'Floatacious' - Nureyev wrote that he had learned from another dancer a technique for appearing to hover in the air for a moment. An illusion. I think I see it's done by holding an attitude mid air for a micro second. Its not about height .

It's hard - impossible? - to find a perfect dancer. Laurent Hilaire is more of a jumper than a turner and to be fair this variation is extremely challenging: double pirouette en dedans, the second starting from arabesque (like seriously?!)

Laurent Hilaire, Star Dancer, will leave at the end of the 2013-2014 season, his position as ballet master associated with the Department of Dance of the Opéra National de Paris, a position he held since 2011, and devoted to new artistic projects.
Clotilde Vayer currently Ballet Master, will assume the role of ballet master associated with the Department of Dance in September 2014. Aurélie Dupont , Danseuse Etoile, will, in turn, functions of ballet master at the end of the 2014-2015 season.

@@lindildeev5721 well. One has to marvel at this guy's exclusitivity......a "once in a lifetime" type of person......what a fascinating life.....I guess there is a reason behind extraordinary people who have relatively shortened lives. But do amazing things above and beyond the norm/average .

Aérien dans les sauts : je ne vois pas l'équivalent chez les autres danseurs il s'agit en fait " du temps dans l'espace " K Kim par exemple a des sauts très hauts mais qui durent moins longtemps dans l'espace , Hilaire est " Aérien " certainement une technique du saut que lui a transmis R Noureev ; jai du mal à m'exprimer je pense me faire mal comprendre d'après les réponses à mon comment ., il s'agit " du temps dans l'espace " la est le terme exacte je pense

The jumps are very slow and also very high ! ( in comparison with others dancers ) . Very slow Very high j don't see the same thing at Bolchoi to day : high and slow
Why compare apples and oranges? At Bolshoi is Grigorovich's choreography, here it Nureyev's,
