My family grew up across the street from Broguiere's in the 1970's on Mines street. Now there are industrial buildings where our house was. Back then Broguiere's had cows (where the trucks are parked now). One day the cows broke free and came and surrounded our house.
I always wanted to see him walk into a medical marijuana dispensary and say Wow now this is truly some of California's gold! Louie look at this get in here Louie get a nice shot of this!!!
I used to live in Orange County and I really miss those strawberries. They were the best strawberries I've ever had. That property is worth millions of dollars, I wonder if they are still farming the strawberries.
This is the best chocolate milk on the planet and you get a jar to put your change in. What more can you ask for?! I had my first ever a few weeks ago and I am hooked. NEED MORE.
I still possess a Broguiere's milk bottle with Huell Howser’s face on it! I treasure it so much! R.I.P. Huell Howser - he’s a precious Gold nugget of California history.

@@_BusterHighmen: In the 1940s I grew up patronizing family enterprises, and it pains me to see them disappear. The immigrant spirit isn't inherited. Now, in 2022, most of the family businesses Huell Howser interviewed are gone or greatly altered. And, unhappily, Huell himself is gone, and nobody has taken his place.
The word sanitary because in the 1940s there was a huge Q-Fever outbreak in Downey and the surrounding dairies. Also, before pasteurization and the Food and Drug Act in 1924 most kids died from drinking milk. That's part of the reason why the dairies left CA; that and the land was going up in price and distribution
This bussiness distinguished themselves from big businesses not just because they are small family bussiness but because they are safe. Customers shall feel safe because every process passed being watched by the workers and if there is a problem with the products it could be easily seen and corrected unlike big supermarkets which we didn't know how the food was produced or processed. Small bussiness are the back bone of any country and pepoples working on them should be rewarded with premium payment. Nice job farmers!

The dairy and the farm at the end seemed more authentic. As for the coffee place they seemed ok but just kind of fake and rude to the worker when the guy told her can u scrape off the burnt of the coffee. Like if that guy didn’t have hands to do it himself specially since they were filming .
I was curious too, looks like they moved to a newer facility in Santa Fe Springs (few miles East). It appears that LA Tradetech bought the property to expand their campus?

Jimmy Otsuka and/or his kids may still be farming somewhere but the farm and the store in this video are gone.
@@herbbirdsfoot Guess he or his kids were offered a lot of money to sell the property.
