- Today I journey to Lexington Cemetery in Kentucky to visit the famous graves of notable people buried in Lexington. Famous gravesites will include Jim Varney, John C Breckinridge, and Henry Clay. Check out the beauty and architecture of this cemetery.
O M G... I got stuck on a different sight...thank goodness I found you.
Thank you so much. I’m glad you found me!
I love how you have signs, back there, pointing to famous graves. I rarely see that in California. I think I mentioned before that Varney was on my list to visit on my road trip this summer, but I ran out of time. Hopefully, I'll get back there again, one of these days. Nice job, as always, Whitt!
Visiting Gravesites With Steve those signs are so helpful. I wish everyplace had them. Thanks for watching Steve. You’re awesome.

I didn't know 'Henry Clay was the FIRST TO "LIE IN STATE" at the 'Rotunda,' and I'm FROM KENTUCKY!!!! SHAME ON ME!!!!
Thank you so much for watching!
John Breckenridge joined the Confederacy when the Civil War started. Kentucky did not. He left Kentucky and supposedly got a heroes welcome when he came back after said war.
Hey Nick! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
Really loved the Jim Varney grave he was part of all our childhoods.
Yeah, he truly was. He was a great actor; even outside of the Ernest role. Thanks so much for watching.

Great quote. Very true. Thanks for watching.
Did you get locked in Hill Cave Cemetery in Louisville, KY? I believe you didn't know that it closed at 4.45.
Have you visited Daniel Boone's grave?
Yes, sure have. It was one of my earlier videos. I’d love to revisit.
Did you locked in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, KY during your visit???
Love these older cemeteries. The various styles of grave markers and all that history make them so interesting.
Ernest P. Worrell was part of my childhood! Sad that Jim Varney left us so young, and interesting that he was laid to rest among many historical figures. I'm guessing he was a Lexington native and that's why he is interred there? I'm an American history buff, and if I remember correctly Henry Clay ran for President unsuccessfully more than once. He was very ambitious and made many political enemies as a result. I'm also a big sports fan, so very familiar with the name Adolph Rupp!
Thanks so much for watching. I do believe Henry Clay ran more than once. He had a ton of accomplishments. I appreciate your comment.
I just don't love that you do things about are history. Just wanted to let you know we all enjoy you very much. Thank you every much
Question: Is there one cemetery on your bucket list you always wanted to visit but haven't?

Love that area of the country! Used to go through there often when our son lived in Atlanta. We are from the flatlands of Ohio so the rolling hills were refreshing to see. Thank you for taking us there! Very interesting!

Hello to Canada! I’m glad you’re watching. Appreciate it.
if you ever get the chance and your at Frankfort Cemetery there is a famous US Marine buried near Daniel Boone named Presley O'Bannon. Interesting story about him. And in Elizaville Cemetery in Fleming County is another Marine who was one of the flag raisers at Iwo Jima named Franklin Sousley. He was KIA on Iwo Jima less than a month later.
Check out my other videos, I visited Franklin Sousleys grave. It’s called my most emotional visit. I need to get back to Frankfort. I was in Bardstown today and almost went there, but didn’t. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.

How far back do the soldiers go from the cemetery?. Does it have both soldiers from the North and the South from the Civil War. Is Nancy Hanks buried there. She was Abraham Lincoln's mother.
