By optimizing the process, it is possible to minimize these emissions and reduce the environmental impact.In a simplified model, oil shale pyrolysis starts with kerogen and is decomposed into pyrolytic bitumen, oil and gas, and residual carbon. The objective is to maximize the fraction of pyrolytic bitumen or the oil and gas.

    Excellent explanation, Sir! It will be highly useful for multi-objective optimization. However, for the weighted optimization, which you performed at the fag end of the video, how can I set the constraints for the same?

      If you need at least a minimum amount of a particular quantity then you could set an end point constraint such as m.Equation(final*x3>final*0.3). If it needs to be less than a particular amount then use m.Equation(final*x3

    Is oil natural, like mineral oil or fossil fuel?

      Oil shale contains kerogen. Like petroleum, kerogen is thought to have originated from compacted organic material, such as algae and various forms of plant life, that accumulated at the bottom of ancient lakes and seas and was buried at great depths over long periods of geologic time.
