once I learned that relaxers are absorbed into the scalp, through the skull, and onto our brains(and initially our bloodstream) I now think that anyone who still uses perms with this knowledge out there is just in some major denial, trying to hold on to the selfhate that’s killing them.

A Mommy In Time yeah... 😣 I was tramautized too. I cried so DARN much that all my neighbors in Cuba ALWAYS knew when my mom was doing my hair or washing it(No conditioner, soap and almost no hair oils to lubricate 💔) . And mom had no patience, super powerful hands and she would sweat bullets... 😳 I remember how darn hard it was for her and for me. IT IS A NIGHTMARE... thinking back.

Yeah .. I do too because many people don't even know their hair types .. I've been natural since last year and I've turned 16 this year ... I just took my I.D. yesterday too 😛😛 and I walk around with it natural . To be honest, first for some reason I was unsettled when walking out the door but I don't know why because I felt like it was nothing but I also did because it's new and I've never done this before instead of when I was like 2 or 5 but it went over fast because I just forced myself because I was acting pathetic .

I'm caucasian with dead straight hair and let me tell you - you have my dream hair. ❤ I know every hair type has their blessings and their curses but I have always thought your type of curls in a afro style or even in any kind of ponytail is literally the prettiest. It looks so alive and everything, I super envy (not in an unhealthy way, but if I could daydream!) the volume and it was such a long journey for me to give up shampoos that claim to give volume because all it did to my hair was flat crown (due to buildup junk) and dry lengths that bell bottomed in a very static type of way like the ends tried to reject eachother. I've grown out my hair in my natural hair color doing such hard labor trying to keep it healthy for 1-2 years and I'm so glad I watched your video because in my bathroom stands a box dye of red color and now I feel reminded to continue to love what I was given so thank you! I'm pretty sure I would have regretted the red because it always gets ugly in no time at all. Also in case you need a compliment today - you are goddess beautiful ❤

I started wearing my natural hair out in January 2011 (even though my last relaxer was June 2010) .Everyone on my college campus was looking at me like I was crazy lol. I had a TON of straight ends but I still wore it in a wash n go every day 🤦🏾‍♀️ but I don't regret it because I inspired a lot black women on campus to go natural. Been natural all these years and Im proud ✊🏾

When I was around 12 thats when I started to learn abt my hair growing out and curly/kinky hair just period. I still got perms/relaxers until 12-14 yrs old I started to transition when I was mid age of 14 and my mom helped cut some off little by little and I kept my hair in protective style like twists/braids outs/braids stuff like that fast foward I turn 16 in less than a month and im fully natural I wouldn't dare get a perm but i wish a lot of people were more education education education educated abt their curls/kinks/waves, etc before instead of turning to perms/relaxers

You just got a new subscriber!!! Can't believe how similar our stories are. I had to cut my hair in the 9th grade and I hated that creamy crack too. Them damn relaxers came with rules and regulations. Can't wait for more videos love 💕💕💕
