Scorpio Music are the copy rights holders, They have promised several times to "do" something with the back catalogue of The Ritchie Family legacy but that was when Henri Belolo was still alive. I assume the sons who run it now don't really care or are of interest of putting them out. So most die hard fans buy good bootleg copies from Mexico or Russia through Ebay.

@@srenjensen5735 as i say i never understood the record companies, Tina Charles, Baccara, Silver Convention Penny Mclean etc. well produced pop/disco endless bad compilations, never released their super produced studio slbums, and now its to late, so sad for collectors like me.
I am fall-off your re-evaluation of The Ritchie Family albums, a great addition to your FaceBook presentation. Back in the era, I confess that I ignored those albums. It wasn't until I heard the Ritchie tracks in the "Don't Stop The Music" soundtrack, that I went back to buy those albums ( and learned about the carousel of singers used under the name ). And when the "I'll Do My Best" single happened on radio, I was shocked to find it was a Ritchie Family product. (And that album, while not exactly disco, is great.) These early albums are very beautiful. At the time, we kind of took them for granted, never knowing we'd live into an era where no one plays instruments and songs are only built with computer programs. To hear music played with actual instruments almost seems like a fantasy, now. I'm glad we lived long enough to go back and comb through what we missed!

I always liked the sound of the voices and instruments from this track called "Life is music", and thanks for you, my friend, I now have an idea of its wonderful and emotional lyrics. My growing admiration for these great singers and artists. Congratulations from Brasil!
Loving this trip through The Ritchie Family album catalogue. Another corker here that you have done justice to. I always thought six tracks, three on each side is just perfect for an LP and love how you slipped in the longer Lady Luck which made it even better. Don't know where you get the lyrics from but that's another bonus and to prove I'm paying attention I did now notice that one girl during Long Distance Romance didn't get a phone call! The extras were an unusual mixed bag but appreciated all the same. Good to hear Discomania again. Still can't fathom why that tune is awful and The Best Disco is brilliant even though they are similar, I always wondered too how they got away without crediting the writers of the additional songs on Best Disco, but they did mention them all on the later Discomania.
Thank you for leaving such a wonderful comment, Brian. The lyrics (apart from Life Is Music) have been transcribed by myself, so there may be a misheard lyric here and there. There is so much going on musically in the mixes, and the voices tend to be a bit buried in the wall of sound, so it is not always easy to work out. As for the extras, I wonder if Discomania was originally intended for the girls but perhaps seen as too obvious an attempt of repeating Best Disco that they called in the Sweethearts to sing it under a different pseudonym. We'll probably never find out. As for the writing credits, I guess they could perhaps get away with it in Best Disco because it was far shorter catch phrases of the songs, and not full choruses as they did in Discomania - but again, only a guess on my part.

Your thoughts on the subject are interesting, and you are probably right too. I am extremely impressed that the written lyrics are mainly from listening to the songs. I did pick up on the fact that a few words appeared different. Maybe a job for me proof hearing, if there is such a thing. That is not in any way a criticism as there is no way I could have done a decent job of it in the first instance. I have until you posted the lyrics been singing along to The Best Disco in Town for the last 47 years... "The DJ's the best there, you'll never get arrested"!
