    The only thing this is missing is a USB host jack so you can daisy chain units if desired

    "affordable" is not what I would call 3 faders for 200 euros.... There´s a gap in the market for this, anyway

      You know, you're absolutely right. Trying to market the unit based on price was never going to be a good strategy, because I'm simply not trying to compete on price. Instead, I'm trying to hit a certain level of quality and to back it up with good customer support. It's also a very niche product, and not a good fit for everyone, but for the people it's designed for, it seems to be really hitting the mark :)

    Love the 100mm throw. But I wish the faders is a little closer to each other. And with USB-C please!

      I'm guessing there is a tiny Raspberry Pi board between faders.
      Bringing faders together would require adding height or "useless" space next to faders to fit the board.

      @@pacman_pol_pl_polska haha, you're absolutely right. We use a Raspberry Pi Pico in these for the USB interface. However, I do love a challenge, and we're working on a fully integrated board, with its own Raspberry RP2040 chip and memory module embedded directly on the board, which will let us squeeze the integrated circuit chip between the faders to bring them closer together... and fix the USB-C issues while we're at it... and a few other excellent ideas based on customer feedback :)

      @@GhostNoteAudio I managed to put together few faders with Arduino Micro and it came out as a bit of a... box with 2,5 cm spacers ;)
      I thought about putting everything on a board but for someone who doesn't have any experience it's gated by at least few hours of youtube videos :`)

      @@GhostNoteAudioI’m looking forward to the completion of this new unit with faders closer together and with other modifications. How soon will it be available?

    200 quid for three faders puts you up against Monogram. But Monogram seem rarely to have the stock to ship, so maybe you'll be okay.

    • @GhostNoteAudio
      @GhostNoteAudio  2 місяці тому

      It does. Although it was 169, and now price is reduced to 149.
      However, the Monogram is more tailored towards video editing, and several features set these two units apart. But the features I wanted our design to have, that the Monogram does not:
      * Single unit, no "master module" required.
      * Plug and play, no proprietary software required.
      * Long-throw, 100mm faders (Monogram is 60mm).
      * Class compliant Midi-over-USB, making it work with non PC/Mac host devices (like hardware sequencers).
      * Grippy and doesn't slide around on your desk. Will stay put if you place it on your master keyboard.
      If any of these features appeal to you, then consider our product. If the modularity of the Monogram is a desireable feature, and you want to combine more modules to make your own custom interface, go with the Monogram. Their design is very sleek!
      A lot of people are liking the 100mm faders, that's probably the main selling point of the unit, but I've also had people complain that it's too long to be comfortable for them. If you have small hands, shorter faders might be more suitable. We're just here to offer options, but people seem to like what we offer 😀

    200€ for 3 faders... I mean...

      Indeed, it is on the expensive end. But for the professional who spends 8 hours a day in a studio with one hand constantly on the controller, they are willing to pay a little bit extra for something that feels just right for them. This is not a product that anyone "needs" by a long shot, but the demand has certainly shown me that it's a product that a lot of people appreciate and want, and I'm very happy that I've managed to hit that gap in the market.

    Doesn't the open sourcesness of this project allow me to create my own controller with a bit of luck and solder?

    • @valdiorn
      @valdiorn 5 місяців тому +1

      Certainly. It's a very simple unit. I think I even included the STL 3D model for the enclosure in the code repository, so if you have a 3d printer you can make your own enclosure. But you will need to make your own front panel and circuit board and source the components.
