ALL OF THIS! My particular Costco in Cincinnati has been flooded with a group of batch grabbers. They were starting to return large batches because “it wouldn’t fit in their car” then getting the Costco cash cards. Then the batch would be rereleased & another in the group would grab it. I alerted the manager & he took some photos. Basically the store said it’s not their problem it’s instacart’s. The group confronted a friend of mine screaming at him in the store. He got a supervisor. The supervisor stated in front of the group(they have 1 guy to translate into Spanish for the rest of the group) that they do not care but that all would be banned from the store if confrontations happen again. The very next morning 15 of them showed up when it was normally 4-5. They sit just inside the store with 10+phones latex out. Not one of them scrolling or swiping for orders. Just a ding on the phone & then the ring leader chooses who will shop it. They also sometimes shop an order & pass off to someone In the parking lot & then head inside for another order. All while us vetted, legal, background checked honest shoppers sit with ZERO orders.

It's now against Costco policy to allow them to sit inside. That's ridiculous they aren't enforcing the policy. Maybe It would be a good idea to ask chat support to give you a tear 3 or 4 support person or an email to let them know about this problem that Costco is not taking care of.

How is it not the store’s problem if they just have them a free gift card to return everything? So they get paid by instacart (which is Instacart’s problem) but, they get to cash in on a refund from the store too affecting their bottom line? That’s messed up and the store manager should be brought to task about it. There’s more to everything than just store revenue per location. Refunds of that magnitude make you look less successful in the long run. If the scammers were smart, they’d pick up on the stupidity of the Costco staff and management just to take batches, pay and return them to get Costco gift cards instead. You can resell gift cards or cash them in online.

I'm quite fine with IC shoppers of any kind - because there are so many 'mericans who would bring deadly Covid to my door, we have them leave the items for no-contact delivery (and later wipe-down! Covid lives a week on plastic, like most other viruses). But, hey, you want to make money stirring up fear and, seeing the other comments you're supporting, racism. Time to hang up your shopping bag and get a job with the Proud Boys. Who, by the way, would also have to leave my items without contact.

By law, Instacart can’t discriminate against people with criminal records after a specific period of time has lapsed. But I certainly don’t want a reformed killer showing up on my doorstep. That’s why I shop for my family.

I think Instacart should have a "No contact" policy. That way, the customer and shopper are safe. The other thing that is problematic is customers who allow their dogs to approach and pick all over you with no regard for the shopper's personal space. Honestly, it works both ways. I took that picture of the Shopper with three phones. It was at Vincente Foods in Brentwood California. We are completely overrun here in Los Angeles with people using multiple phones and other peoples accounts. This guy told me he pays $850 a month to other people to use their accounts. Even if somebody reports him and he got canceled, he still has options to get other peoples accounts and continue working. Instacart does nothing about this. There is even a couple who shops at the Westwood ralphs, who use multiple phones, and run it like it well oiled machine. The husband and wife will shop, sometimes the daughter as well and her Andrew husband, they will all shop all check out at the same time, and then load everything into the car, husband will go deliver while everyone else goes back into the store after they have swapped to new phones and except more orders. When the husband comes back, he either finishes shopping or they check out and do it again. Over and over again. Usually it’s just a husband and wife, using other peoples phones they just keep the cycle going over and over again. Shop, check out, he delivers while she goes back in and excepts multiple orders on different phones. They have been reported in Instacart does nothing about it.

First off, I think you're great Jen. I don't want to criticize, but I do disagree. You haven't said anything that's wrong on its face, but I do question the real motives behind your video. If bots weren't taking money away from instacart shoppers, just how passionate would the argument be against them for safety reasons. I don't believe there is a widespread safety issue because of the bot accounts. In fact a family of 3 with 3 phones could all be signed up as instacart shoppers and while the swapping is against the rules, they could all be vetted. It's speculative at best. And the solution to the "safety issue" that this poses is also the one with the best financial benefit for drivers like us? Again, great videos, I don't think you're wrong per se, but it feels like getting rid of bots is the desired outcome and not actual safety improvements.

I’m conflicted on this one. If someone serves time in prison, they paid for there crime, if they are not given a chance to make an honest living than they’ll just go back in committing more crimes and possibly someone getting hurt during there crime and then they will going back to prison. If the person was in prison for murder, why did they let him out? There has to be a broader back story than that, circumstances behind the crime. I think it’s a little bigoted in not giving an ex con a second chance in life to make themselves better for them and society. Regardless of Instacart hiring ex cons or not, customers should be aware of everyone who delivers to them. Not every criminal has been to jail. There are plenty out there who just haven’t been caught yet.

Even the grocery stores hire former criminals and if a person really wants to get your info, they can do it. I agree about the fake accounts and bots but not that if you've committed a crime not have a chance to work at instacart, maybe not with a murder charge but therre are other petty crimes other have committed that could honestly be regretful of and changed.

??? I’m surprised at this video. It’s totally not fair, I’m not ok with it as a shopper. 😡
It makes it seem like you’re trying to make all shoppers look suspicious of being sketchy people.
Yeah, but, what about us who are decent people with no past criminal records?
    What about our “safety?”
We don’t know what the “background” of the customers we’re delivering for is either.
I had some encounters with some real sketchy customers.
One house, I’m pretty sure was a drug dealer’s house. The girl opened the door, and the smell of pot was so bad that I had to go home afterwards, take a shower and wash my clothes.
Then, while I was trying to give her her groceries, a car pulls up and has 3 guys in it that all looked like Mr. T. A guy came out of the house and was really annoyed that I had my car in the driveway. It was a very uneasy situation for me.
Another customer, was a total obnoxious jerk, looked like he hated me, and then, he wanted me to take all his recyclable plastic bags back to the grocery store. 😖
Another friend that does Instacart, said she went to deliver a small order to a guy’s trailer in the later-evening, he had the windows boarded up, no lights on outside, chickens running around in the front yard, and then, cussed at her (through text) because she wouldn’t bring the order IN his house!
It’s not fair either that Instacart doesn’t do background checks on their customers too, like they do their shoppers. (To what extent, I don’t know.)
WE ARE AT RISK too, by going to a strangers house, just as much as the customer is by having a stranger deliver to them!
This goes for any delivery platform whether Instacart, Shipt, Door Dash etc..!
I’m very unhappy how you presented this video as a way for customers to deem shoppers as untrustworthy!

Same as a sex offender. An 18yr old who dated and had sex with a 17 can be given that title and required to register..."murderers" can be accidental/negligent, vehicular, DUI, DV, etc. Not saying that's ok by any means but their "crime" may be very specific and frankly, they have a right to privacy too. I mean, think about all the repairmen, plumbers, electricians, restaurant servers, mechanics that we interact with on the daily that very well may have a past and we aren't told about...they too have access to our food, homes, cars, account info, etc...

Third thing is, how long should we wait to start another Instacart Lawsuit?.. With my research on the company they seem more and more like “Federal Express Inc.” whom I had the pleasure of working for and suing as well. Instacart seems to be using the same ‘formula’ it appears, which is to “Front” that you care about the customers and your employees all while essentially running a slave trade program that traps most unsuspecting human beings. Unless there are some humans out there like myself that are willing to set them straight in district 9 court where they reside and I happen to live, then I’m guessing nothing will be done about this specific issue that you speak about. Most companies similar in fashion will not create the change needed until you literally shove them against the corporate wall and serve them with legal documents. Unfortunately this is what we are faced with even in difficult times, Crappy human beings running a slave trade platform while they are the ones taking in the big profit!.. I watched the video with that new CEO lady and it made me sick literally.. I won’t put it past myself to seek out a personal interview with her, however if she knew my intentions she would decline for sure. Keep fighting and the change will happen with a poke of “public humiliation” for those running Instacart. Never ever doubt the power of social media in this day and age as it’s a powerful tool for human beings. 🙏🏼

On the other hand, a person who has paid the price for their crimes has earned a right to a second chance. @AL-ul6uk 2 роки тому +2

Hi Jen! It looks like your video got so many comments, so this might have been mentioned already (just that I didn't see it when scrolling through the first few pages). This video can give multiple misconceptions about bots and multiple phones, so I just wanted to clear a few things up. 1) You do not need more than just 1 phone to run a bot. I know how bots work and could actually write one myself if I really wanted to, being that I'm in the software field. It's just not worth it for me to do so and money isn't everything (referencing your previous video on my wife's breast cancer). Bots are not the same as unvetted shoppers. Sure people have in the past paid for a service that takes all the orders on other accounts and given them to non-vetted shoppers, but to actually run a bot, you can have your own vetted account and the regular Instacart shopper app, and then just run a bot app on top of it. Again, I'm against the use of bots as it makes it unfair for all other shoppers, but I'm just saying it doesn't mean the bots are unvetted or need to use multiple phones. 2) I have multiple phones on me all the time, and I've had other shoppers come up to me accusing me of using a "bot". However, one of my phones is my work phone, and I can get called on it from work at any time. My other phone is my phone that I use for Instacart. Finally, regarding the picture of the guy with 3 phones, I've had 3 phones on me, and did at the time that someone accused me of being a bot. Remember your video of Instacart making shoppers wait at the store in order to see batches? So sometimes I could be shopping a batch on my account (1st phone), then I have my work phone on me, not running Instacart (2nd phone), and then I'll bring my wife's phone with me while she's at the gym half a mile away. Why? So that she doesn't have to wait outside in the parking lot to see batches. If something good comes up while I'm shopping, she'll be there within 5 minutes to shop the batch. Now in the picture that you shared, that guy was obviously running 3 Instacart shopper apps on 3 phones, but he was only shopping on one of them. The other 2 were showing no batches. I'm just saying that this may have nothing to do with bots, and he just had multiple phones with multiple accounts. Personally, I think it would be so stressful shopping 2 different batches (especially multiple order batches) at the same time. If people could actually pull that off, more power to them. However, just because a person has more than 1 phone doesn't mean they are using fake accounts or bots. Finally, love your content, but this video makes people make the wrong assumptions without actually knowing how it all works.

Hey Jen, as always, it's AWESOME to see you. Hey, a few days ago(June 9th), I noticed that they have a "NEW SELFIE" random check-in, have you seen it! You have to look in to the camera, SNAP A PIC, turn left, SNAP A PIC and then turn right and of course SNAP A PIC!! I think they are doing this so the people who are using other shopper's accounts, can't use a hard copy picture of the actual shopper.
I don't know what makes them think they won't have all 3 hard copy pics available! Why not have us do live videos! Idk Sis, I'm just so sick of the BOT rat race. 🐀

I don't understand how people get through to the app. When I log out after a while I need to take a picture to verify it's me, and now when I shop I have to sign. How does a bot get through the app when you need to send pics of your ID? I definitely seen people using more than one phone. I watched a guy ask another instacart shopper to log in to his phone to pick up some orders. It's crazy how unfair this system is. I can go and wait over an hour for an order, but watch this same guy shop multiple orders at a time drop off come back and shop more without me or anyone waiting getting a single order. 🙄

Hey Jen, when people are reporting these issues to instacart care, it is important to note that the agent is providing the complainant with a FAKE ticket number. The report is never filed. You need to keep record of the chat by screenshot or screen-recording. Not the people coming and going from the chat as well. Ask for a supervisor. If you can’t reach one in the chat because they’re refusing to allow you to speak with someone above them, CALL instacart. There are ways to do it. I have had to it myself which is why I’m able to mention the fake ticket number issue. I’m chat, the agents have the ability to request photos and VIDEO. You can post the screen recording if you have it, and it will be forwarded to a manager rather than stopping just short at the team leader or supervisor of the group.

A lot of the current drivers may have committed crimes and never got caught. Singling put someone who committed a crime 20 years ago isn’t fair to that driver. You are creating fear and doubt based on two drivers out of the thousands of shoppers out there. I think you should check yourself and keep an open mind before talking about instacart and their shoppers. You are the problem along with many people in society that put labels on someone without knowing the cormcumstances and details of why they have a criminal record. Maybe do some research and have a little more compassion for the people who may have made a mistake 20 years ago that are trying to be a positive influence in the community.

I don’t know if that is correct though. If that is the case u now have an institutionalized convicted murder delivering ur groceries. 100% believe that people who have been in prison should get a fair shake when they r released. However there should certainly be some stipulations upon release and there usually are. Regardless of the fact that they have served their time. It’s not that simple. Trust still has to be earned back. Would u hire someone u don’t know to house sit for u who was just released from prison for burglary? Just toss them the keys and say cool. Call me a jerk if u like, but I don’t want felons delivering anything to my house. Especially since my husband is a law enforcement officer. Too many people without criminal records hate law enforcement. If ur cool with it then let them deliver to u. Why don’t u have them babysit ur kids too. As for me I must say “No thank u kind sir”.
