As Chinese low cost tablets go this one looks to be pretty well supported by the company. They have full drivers and drive images available for download on their website and the device itself performs well.
It does look better on camera than it does in person. It is made from mostly aluminum but the components themselves don't feel as nice as more premium products do. My screen had some blemishes on it that concerned me. But overall image quality on the IPS display was pretty decent.
It has 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB storage and an Atom Cherry Trail X5 z8300 processor. It performs well but lagged a bit in gaming compared to other devices I tested running with the same chip.
In short it's a good value for what it is. But I would be cautious given the security issues with the Windows installation and the ability to get support from the company that is very far away.

Me too. Fact that it's from China, all those customs and warranty issues prevent me from hitting that "Buy Now" button. 'Cause once it's busted, you're in for a long ride.

Both have been working great so far .

Hi Lon. Hey the imperfections in the screen are actually air bubbles in the factory-applied screen protector. I'm seeing reviewers and folks in the various forums have discovered that. You'd think the first cover with branding on it was the protective cover, but they put a 2nd one directly on the glass. Hey, maybe it won't be as much of a fingerprint magnet on the bare glass too!
The thing that bums me out about these windows/ android hybrid devices is that windows gets updated where as the android version typically never gets an upgrade. I had an old acer netbook that dual booted windows 7 and android 2.2 and today the windows side of things works perfectly fine but android 2.2 is useless for everything today. I feel like the same thing is going to happen with this device but to a greater extent since microsoft is constantly going to update windows 10 rather than release new windows versions but we will still have only android 5.1. Can the android partition be removed completely to regain some hard drive space? Another thing I am wondering is can someone go and buy a copy of windows 10 American from one of those cheap sites like kinguin and install that to have american windows on this tablet?
Any tech more than 6 month old is outdated these days. I'm guessing your Acer must be 4 years old or more?
I have that same unit. I paid $40 CDN for it with the keyboard but it doesn't come with Android for some reason. I'm going to install Ubuntu Touch on it , or at least try to

In the future, I'd love to see more of an apples to apples comparison between Android and Windows. i.e. use Windows in tablet mode, download Asphalt 8 and try the Windows version. I suspect gaming pert in Windows will be just as good as Android if using Windows Store games vs desktop style games like Minecraft.

They, Gearbest and Whoever, agree to sell you special versions set up in English. You take a cut, they become more legit, and we (the users) don't inherit unnecessary headaches.
you need to hook up a joystick to that thing and play the need for speed again. then talk specifically about how one program that may or may not work in a compact on a tablet in android might do better in windows because each one usually has a version of its own. so test them out for us.

Hello ! I am interested in dual OS tablets so that I can work with Windows and play with Android.
I have seen brands that offer this system : Chuwi, Teclast, Onda, Doallcube, Yonis, ... sometimes satisfactory and sometimes not.
What about in 2022 ? Are there any good tablets ? What do you advise ?
Does the Windows side allow you to download any software like a real computer ? Important for work !
And about gaming, is it good enough ?
Will the 2 OS update ? Because often I see Windows 10 and a much older Android.

If you want to test it out video playback, download a 1080p or make a 4k video and install vlc player. It will read from memory space not network. I have test mine. It has a little lag but not too bad.

get a wacom pen for drawing on it and you got my business and i just bought a dragon touch octo core from walmart online to test its gif animator and drawing program compatibilities.
The ones available in the UK come with a pen all for £240 gbp. maybe because Chuwi sent this free they didn't send him the pen??
It's a shame that Intel will no longer be making the Atom CPUs! What will happen with the low end machines? I could be wrong but I don't see AMD doing much of anything in the low end machines. That said it maybe they don't feel the need to!
+iamrlk69 sad news indeed, Cherry Trail is still very underpowered compared to Intel Core m3 which is the CPU that comes on the Surface Pro 4. The only issue about Intel Core M (Skylake) is the price.

Switching to Qualcomm Snapdragon instead from what I have read. However, no windows support anymore. Remix OS is best operating system to use as replacement.

I just got mine yesterday. so far so good. running smooth. I have not run into any of the WiFi issues I been reading about.

So far, so good.I have not notice any screen issues yet. I just started playing knights of the old republic and it runs just fine. I'm happy.

I hear they are both good, but I think only cube supports a stylish pen. Make sure you get a good comparison.

Does Chuwi Hibook have an user-accessible BIOS? Can I boot another operating system (ubuntu) from SD card? Or from USB stick? I know another system is not officially supported but do we have the this freedom? Also, I read on the internet that the chipset has SD card boot limitations.
Did you try running a 4-port USB 3.x hub on it while it was charging? I've never had a computer that charges from a USB port. I'd like to know if you can use external USB Flash, HDDs, and optical drives in that configuration.

Thanks for this video, I think now that Chromebooks will support running Android apps in Fall 2016, Microsoft's alternative to avoid loosing marketshare is to ask OEMs to add a small 16GB partition to run Android apps.
At first instance some would thought that this does benefit Google also, but it is less damage than letting OEMs go full with ChromeOS without any option to run Windows.

I was wondering if I use an otg cable on the micro USB 2.0 port would that support an external hard drive because storage is a big factor for me in deciding which tablet to buy great video by the way.

I agree, however, I have never actually seen/owned a device that had the screen brightness to be clearly visible outdoors when the sun is at full strength.
+Hugh Dinwiddie I don't have this specific model, but I do have the Chuwi Hi 8 Pro, that I've used with my Phantom during the daylight. It works.... but not so well. It quickly gets washed out by the sun, and makes things quite hard to see what's going on. I kept having to duck under a tree or under the overhang of my vehicle's lift gate to get some shadow to get a better idea of what was going on.
Compared to my Asus MemoPad 7, which works incredibly well, even in broad daylight, this thing is much worse. However, that being said, you can always get a sun shield to wrap around it and protect it from the sun coming in at an angle, which should help somewhat.

Did you check for keyloggers, if it's standard to have an administrator account already in the device before you buy it then they could easily install programs on it before they ship it out.

You do not have to to get a Chinese windows to reinstall windows on this tablet. I installed an English one on a Chuwi Vi8, and it did activate right away with no issues!
Does the device manager have the firmware for the system and device and the odd drivers? If so it's probably why...
