kim thomas not dead exactly, they just want the most money, and get us sick to do so. It's not just one thing, a lot of this stuff is all connected, cancer treatments are expensive and leave you infertile. Crazy asf. I'm mostly bothered people are comfortable with being poisoned because it's hard to get away from it. Should not have to be this way.
That so true! All the kids that were "cool kids". They ended up strippers and dead beats. They did nothing. Just be the best you can be and be successful for you. Also, if you are natural show your confidence in your natural hair and you as a person. That will make them ease up.
The day i asked the question was then one of my teachers looked at my hair like it was crazy. Later during the day she asked me to braid my hair and said that it looked messy.... I live in South Africa I ignored her but thanks for answering my question I have type 4 hair and me wearing my natural hair out in an afro encouraged other black girls to wear their natural hair out.
hey girl South African male naturalista here ....I feel you hey... don't worry you'll be fine..but I'm glad our black sisters are open to this trend of going natural although the system doesn't agree with us....stay strong babe
I wish I felt this confident when I was in high school & knew most of what I know now. DAMN I really wish I knew most of what I know now when I was still in primary school or even at Creche. Self-love and acceptance is something that should be ingrained in a child as early as possible. My afro was beautiful but natural-hair wasn’t very big back then. I had some white classmates trying the pencil test on me, I felt so uncomfortable and some of fellow black sistas with the “piece” weave (we called it “piece” back then) felt the same. I guess it was a defining moment of who we are, what we are, where we come from and where we currently stand. I am really loving this natural hair movement especially here in South Africa. I see some women with weaves and I think to myself “yaz your natural hair would’ve been so much better”. Straight is not better or more beautiful than the kink. It’s about time we FEEL comfortable with our hair and understand that it’s not a mess that needs to be relaxed or straightened. Keep it up sista, am so proud of how you handled that teacher. #Green_lights
Christie-Ann Dinthe when I was in high school. I legit never seen any girl wear their fro out. And the only girls that were natural only wore their hair in ponytails and buns. I was The first in my school to wear afros. At first. I was looked at like a clown. Then out of nowhere. Everywhere I turned, another queen had her fro out. I loved it. And we'd always complement each other hair.
I'm a year and half natural. I've had a few comments from a family member, but I quickly told him idgaf, I like being natural. People can joke all day long, but I'm still gonna do me. #defiant
I went natural in 2016, and have been ever since, before I went natural pretty much every black girl except 1 or 2 girls with 3a/b hair had relaxed hair, so when I went into school with a big high puff it was NEW for pretty much everyone, I got both positive and negative comments, mainly positive, but I honestly didn't care about the negative and continued flourishing, after I went natural I noticed that more and more of the girls who were previously relaxed started to go natural, some big chopped and some are transitioning, but I love it because we are finally embracing our natural hair. And people always come to me for tips too which I gladly tell them! I just wanted to say this to anyone who reads this, wear your natural hair in confidence because it is beautiful, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Thank you for this :) Good advice on going natural ! :) I have been natural for 10 years and love it. February 2008 was when I had my relaxed ends cut and I talk about my journey in some of my videos.
Natural hair isn't low key unprofessional, a lot of the staff in corporate America, are low key jealous, I believe, of your beautiful looking, voluminous, curly hair.
Cassandra Borketey LOL I just had a conversation with the most stupidest person on the planet and I highly doubt that she's a black woman, she told me that you don't have to cut your hair off if you're going to go natural, and if you are transitioning from perm hair to natural hair you also don't have to cut it off which doesn't make any sense because you're going to have to cut it off that hair can no longer curl up... It will be permanently straight once you put chemical on it.
I am 4b /4c and i was bra strap but I just trimed so now i am on shoulder and my fro lools good as well. But it s tru that too many people think that natural hair is neglect or nasty. We have to keep work on it with our girls!
My mom refused to allow me to cut the ends so I transferred without it. Been three to four years since my perm and about two to figure out what to do. I'm 16 now. Life sucks.
good for you for staying home and taking your time moving out. if you were my daughter I would be so proud of you. take your time sweetheart. blessings to you.
Where you get the earrings I want a pair how much. I live in boulder so we don’t have black things here , just all white stuff that I don’t like hillsong Australia is my favorite Christian music.
I don’t get it. I don’t know what your talking about , I thought you were talking about quitting your job because of your natural hair. People hate me because of my natural hair when I did have a fro especially white people they hate our hair . Help me through this I don’t understand why they hate our hair so much . Why do they feel better when we straighten our hair.
Alicia big chop 2018 My hair journey it's gonna be people of all types hating ur hair. Ur gonna get a lot of ignorant comments from people who aren't used to it, don't understand, or feel threatened by it. (It's sometimes seen as a political move) A lot of older generation blacks hate natural hair too. And some "naturals" still have a relaxed hair mentality. I'm sorry ur going thru this; this is the way u were born and they're gonna have to get used to it. Learn to be confident in ur hair and the background noise won't matter so much:)
Alicia big chop 2018 My hair journey my own dad told me to comb my hair once while it was in a puff😪🤦🏾♀️..but u know what I didn't care😂 all I could think about was that I got my hair into a cute, huge puff for the first time😍 I had never been able to do that before and I was so happy😭 so yea, be able to genuinely see the beauty in our hair, wear it proudly, confidently, and beautifully. So when someone has some BS to say tell them to bite u🖕🏾
+Panda Town I knew it my mom has a 4A a texture I think it's because her Grandpa which is my great grandpa is biracial and then her grandma was 25% white and then her mother had 4C hair which is my grandma and she was like infected but my mother is dark complected with for a hair it's so weird how genetics work but I know a girl that is from Africa and she has no white DNA at all now that I know of but I don't think so I think she's all the way African she's from Sudan and she has 4A hair and both her parents are dark skin 4C hair then I mixed it also has text you just depends on who you are because me and all my siblings have different textures of hair my sister has four see my brothers have 4B 4C + 4A in my dad has 4Z and I have 4c and a lot of people do not know that 4z is the tightest curl pattern in the world I used to think it was 4C lol that's crazy I've been natural for only a year-and-a-half and it's hard for me to work on doing my hair I'm still getting the hang of it
I started my natural hair transition in November-October. I've done two big chops, once in Nov-Oct and again in late March. I didn't braid it or anything but my hair is split and breaking and it's not even an inch yet. I deep moisturize and shampoo my hair once a week. My hair really ain't growing. What should I do?
No you'll need to do your due diligence regarding this. If hair that was relaxed remained permanently straight as you say. Then you would only need to relax your hair ONE time. There would be no need for a retouch, another relaxer etc. My Aunt is a Licensed Cosmetologist so I'm telling you the reality. She's helped MANY clients transition from the creamy crack to natural. NEVER did they need to cut their hair in order to do it. That whole big chop crap is not necessary to become natural. As long as you no longer add relaxer to any part of your hair. Eventually it will go back into its natural state. I mean that's what its doing when you find you need to relax it again... So do the research, because what your saying is incorrect.
Your beautiful and dark and I love you 😘. Help us dark skin women because I get so upset and cry and I feel like I wanna be a racist to them . I just want white guys to like me, because black guys don’t like us .

I really wish companies and businesses got penalized for this senselessness.

Your title is clickbait-y... I thought it was story time. I did not expect a Q+A.
