some less well-known, locations seen in the programme.

Wesley is one of my favourite characters in this program, like Wesley i love land rovers very much. He added that extra bit of comedy especially when Seymour and Foggy roped him into their schemes when all he wants to do is stay in his shed and work on an engine. His vehicle collection is something to admire. I love episodes where his shed blows up. I love this video series you make, very enjoyable. Poor Barry had a hard time trying to keep his cars away from his tinkering father in law especially as they got better 😂.
When watching the later series not long after Gordon Wharmby’s death it feels somewhat empty like when Bill Owen passed away.
Really enjoyed this video, a real treat to watch.

Maybe Barry had so many different cars because he had to replace each one after Wesley "fixed" them lol.

Some Land Rover owners I have know have owned multiple Land Rovers and have used on the road the one that was working best at the time. Even swapping number plates, in order to keep it "legal" ! Brilliant channel you have here 👍

Huddersfield land rover centre, just down the road from where I live.
I have 260 or so episodes on my DVR, I watch 3 to 4 episodes an evening at least 3 times a week. I love Summer Wine.
I seem to have over 320 episodes on mine - I must have a few duplicates!!
@@upstagedbyadog I recorded mine from PBS and they only showed the majority, I missed a lot.
You missed Das Welly Boot where Wesley "borrows" Barry's Maxi's engine for the boat their restoring which Foggy promptly remarks "too much engine Wesley" Barry can't believe he's managed to loose a whole engine,,, trying to convince Brenda until at the end of the episode it quickly returns..

I'd like to think that the reason why Wesley has so many different land rovers is because he either thinks 'hmm, she's not running as well as she could be' and manages to muck up its engine, or has some kind of crash. When it comes to the one with the roof bars, I like to think he repainted that one.
Nice idea... although, he might even had more than one at once! In early series there was some waste ground near his garage where his minibus was parked, so they could have been parked up there.
