Thanks for interesting update. It seems insurers across the world are all the same. Quick to take payment and terrible to deal with once they have your money. No wonder premiums are so high when it’s obvious to anyone that your bike was repairable. Better luck with your future purchase.
Hi Michael Yes, there must be so much money swilling around the insurers accounts. I certainly thought the Tiger was repairable. My take on the situation is that everything gets greased this way, the repairer receives a nice assessment payment for doing bugger all, the auction companies get a nice little cut and the bike manufacturers sell more bikes! Thanks for commenting.
Wow what a ball ache of an experience you’ve had. Quite an ordeal from the insurance company and repair place it seems collective, solid customer service.. Interested to hear what new bike you select as I also ride a Tiger 900 GT Pro… and also a little concerned now about what such a minor accident did to the bike! All the best.
Hi Ben Thanks for watching and commenting! Yeah, it hasn’t been fun. Stay tuned, an announcement is around the corner! To be fair, all modern bikes are plastic. So, any impact of this nature would potentially disintegrate any modern motorcycle.
Ow do fella.. Good luck with your new bike purchase. I'm glad your both okay. I recently had an "off" on my Tiger 900 GT Pro. I hit some diesel on a roundabout at about 20 mph.. The tank had a small dint in the left side front area, lower engine bars was scratched, a couple of minor scratches on the left mirror housing, a tiny scratch on the very end of the indicator and the left rear footrest. The estimate I got back was unbelievably expensive because the Triumph dealer had itemised every little scratched part as needing a new part, along with labour charges. They said they couldn't repair the tank and it would have to be replaced. so in the end I took it on the chin and paid for repairs myself as I would have lost all my no claims bonus with my insurance and I would have had to pay the first £1k out of any claim anyway. The cost of a new tank and lower left engine bar, and the small left plastic radiator wing that says Tiger on it came to almost £3k. Oh, and when i first notified the insurance they wanted to collect my bike and take in down south to near London to be "assessed". I live in St Helens, Merseyside (formally St Helens, Lancashire). I wasn't having any of it!! I did some research on the company that takes your bike for estimates and the results were shocking! Namely writing bikes off at the drop of a hat so they could sell then on at auction, owners parts going missing from the bike etc! Bikes coming back to owners that didn't want to go through the insurance with worse damage than had originally been done in the accident etc.. That's why I called my local Triumph dealer in Manchester to pick the bike up for an estimate. Rip off merchants Insurance companies..
'ow do Dave! Thanks for commenting. Sorry to hear of your incident. Sounds like you missed a bullet, that scenario sounds so familiar! How a few plastic and metal items come to several thousands of pounds or dollars is just crazy. What world are we now living in? There seems to be a worldwide scam going on that hasn't been reported upon. Yes, I got fully paid out and Carl's BMW GS is getting sorted, but the writing off of vehicles for apparently minor issues seems criminal, maybe it is. 😉
Wow i have been following this Len…. It was such an unfortunate little smash… Glad you were both ok….. It actually reminded me of Wayne all them years ago in Corfu on the scooters 🤣…. It’s brilliant that you have shed light on the issues you have had with your insurance claim….. This is happening all over…. They are wasting people’s time…. Good on you for billing them for your trouble…. I knew you would 👍 Hey!…. Looking forward to seeing what bike you get next Len…👍👍👍
Hi Rob Thanks for watching and commenting! Oh yes, I remember the moped incident very well! Long, long time ago. Seems it’s a very common occurrence, vehicles written off at the drop of a hat these days. Stay tuned for the next video, there may be a new bike reveal. 😉
So disappointing for you. I didn’t know of the accident because I had stopped watching your previous video when you said your goodbyes thinking that was the end. Just had a look at it and I’m amazed it was a write off. Maybe a GS next??? Hopefully not long before you purchase another steed.
Hi Jeff What you playing at unsubscribing? You should watch all videos to the very end, you never know what may happen. I certainly didn't! Nah, the GS is too much of a heifer for me. Stay tuned...I may have another bike already!
@@TheNakedBikers Yes, you’re right, I should have watched to the end. I won’t make that mistake again. Not sure what you mean about the unsubscribing? Love a new bike day.
Hey there. The situation with insurance is enough to consider violence. Been there where someone hit me! Anyway, I have a 22 Tiger GT Pro which I love 90%! The 10% are a few minor quibbles. I’m curious what your’s are to make you consider another ride.
Hi Bob Thanks for watching and commenting. I've finally come down from the adrenaline rush of pranging the Tiger and then having to deal with the s**t storm after, I don't recommend it. As for the minor quibbles regarding the Tiger, not many really. I'm not a fan of the TFT, way too busy with info you don't really need. As for the rev counter display, horrible! The stuff you do need like the odometer reading is tucked away, hidden almost. The actual size of the digits for the clock, temperature, etc are too small. I'd wish Triumph would sort that with a software update. The Triumph Connectivity is challenging and the sat nav within it isn't great. I didn't like the DIN socket, what's wrong with a normal 12v socket Triumph? Would it be enough to consider another bike? Stay tuned to find out, all will be revealed soon.
Just a thought. Before buying something too shiny it may pay you to find out what the insurance premium is going to now be on something similar to your old bike. You may get a surprise and not in a good way. Best of luck.
Disgraceful treatment - not what you need after the trauma of the accident. Sadly it doesn’t appear that you experience is unique to Australia, I’ve heard many stories not too dissimilar to yours from friends and acquaintances in the uk. Good luck with the new bike purchase, I’ll be looking out for the next video mate!
Hi zaphod139 Is there a worldwide scam going on? Are bike manufacturers in on it? Or am I just cynical? Thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated!
I know the company well...to well. I'm now more scared of ever having to deal with them again than actually being hit by a car. Same thing happened to me, you and many many others. Bike written off, sold asap without your knowledge, your stuff sold with it and then low balled for the value.
Hi Jimb0b1111 Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Something does smell a bit fishy! I was fortunate enough to be able to remove my items from the bike though, thankful for small mercies.
Thanks for interesting update.

Hope your ok. I've got me test in two weeks and plan on getting a tiger in march.
Hi ChipZilla69
Thanks, we’re fine.
Good luck with the test! Let us know how you go.
The Tiger is a fantastic bike.

Hi Jeff
My apologies, I’d misunderstood your first comment and took it you’d unsubscribed. More videos coming soon, stay tuned. 👍🏻
Shocking
