Interesting stuff. Bit of both.... I have a couple of collection coins and a little bullion. I collect fossils too. It's strange... I just put a coin and a fossil on freeads, opened up the tube and this video was at the top. Al Gore Rythem 🕺 So .. the coin I just put on... Cook Islands eclectic nature fighting fish 1oz silver. Good balanced understanding.Years ago when I was in a position to do so I collected exclusively coins of numismatic value. When personal issues arose I was able to use them to survive financially. Recently I have returned to the wider precious metal coin community though the price dynamics have obviously changed. I would probably be considered more of a stack mind now and primarily focused on bullion rather than numismatic,but I love the coins and their history so I expect to include both in the future.
@@alanchurch2841 Thank you for your comments alan. There is no right or wrong way of collecting, simply personal preference. My collecting is more focused now but I do love the Patina of old circulated Silver, Silver that has me thinking of the hands and pockets they have passed through 😎
Very interesting as always. I’m the same. I collect from a numismatic perspective (personally I like Crowns, Half Crowns and Florins + some Morgan’s and half dollars-silver). If I get an upgrade in conditions on a coin, then that replaces what is in the collection, but I keep the other coin in my ‘stack’ if you like. Not sure if that makes sense!

@@mitchgriffin2150 Yes, what I was saying was that US coins were 90% Silver upto 1964 then currency changed to Cupro Nickel, apart from some collector pieces 😎
@@LeedsLadLovesCoins Kennedy half dollars 1965 to 1968 were 40% silver. If my memory isn't faulty the US mint produced 40% half dollar coins up until the late 70s(I think 1976 but could be wrong) on and off circulated.
Most of my shallow stack silver is gone as well. Junk and albums galore plus registry of both PCGS and NGC. Getting more compact in weight but not in space, amazing how that works. 👍
I stack and collect. On my collecting side I like foreign silver coins, especially crown size silver foreign coins. Also key date Morgans and Peace dollars. On my stacking side I collect US and Canadian junk silver. Silver Eagles. Morgan and Peace dollars common dates. Also love tokens. As you see, I’m all over the place with my stacking and collecting. I like to mix it up to keep from getting bored.

Hey there trust you are well and Comfortable and are having a good one 👍 I like and own alot of mint state , scarce and rare 92.5% slabbed and raw pre-decimal Australian Silver coinage , 3p 6p shillings Florins and Crown , but I like collecting super high grade MS68, Ms69 and MS 70 decimal business strikes and low mintage decimal coinage manufactured for the collecting public , Super high grade MS68 - MS70 All the Good stuff lol l🫠👍 A very interesting video, Have a good one up there today mate 👍
I been buying a lot of 50% silver of various conditions off eBay lately. Half Crowns can be purchased at near spot if buying in bulk. I have paid about £5.50 to £6 per coin. I got 51 of them so far. Got a load of sixpences and threepences too. Recently bought a job lot of sixpences and threepences off eBay for £42 plus post at under spot but they are in worn/slick condition. one threepence was a Edward 7th coin. 50% silver coins are very cheap to buy off eBay right now. Hoping to acquire more over the next year. I buy 50% silver now because it is VAT free and almost zero premium. There is no point buying silver Britannia's and other 1oz coins as the premium including VAT is as much as 40%. You will never break even on such a purchase or it could take a life time to break even. Same with platinum bullion. The premiums and VAT makes it not worth it.

I mostly do coin collecting. Stacking silver or gold seems too boring for me. Numismatics are a much more exciting hobby, in my humble opinion

I am with you on that one, tbh I don't go looking for "Junk Silver" its just what I come across. I do really like the patina of old circulated silver.
