OH....a mile long flea market sounds like fun!!! I have a bucket list, too! You have to do it, Dorothy!!! My mom is 74 by the way and we go to flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores....it's so much fun! You totally should do it, Dorothy!!! We're going to be going to the Midland Flea Market in June...it's here in Michigan and we're going back to Springfield, Ohio in September for the Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market. Question... when you say that you wouldn't pay a paid that was displayed, is it because you are a upcycler/reselling or is it that you just wouldn't pay that price for some things? The reason I ask is that I am considering reselling some things I upcycled and am working on my pricing. Thank you for taking us along and I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day.
Hi Rhonda...it's because I resell things and to get it at that price I couldn't make any money on it, so I would never pay that UNLESS it was something for me and I was going to keep it. But, like the little rocker that was $20...there is no money to be made on it and it was bright yellow, so I would have to paint it on top of it. Little rockers...I usually find them for $5 or at tops $10 and can flip them for $20. Now, the Vintage Ladder...as cool as it was...I absolutely LOVED IT, but I think it was $34-...see....I couldn't make anything on it...it would be too high priced by the time I added on money for me to make on it. So, it just wasn't worth it to buy. Anyway, that's why I said that. Hope that clears that up! XOXO

I went n Saturday with a friend and Sunday with my son and husband! I was in many of the booths your featured! Crazy to see it on video, like I was dreaming. My best find was an entire photograph albums of what I think is a girl’s travels in 1927. Looks like it chronicled a month long trip in cars, passenger ships on Lake Huron and Lake Erie and rivers in New York State and Canada. They were dressed to the hilt in beautiful dresses and cloche hats. I just don’t know who she was. No names at all.
I just love, love , love your channel. I've been watching it for 2 days now. LOL Not all at one time but every time I sit down I start watching and don't really want to stop. I just love your taste in decor it matches mine so I'm probably going to steal some ideas from you. LOL I'm trying to get started myself and I've already learned so much from you. Sorry to inform your mother but it’s not all a dollar anymore in the one spot area it goes to 1, 3, and at most 5 dollars sometimes 10 dollars depends on the item they changed awhile back. Yes Target does get rid of salvage items to Good Will and Salvation Army it’s not donated the stores bought it from a salvage company . I used to work at Target and did the pricing and a lot of salvage items . The items that don’t sell at Target on clearance once it hits 75 or in H&Beauty items 50 percent go to salvage and a company that has bought a target salvage comes and picks the pallets up and what ever stores have bought them will get it usually ours goes to Good Will and sometimes Salvation Army but Dollar spot items can either be included on the salvage items or destroyed by the store and then they get donated by our receiving head depends on the Target stores and the person in charge on the pricing department on what they want to do.
Can’t get the vision of your mother ripping off the sleeves of the guy in front of her as she fell, out of my mind and I am absolutely howling with laughter over and over. That is pure gold.

I had rollet skates lik3 thst as a kid. Loved LOVED ROLLER SKATING, NOW I WOULD BREAK MY NECK PROBABLY. LAUGHED AND LAUGHEd THE COMMENT ABOUT YOUR MOM AND THE SKaTES. I loved those skates.

I'm from Springfield! I now live in Cincy but plan on going! While you are there, Must go to Youngs a homemade ice cream Restaurant putt putt golf you can pet the dairy cows that made the ice cream it's pretty big and fun to go to in yummy ice cream. Also Yellow Springs is a cool hippie town that has bed and breakfasts places. It's a small town so book soon. ( Home of Dave Chappelle) Also I might get some mad but do not book a hotel for an exit south of there. It is an exit near but its the south end of Spfld kind of iffy. The cracker barrel is good to eat at ( same exit) :-). Info about the Springfield Extravaganza. HUGE! It's the Clark Co Fairgrounds but used to be an airport.

We usually stay at the Hampton Inn or the Comfort Inn, which is five miles away from the fair ground. It's right next door to the Cracker Barrel. It sounds like where you said not to stay. Eeek! Actually, we've stayed there every time we've went so far and we've been going for years. I still appreciate you giving us tips of where to go, especially with you being from there! Great finds Kelly n I had a super time following you around the flea market. ( gosh wish I was physically there) There were a lot of cool stuff n I saw so much of what I would of loved to have. I know I said this before but where I live we don’t have any good flea markets , thrift stores n sometimes I’ll get lucky at Goodwill. But I sure do love all the cool things you found. I have to say I love the birds you found. Must tell you why too. Your Mama got me hooked on them. From her first video you did of her. She had a few birds n I loved how she decorated with them n I was hooked. I find them n paint them white n use them in different things, cool huh? Tell Mama thanks for the in put from me. Oh my goodness all those washboards and stools,wouid be amazing and its inventory too,you can do all kinds if amazing things with those stools,many people are using little stools as those for the new tiered trays ( instead of tiered trays) and the wash boards pit 4 if them together and make a planter out of them!! Id of went broke inside of there,😍😍😍😍😍😍 ive got to come up that way, maybe thus September and then finding you for a Flea Market Rescue fans day,and picture!

I remember my mom having a washboard. She kept next to the bathroom sink. We were taught to scrub out our socks and undreware and hang them out to dry before they went in the laundry.
I want to try out making those bowl fillers. They are really pretty. I think that you soak the wood pieces over night to soften them and make them pliable.

Yes, I definitely get it from her!!! She can just look at something and envisions it in such a way that you are like, "OH WOW...that would be cool!" When she goes thrifting with her friends...they will have empty carts and say that they didn't find anything and here is my mom....pushing a full cart and even having a chair on one arm! LOL They are always so surprised....wondering where she found all that stuff when they saw nothing! She definitely has the eye! Anyway, thanks so much for taking the time to comment! What you saw in the cart is what she ended up getting at that Goodwill. She bought a few more things at the other Goodwill that we went to (The one where we had 15 minutes to run through because they were closing) but I forgot to get a photo of her finds that she found there! AwHHhh, thank you so much! No, actually I get it done at a place called Textured Salon, it's on 24 mile rd and Van Dyke in Shelby Twp. I like my highlights to look white...and she does a great job of it!!! Anyway, thank you again for the compliment!!! XOXO
Yes, it was so much fun! No...I normally don't ask if I can tape because I usually am doing a quick run through and it is more of a hassle to ask each booth and explain what I do. They look at me like I'm crazy. You know? I just figure is a public place....but if I really like their booth and want to spend extra time taping everything to show you guys...then I explain who I am and ask if they mind if I show their booth on my UA-cam channel. When I ask...I've never had anyone say no...they usually thank me for it, because it's added exposure to their business, however, when I first started though, I did have one woman from one of the booths ask me if I was taping for the flea market. When I told her no, she said that she would prefer if I didn't tape her booth. I should have explained to her what I was doing but I didn't and I didn't include her booth in any of my video. OH well...that taught me that if someone asks me what I'm doing...just tell them. I really never have anyone ask, though. Anyway, that was so sweet of you to say that you love my videos! Is the show only a yearly affair? If so when do they happen?
No...they have the Utica Flea Market three times a year. MAY 7-8 / JULY 9-10 / SEPTEMBER 10-11
How much was the little stools? And wash boards lol
I think the stools said $5 so that would make them $2.50 there and the wash boards were $3...so, they were just $1.50. I couldn't believe how much Target stuff they had there!

Hi Brigid! Yes, can you believe the ribbons....I LOVED THEM! The baskets are what caught my eye, though!!! I always see vintage fabric at the flea markets!
