I was driving yesterday, my husband was rambling about absolutely nothing as normal, and then the radio station was "New music now by," of course I couldn't hear who it was because he doesn't shut up, so the music sounded really good, but had it at a low volume. Then the vocals started, and I heard Chester. My soul did first really, I got goosebumbs on my arms like I always do with his voice, but my head was saying no, that's not Chester. But everything else in my body said, yes. That's him. You know his voice anywhere. My husband was like what, when it turned it up, I threw up a hand and said shut up! My mind was raging a war within itself, I'm like that can't be him. He is gone. But I knew, I knew it was him. Then the vocals really started and my husband was like what, what is it? At this point I had accepted that it was Chester and I almost whispered, more to myself than talking to him, "That's Chester. Or someone who sounds just like him, damn like him. But no one sounds like him." At this point I'm crying like a bitch. My dream was when I hit 18 I would get to go see Linkin Park in concert, it'd be my first concert and the best thing in the world. I didn't get too. Then a few years later they were gonna be close enough, and I might actually make it, but sadly, that never came. I don't know why I mourn someone I never met or knew, but he helped me through dark times. I mourn him as if he were a dear friend.
Vamping Hour same experience right down to the rambling Husband and me trying to figure out who this amazing person was who sounded so much like my beloved Chester! Miss him so much.
there is more to this whole story that hasn't been told and i wish it never was or had to be , many of us who knew chester personally just where not able to deal with this very well , we all need the time to heal a little bit and except this is where we are again , chester was a huge loss to the many people along with the industry he did change in ways of videos and effects and so many other things he was interested in fighting for to make a better future for everyone any way he could , this song was no different , meant alot to him and myself at that time frame in early 2017 , wasn't intended to become what it did it just happen due to turn of events we had no control over but to watch in horror as it played out in our faces , chester then wrote it , but he struggled with it , he didnt intend to write what he did but there was no other options ,, it couldn't possibly be written any more clear than it is from what it was written from , i'm not sure if he even told mark morton the story or anyone from what i'm understanding , it affected him , i'm sorry we all had to see this legacy end on such a note , left some of us holding secrets we never wanted , do you feel the fans want the real story on this last lyric writing or is it best to just let it rest , that decision has not yet been determined , God bless you all for your kindness and words ,Amen ,
this hit me deep, I remember telling my father "what would happen of someone important died, like Chester" he gave me a wierd look I feel so bad for saying it
If this is the last song with Chester's vocals that surfaces then this is the perfect showcase of what his voice was capable of. Just another reminder that you left us way too soon. Miss you Chester 🤘🏻❤️
Exactly! I was just sitting here listening to it for the first time with my mother - and I was like, "Wow. Just in the first 50 seconds, he already displays the diversity of his voice." And then, of course, near the end of the song he does the belting and screaming, and jumps right back into a satin smooth vocal. Chester is incredibly gifted. The Freddie Mercury of our generation, hands down.
Holy shit, this song is so good. Chester on Vocals, Alex Bent and Paolo (Trivium) on bass and drums, and Mark on guitar. What an absolutely insane matchup aswell. RIP.
What a beautiful goodbye for Chester. We all miss you, this album is going to be absolutely killer and does more than justice to honour Chester’s memory ❤️
Dear @Mark Morton: you gave us the opportunity to hear Chester as a metal singer. Those screams are insane!! Thank you too much for this amazing piece of art that both of you recorded.
@@leeschofield488 Lol kid, nightwish has a female singer and chester is a dude...nice logic. And Iron Maiden? thats just classic rock and roll vocals with heavy metal music.
@@LucianC137 you kidding me? Lol Chester is amazing dont get me wrong but to reach the vocal notes that Bruce can reach, never would or could happen. However, as far as music styles you are right. Maybe a better vocalist if female would be arch enemy or straight line stitch to compare if were talking about screaming.
Chester had a talent that no one else could or ever will touch. His vocal abilities transcend what human beings can accomplish. His ability to condence his air correctly is like none other vocalist of our time. I miss him terribly. He truly was the best rock vocalist of this era. I don't think we will ever see it again from anyone else.

Chester is definitely among the best vocalists metal has ever known. And this song also featured one of the best riff writers. And one of the best bassists. And drummers. Every person involved in this song is at the absolute top of their game and by God it shows
This is to show those who said he's lost it. He never lost it, he always had it. The vocals on this are incredible. He could sing amazingly all the way, but it's amazing how great he remained at screaming too. Miss the guy a lot I feel like this is really familiar. Only heard it once when it got leaked, but the vocal melody in chorus, not sure if I heard it on a Linkin Park demo or Dead By Sunrise song or if I just remember it from this leaked song
The impact will continue to grow in our lives. We are all growing from and reflecting upon such masterful songs. He will be remembered as a 21st century prophet.
I miss Chester, not just his career with Linkin Park, and not just as an artist, but as a person. I never knew him personally, but learned to know what kind of person he was through his music and interviews and going to see shows that had him and Linkin Park and some solo gigs. Chester was an awesome dude, I literally grew up listening to their EP, then their first album Hybrid Theory; the rest was history. Ironically, Chester was a huge spokesperson that spoke out against suicide and self harm and drug/alcohol abuse, with some work within studying mental illness. Chester was an amazing individual and his lyrics literally pushed me through some of my darkest days of my life, I am so fortunate and happy I got to see him perform with Linkin Park and other artists in my lifetime. As sad and terrible it os to have lost him and how horrible it is that he took his own life, I hope he has found his peace and can rest easy now. I, and as well of hundreds of thousands of other, love you Chester and dearly miss you brother
I dropped some tears while reading this, bro. Subscribe to your every word, especially that part about darkest days of life. @@UchihaBroman Yes But people only talk about Hybrid Theory and Meteora? Why nobody knows The Hunting Party? That could be Hybrid Theory 2 I love all of Linkin Park music, it's my favorite band But i'd like to see Meteora 2

Would you all agree that Chester Bennington was one of the best singers of his generation a hell of a metal singer with a great melodic voice. The music from Mark is phenomenal good heavy riffs
If Chester and Mark could have made a entire album . I don't even know what to say . There would have never been anything like it . This song has everything ......definition of perfection .
And all that songs that never seen the light that were taken off of every LP, STP and DBS albums, i'm sure there are more songs with him, that we never heard.
I will never stop being amazed at how talents Chester was. Every single time I saw him preform it was excellent. Nothing is going to fill the void he left. RIp
His voice fits with everything tbh. A few years back I found out he was in STP for a while and he did a great job in that band. I was really expecting him to maybe be ok but he was amazing imo. This just shows that he could do anything.
Dhananjay Rana Cuz this is crap! Compared to classics like thank you, next and Gucci Gang, this sounds terrible! Gucci Gang is my favorite song and this is a waste of time! Said every ten year old who plays Fortnite and has no real taste in listening to music from actual legends. This is actually fucking great, as if he never passed on.
This song brings tears to my eyes. I can’t even talk about it because It feels like my voice gets stuck in my throat. I miss Chester so much. I didn’t know him personally, but he helped me so much more than I ever really realized until I found out he committed suicide. I’ve never been hit so hard by a death since I found out my dad died. I grew up in a broken home and Linkin Park was one of those bands that just stuck. It was my first hard rock band. I’m now a huge metal head, at 28. I still remember receiving hybrid theory when I was 11 at a Christmas function. I still have the cd because I cherished it so much. The two albums after that were almost always in my CD player and I would listen to them almost all day sometimes, just to block out everything else going on around me. . I’ve suffered from depression as far back as I can remember and have always suffered through suicidal thoughts. I think it’s why I took his death so hard. Hearing him again is bittersweet. This song is so heavy and exactly how I remember Chester, at this prime. I know he never knew me but I hope he knows that because of his suicide, I fight harder. His pain bled through everything and it made people like me be able to acknowledge their own loneliness, pain and depression. Thank you.
Same here. I tried, but failed, dragged into a hospital, being internalized... but all of this made my will grow stronger, then I decided to make music too. Chester showed me that being rich, famous, doesn't mean that you suppose to be happy. Or smiling. Since then, I respect every kind of pain, suffering, sorrow... nobody knows how it hurt, so nobody has to judge. May the music become the painkiller in my brain...
OMG ! I could have written it. Same feelings, (almost) same story. My dad committed suicide on the exact same date as Chester did (20.07), but nine years earlier... I f****** hate this date. I miss them both. Even though I did not know Chester personnaly, he was a part of my life. Artists will never know how they can sometimes help someone they never met, all the way across the globe, and change their life. (Please forgive any mistake, english is not my first language)
Chester showed me we can love a person we've never met. His death was a tragedy to humanity! His talent is not human and through all he's been through he lifted us from the dark times in life that are just unavoidable. I will forever miss him and I will name my next male child after him! RIP Chester, thank you for all you did!
The sad thing is, I have a sneaking suspicion that we lost Chester before he could do his best work. That's not to say that I thought any of his LP work was strictly speaking weak. I just feel like he was only going to get better with age, and he was taken from us too soon. I hope his family is doing okay these days.
TGX Game Reviews oh man. He had just hit his 40s. I’m willing to bet him doing this song was his entry into heavy metal. Imagine him doing music in the same vein of Randy Blythe? He definitely had the voice to make it happen. That would have been epic beyond compare.
No... Chester peaked, and he peaked well. He sang Numb perfectly just a few days before he died. He could not have improved at all. Mike, on the other hand, has come a long way. There is no limit to what he can do at this point.
His best work was Grey Daze, and maybe the first 2 albums of LP. LP was a notch down from Grey Daze as a band imo. Chester would have peaked way better in a better band with good instruments.
@@TheLegend-zq5kw hopefully he is headbanging again after he just did the music for money. linkin park just did mainstream shit music since minues to midnight
@@novanemesis9052 That's not weird! That's fucking awesome!! I seriously don't believe in death anymore, I think it's almost ignorant to. Death is just a word we use for, "We really don't know". Yes our body does friggin fall apart and become dirt...etc. But that's superficial shit, our body is a machine/vehicle and we are the drivers. There's too much consciousness to only have this one life, so it definitely wouldn't surprise me if we bumped into him after our time is up. I hope you got to sit down with him and talk to him. I saw him once, but I never actually got to meet him one on one.

But hearing about Chester's last song, I decided to hear it. LOVE IT. I loved LP since my Highschool days and that never stopped. RIP Chester Bennington!
I feel you. When Chester passed I couldn’t listen to One More Light or I would end up feeling sad and anxious at the same time. Fast forward a year later and I can finally bring myself to watch their live concerts on UA-cam. It still feels sad but I’m so glad to hear his voice again!
IrisMusicx , same here. I had several suicidal ideations since his passing and couldn't listen to their songs. However, this went away and I feel at ease listening to their songs again nowadays. Still sad that Chester is gone, but let's celebrate that he got us this far. Stay strong and let's keep moving on together.
I still cry from time to time when I listen to certain songs or watch certain videos. I miss him and his crazy ass ways. I know he battled depression, but I think there were SOME times he was genuinely happy. You know, cracking jokes, making fun of Brad and doing other things, especially with Mike around.
I cried the day Chester died and this song brought tears to my eyes again, but it wasn't sadness, it's because i'm so happy to hear his voice again...to enjoy his new music, and for a moment forget that he is gone. Thank you and R.I.P Chester Bennington

Vamping Hour I read the whole thing. Awesome :D
bless you all in this post , chester deeply loved his fans , they meant everything to him ,
there is more to this whole story that hasn't been told and i wish it never was or had to be , many of us who knew chester personally just where not able to deal with this very well , we all need the time to heal a little bit and except this is where we are again , chester was a huge loss to the many people along with the industry he did change in ways of videos and effects and so many other things he was interested in fighting for to make a better future for everyone any way he could , this song was no different , meant alot to him and myself at that time frame in early 2017 , wasn't intended to become what it did it just happen due to turn of events we had no control over but to watch in horror as it played out in our faces , chester then wrote it , but he struggled with it , he didnt intend to write what he did but there was no other options ,, it couldn't possibly be written any more clear than it is from what it was written from , i'm not sure if he even told mark morton the story or anyone from what i'm understanding , it affected him , i'm sorry we all had to see this legacy end on such a note , left some of us holding secrets we never wanted , do you feel the fans want the real story on this last lyric writing or is it best to just let it rest , that decision has not yet been determined , God bless you all for your kindness and words ,Amen ,

Exactly! I was just sitting here listening to it for the first time with my mother - and I was like, "Wow. Just in the first 50 seconds, he already displays the diversity of his voice."
And then, of course, near the end of the song he does the belting and screaming, and jumps right back into a satin smooth vocal. Chester is incredibly gifted. The Freddie Mercury of our generation, hands down.

Miss the guy a lot
I feel like this is really familiar. Only heard it once when it got leaked, but the vocal melody in chorus, not sure if I heard it on a Linkin Park demo or Dead By Sunrise song or if I just remember it from this leaked song
Can't believe he is gone he was one of the best vocalist of 21 century

Thank you.
Beautiful tribute. Keep fighting \m/
