I’m giving away my age, but I got a blanket to take to college with S & H green stamps - I remember sitting there with a wet sponge in a saucer to paste the green stamps into the little books ! I think it would be fun to have something like that again now !

Mother collected green stamps and meticulously pasted them into the little books. She wouldn't let us kids paste stamps because she wanted them all perfectly aligned. She'd buy from stores which offered them because she was on a very tight budget and it was a way for her to get kitchen tools she couldn't afford on dad's pay. He worked hard as an auto mechanic and was very proud of the way of her thrift and how she took good care of our house and family. Yes, I'd like to see green stamps come back. Would be so much better than the digital "membership savings", etc. of stores now.
@@conniewojahn6445 Loved your story - I’ve read in WWII, there was a saying “Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without” - I think a lot of our families lived like that and probably more should today - greetings & blessings from sunny Central Florida ! ☺️
So much fun. And yes the green stamps.lol My mother had me help her place the stamps into the books. That was back in the 60's and 70's.
I love when you take us with you. So much gorgeous, rusty old stuff. It would be hard to pass on some of it but you know how to make gorgeous from anything. Love you and mom.

The working duck decoy at 16:35 on the counter was made by Hamiln Boat Works of Ludington, Michigan in the early to mid 1900's. My guess is it's worth about $35-50 today. I've seen them go for more in the past but who knows current price ranges.?? Thanks for the tour.

Melody, My daddy and I would get green stamps at our local grocery store and I saved and pasted half the night so that we could go to the catalog store and I got my first rod and reel for fishing.I grew up on a 440 acre farm with 2 lakes.My daddy was the greatest and taught me everything I know!

This was so much fun!!! Its always great to see you and mom having a ball!!! There was so much great stuff today. The old architectural pieces are my favorites. I even loved the little lambs!!! Oh the big bunny was too adorable.

Yes greenstamps!! With groceries so high they need to bring back that concept so you feel like you are getting something for your money.

Hey Kelly, what a great flea market. There were so many cool things to look at n if I was there n brought say $1000.00 to spend I guarantee I would of spent every cent of my money. I started watching your video the other day n got interrupted n I forgot to go back n finish watching it but I’m so glad you reminded me when you sent a comment. I even saw a few things that I have already. I just want to compliment you at how well you do the video at this n other flea markets, you don’t miss a beat. I have to agree that baby doll did need some clothes. I got tickled when you said that. Looks like you found a lot of good stuff. I saw two flashed glass pieces as you were swinging along. That's one of the many things I collect!---I'm not a fan of shabby chic, so anything that's been deliberately 'messed' with turns my eye away automatically. My idea of vintage is anything that could still be found on our ND Farmstead. Updating old stuff would mean refurbishing it back to what it would have originally looked like in my Grandparents & Great-grandparents day.---In my area, we have no flea markets. The closest one is about an hour away, on a Thursday! Garage sales are pretty much year round in our climate, but they're not well advertised, so it's pretty much just driving around town looking for signs on poles. Plus, I'm a Hospice nurse, I take call each weekend, & I don't go hunting, because I never know when I'll get a call to see a patient. If there's a sale on my route to see a patient, I'll likely stop on my way home again.---I'm checking your visits in reverse!---So, onward!

Omg I've been binge watching you and love love everything you do. It's right up my alley😂 Seriously just bought some Tea towels and wanting to use my stamps or stencils. Then I've been seeing ppl use reverse side printing paper. All great idea's and will work but when I saw your video on the Transfer paper and hot press I was like oh boy am I in trouble.😂 Unfortunately the 10% discount won't work anymore so I'll have to wait on purchase but I'm sold. I may need help on the whole printing transfer paper thing bc I've never done it. I wish we had these kind of places to go thrifting. Thank you for all the inspiration. Your mom is adorable.😍

My parents usually go to several antique stops in that area. I live further north, so i dont go there, however i do enjoy the one in Clare Yoders flea market, as well as the Petoskey flea market(happening this weekend as well as in august!) Also i like the Buckley Engine show flea market, Utica flea market, so many to go to!

The $10 'tool box' was a tackle box and the 'tote' was an old tool box. But whatever.
Some of the old wooden boxes were actually old sewing machine drawers, etc, etc.

@@FLEAMARKETRESCUE the M-15 yard sales happen once a year. This year it was May 7th and it takes place from one end of M-15 to the other end of M-15 Clarkston to Vassar. My mom and I go along the stretch of Goodrich and it lasts of all day!! We never make it anywhere else, lol. It gets super busy but it’s super fun and we get great deals!!
I love going here every year. Midland has 2 a year. Spring.summer and fall. I live around here and go all the time. This year it is $10.00 to go in but they gave a free coupon to get in the next day

I would BUY EVERYTHING! Most of all the wooden soda crates are my weakness. 😜I have a stack of them for kitchen storage, living room bookcases and another stack are used as drawers in the bedrooms. Those took some time finding the perfect nesting sizes. All I’ve done to clean them up is Murphy oil soap and on some I’ve tried to bring out the original design with furniture wax. Any suggestions ???
