    Hmmmm I'm wondering if they say not to use waterproof liner bc it dries quicker?? No clue but it would be amazing if it worked. I know me, I would get way too frustrated trying this tool. So a big thumbs up to you for trying again and again 👍🏼

    Well, ya can't say you didn't try! I really don't like the way it looks at all. The shape is just off. I agree with that, and what you said about practicing. The way I started was just to do the tiniest little wing out. Then, I just extended it over time. I also think taking close up pictures of my eyes helps me to see where I'm going wrong. You definitely get an A for effort on this one, girlfriend!

  • @strgazr04
    @strgazr04 8 років тому +36

    Maybe try while closing the eye you're working on? Like you would while applying eye shadow. This way you won't blink. I dunno. Could be good as a guideline though. I have really hooded eyes with my left eye more hooded and downturned than the right, so I can never get the wings to look right.

    The logistics of this thing are just off, you can't make a flat stamp of something that has to be pressed on a curved bone, and also the middle of a squishy eyeball lol.

      thank you. From the time I saw it I knew it wouldn't work, not to mention that 3 types of stamps cannot fit the eye shape of thousands.

    I love the new Beauty Blender Liner Designer! I work at Sephora and it took me a long time to learn to do wings (on myself and clients) so the little tool definitely helps! You can do your liner, a wing, cut crease, brows, carve out brows, nose contour, lip edges (filling and shaping with concealer), and protect your skin when doing mascara on upper and lower lashes. I've tried lining with gel, pencil, and liquid liner and all applications have come out crisp. Those are the uses I've found so far, but I'm sure there are more! It is only $16 and it comes in the cutest case!!

    2 reasons I can think of off the hop as to the "why" on no waterproof product: 1) They dry too quickly to allow you sufficient placement time on eye, and 2) They may stain/harden the apparatus.
    Thanks for the info! I'll save muh dough! What does it look like if you stamp a card?

    You have to use gel. I am assuming the reason you can't use waterproof is because it dries too quickly. Using the eyeliner that you are using it dries too quickly. Also, keep your eyes closed... that way you don't blink?

    • @sonjam4780
      @sonjam4780 8 років тому +2

      same here, used both gel and liquid eyeliner, the gel was way worse

    • @FghjAbcd
      @FghjAbcd 8 років тому

      I hadn't thought of that! I was thinking you can't use waterproof because it might not come off the stamp.

    • @melaniecanatella5485
      @melaniecanatella5485 8 років тому +1

      Gel takes longer to dry in a lot of cases, so it will create something that will stamp. Now a days, everyone has the pens because they are easier and more convent, but for this tool, gel is the best bet.

    Thanks for testing out this product. But I was on the website and it says that you are not supposed to use waterproof and also on the instructions it says you are to put the eyeliner on the wing and not the whole stamp and simply roll it on there per Wings*Cosmetics

    i just bought these and i absolutely love them. they do recommend only applying the eyeliner to the wing and then finishing out the on your lid. I would definitely try that and then maybe the problem with blinking wouldn't create so much of a problem.

    I just wanted to take the time to thank you. By watching your videos, I have been able to do my bridesmaids makeup last year. The year before that my best friends wedding. Your channel has truly educated me on make up. I love your frugal Fridays, historical makeup, and high end vs. drugstore. Moreover, the fact you live in Florida, with the humidity, really tells me about the wear of a product. I live in Florida keys. Super muggy and extremely hot down here. We don't have Saphora, Ulta, or Mac... absolutely nothing. All we have is Kmart. Your review videos make if easier to shop online. So, Please continue the awesome work. Maybe if they had a thinner applicator like you said and they actually gave you like a liquid eyeliner in the stamp form where you stamp it into the pan and then your eye? lol it's interesting but does seem like it takes more time, it's seems like when people try to come out with things that is supposed to be a shortcut it ends up taking longer haha

    • @heidihawthorne
      @heidihawthorne 8 років тому +5

      +shdwstrm I was thinking about this. Gel liner is naturally drier than liquid liner (think about looking at it in a pot). You might be able to layer it more but it could end up just as patchy.

    This seems so gimmicky. We all have different eye shapes and sizes and are not all the same. • @bubblesbubbly8525
    @bubblesbubbly8525 8 років тому +2

    May I suggest trying it with a gel liner? It wouldn't dry so fast, you would probably have more time for placement and get all the product actually onto the eye so maybe you wouldn't have to fill it in.

    It makes me wonder if you need to use a gel or pencil liner instead of a waterproof since you said it tells you not to use it so that probably has a big difference in the end result. Following directions is key. Do you think if you close your eye to apply it so you don't blink moving the product on your eye would make a difference? Also so it isn't so dramatic, you don't have to color the whole stamp, it can be done thinner to get a less dramatic look. I have never used it nor do I own it but it just makes sense to me to adjust to get the look you want. But hey I never handled it before so who knows how it would work out

      Kandi, that's exactly what I was coming on to comment. Why would you continue to try to do it on an open eye, if it makes you blink? Also, if it's not working with waterproof eyeliner and the directions specifically say not to use waterproof, maybe try regular :)

  • @anamikaa
    @anamikaa 8 років тому +1

    I wonder if the non-waterproof stuff would have gone on easier? Perhaps the waterproof reacts with the rubber to dry it out. I do agree with you about the blinking- if something was coming at my eyes, my first reaction would be to blink and step back! I reckon a bit of practice or sticky tape!! :)

    • @NatashaDawn82
      @NatashaDawn82 8 років тому

      +anamikaa That's what I was thinking regarding the waterproof formulas. The non waterproof formulas are probably more wet so they may transfer better. Waterproof formulas always seem to me to be a little drier.

  • @senecaramirez7710
    @senecaramirez7710 8 років тому

    I've watched her videos and I've found if you line your top eyelid before applying the wing with the tool, that's how you do it. Loading the corner of the tool and rolling up, not loading up the whole tool with eyeliner and expecting it to turn out perfectly. My are on their way in the mail. (:

  • @SubversiveStyle
    @SubversiveStyle 8 років тому

    Yeah just get an angled eyeliner brush...I have the pointy kind too...I prefer gel or cream liner pots and also the pens, but the brush gives you the most dramatic effect, pens are easier to use if you're new I'd assume.

  • @daisylover80
    @daisylover80 8 років тому

    You could try starting with your eye already closed to avoid the blink, and I'm sure you could put liner just along the edge and not all the way to the tip of the winged portion, if you like a thin line and not such a dramatic wing.
    Even with all that said, there's still a small gap between the liner and your lash line (small, but noticeable). And after all that work, you STILL had to go in with the eyeliner and line to the inner corner and fix the rough spots.
    I agree with you-- practice, practice, practice! You don't need a fancy tool (that only does half the job, and doesn't even do that very well!) if you just give yourself a lot of time (and grace) to learn to do it right free-handed.

    You are supposed to apply only the wing part not the lid pard on the stamp I think

    they do two types. dramatic and more casual. maybe the waterproof eyeliner dries uo too fast?

  • @itsFlycatcher
    @itsFlycatcher 8 років тому +8

    Even if used correctly and it somehow works out on the first try, doesn't this waste a lot of product as is? That dried up residue left on the stamp itself would be enough for one more full application, at least, and with some eyeliners, making what little product is in it last is already a challenge. Not to mention the cleanup, having to trace it over to make it look even, and the fact that you can't really see what you're doing while you're doing it... Naah. Quirky, fun to try out once, but gimmicky.

    Apply with your eye closed, only use the wing, and use gel or non-waterproof liner. Waterproof liners tend to dry much, much faster than non-waterproof. It is also just a guide, and you go over it with your liner when you are done. I actually love this thing haha.

    liquid eyeliners dries instantly, can you try with gel?those are creamy and wont dry fast . let me know if it worked out 😘😘

    This looks like more trouble than it's worth, especially when you have to clean it everyday and go over the eyeliner again by hand. It's faster to just apply the eyeliner like we've always done. Anyway, thanks Zabrena for testing it out for us. Once again, you've given us another great video. Hugs :)

    I feel like you could probably put product on ONLY the wing and it might work out better, especially since most of us struggle with the actual wing itself. That being said, the shape of the wing would still have to be what you like for this to be good.

    What if you used the gel eyeliners that are out there maybe that would work. Would you be willing to do a video showing the use of the stamp with different types of eyeliner?

  • @jessd9350

    I know that this is an old video, but on the off chance you kept these wing stamps, you should get maybeline's master graphic eyeliner. It it really thick, it looks like a marker, and it doesn't dry like every other liner I've tried on those stamps did. Also I only fill in the wing part, not the whole stamp. I just use it as a guide, then fill the rest out by hand. the stamps took some getting used to, but now that

    I think the only reason why they say not to use a waterproof eyeliner might be so that if the user messes up, it'll be much easier to clean? Just a thought!
