The first one about French people is painfully accurate. Although they would say it in French as opposed to English.
Same thing happened when my family went on vacation to Paris. People shot us such ugly looks 😭 We went to the Eiffel Tower and I was 6yrs old, scared of heights, and my mom had lost my dad in the crowd. I started crying (obvi) and those French ppl were SOOO mad. My mom said she'd never saw such side eyeing in her life. Like,,, I was 6!! 😭 Also we kept trying to ask which elevator went down, and instead of just saying "I dont speak english sorry" they would look at us like we just spat in their face and turn away. Maybe we just caught france on a bad day 😭

I had a big bear plushie that I slept with at the time and when I woke up to drink some water, I found him staring at me from the foot of my bed cause my mom moved him there while I was still asleep 💀 it's stupid, getting scared over a little thing but I am paranoid about everything lololol still traumatized from that incident

That second bit about the French, especially, particularly in Paris, is 100% true. I can remember trying to walk to the Eiffel tower, only to be met with mock confusion by every single fkkhead I asked for directions. Of course I am not xenophobic, but NO ONE helped me that day. No exaggeration, no one. And I did try to speak French. I tried. This was the first day of a few days in Paris about 20 years ago. I don't miss Paris. When I was in Lyon, the waiters in one of their little restaurants, wouldn't serve me white wine because I'd ordered a steak. The white wine was for the first course, not that it really matters, because I am after all, a customer. Even got the chef out to explain that red wine with red meat...I kid you not. I could go on. I came to enjoy any time in France on my own terms,. Which I know sounds really pompous, but I'll never be so nasty to regular people as some Parisians were to me and my colleagues and friends. God. Triggered, I've been.

Why'd I read this in an Irish accent-
A connecting flight I was supposed to be on got delayed so I was wandering around Paris for ~2 hours. I knew a good bit of French at the time, so I felt comfortable trying to order something to eat at a nearby café or whatever. I get up to the front of the line, and do my best to order in French. Literally every time I stumbled (which wasn't much but often enough) the lady behind the counter would huff and roll her eyes.
I hate to say it, but maybe the French are the Xenophobic ones
