  • Only 32.5% of employees are currently engaged and close to 2 out of 10 are actively disengaged according to 2016 Gallup research. Since our 2014 UA-cam video, "Who's Sinking Your Boat?" went viral, we simply haven't seen much improvement in employee engagement in the workplace - in spite of billions of dollars being spent on employee engagement in the workplace, and a vastly improved economy. Why you might ask? Watch our latest video "Why is Your Boat Still Sinking?" and you might just find the secrets to engagement. Based on Bob Kelleher's latest book, I-Engage, Your Personal Engagement Roadmap, and the latest employee engagement research from The Employee Engagement Group, Gallup, and many others (see sources below), we believe our latest video provides valuable insights for you personally, as well as for your organization.

Another fantastic video Bob! It will be interesting to see the cultural impact of Gen Y and the Millennial Gen employees on engagement given the clear shift to more personal accountability and responsibility for engagement. Thanks!

Hi Bob I love both videos. Thank you for sharing. As I did the math on the updated 2016 video I came up with 101% instead of 100% (32.5% actively engaged) (51% Disengaged) (17.5% Actively Disengaged). I wanted to give you a heads-up plus hopefully find out what numbers need adjusting. Thank you!

The truth is there aren't any great organizations, excellent leaders, or acceptable company "cultures."
This will continue to be the case as long as the only accountable class of employee is the individual contributor.

Hi Bob. Great follow-up video. You gave me permission to use your previous video, "Who's Sinking Your Boat?" for a presentation I did last year. I am doing a follow-up presentation this year and I was wondering if I could use this video, "Why Is Your Boat Still Sinking," in that presentation. Your videos are a great way to get participants thinking and engaged at the beginning of a discussion.

Ya blame it on the employees. Try working for a hospital that sells to a for profit. They fire 102 employees then run the show liek a fortune 500 company. People quitting in mass, 73 openings currenrtly just to be filled with people who will be in for a shock. Can't wait till i get a new job. Applying weekly.

The boat will sink deep into the mud at the bottom of the ocean. After forcing employees to participate in experimental medical procudures to keep their jobs its laying alongside the Titanic forever.

Typical management: blame the employee for his disengagement
