They're so cute, they still hold hands, aww
I know right. So cute
I missed the part where Ron was going to explain how to build the design wall. 😂 you’re a good man Ron
🤣😂🤣
but we love to hear from Jennie occasionally
Ron didn’t say much. Lol
God Bless them both! I was waiting to hear what he had to say too! The smiles on their faces made it worth the wait even though he didn't explain anything! 🤣 They are an adorable couple! 💜
😂. Came to the comments to say the same. Jenny even answered the questions she was asking him before he had a chance to. Haha…. Loved his smiling face.
Love to see Ron's smiling face. He doesn't need to talk, he lights up the room. He makes Jenny shine. Good man!
Jenny says her husband makes the design wall, he can explain it to you... Jenny does all the talking. Well he has a nice smile.
Hands up who thinks that the pattern on Jenny's jacket would make a fabulous modern quilt...
plinkiplonk i was admiring it too 😀
Yes , it would ....💕
If it has pups ...
🙋🏾♀️
Do a little digging on Pinterest. I know I saw a quilt in that pattern somewhere!
I watched this video when it first came out. I showed it to The Hubs and told him I wanted a design wall for my sewing room in the new house we were having built. Finally, it’s going up tomorrow! Thanks Jenny and Ron for this awesome video!!
Loved the project but i really loved silent ron following you around. He's a keeper.
What a gentle man. You are a blessed woman.😊
I love this idea! But sadly I live in a rental where we can't use nails or screws. I'm sure they're are others watching with the same problem, so I wanted to give a helpful tip I learned from another UA-camr (Karen Brown of just get it done quilts) she uses a dollar store table cloth but make sure it's the table cloth with the fuzzy underside. They work amazing! I use blue tack (mounting putty) or even a couple pieces of painters tape. I hope this info is useful.
Thank you for sharing that helpful tip, Nicole! :)
I use the same tablecloth. On my widest window I open my curtains one to each side. Attached some curtain clips on the rod and hang the tablecloth from the clips with the fuzzy side facing the room. I pin my pieces in place and can squash it to the middle when it's time to close the curtains...or leave it there in place of the curtain. lol
Why dont you make the design board, and lean it against the wall. staple or tape your fabric to the back.
We all need a Ron, how brilliant to have him doing all these fantastic things!
Haha haha. ‘Ron’s the one who makes these, so we’re going to let him tell you all about it.’ Ron barely gets one peep in! “It’s foam insulation board, for houses.” Jenny does all the rest of the talking! Laughing my head off! 😆🤣😁😂🙃🤣
quilting must make happy couples because you both and Donna and Matt Jordan are always so sweet together.
I thought Ron would never stop talking! Lol
LOL!!
🤣😂🤣😂
Hahaha!
That’s just what I was thinking.😃
I wondered how many caught that!!! lol
My wonderful husband made me 2 4x8 design walls out of the same foam board and glued and stapled 2x4 boards completely around them. They are so sturdy. Then we took grey fleece and stapled that around on top of the foam. The design walls rest on furniture sliders so we can move them easily around my sewing room. I love the fleece as the fabric stays on the walls without pins. I can move my projects around so easily. I love these walls! After making 800+ face masks, I’m DONE and am so looking forward to getting back to my sewing and quilt projects. I’m from The suburbs outside St Louis and can’t wait to take a trip back to your beautiful Missouri Star Quilt Company! I love shopping there, but my credit card explodes at the end of two fun days in your 13 shops. Keep up the good work a Jenny and Ron, we all love you so much. ❤️👏🏻❤️👏🏻
Thank you. It’s funny how something so simple can seem so hard.
Great idea!!! Love how Ron just smiles and follows!!! You are both two cute...🥰
Thank you for this great video! My husband (who is not typically a handyman🫣) made me a design wall following your video! I love it! I am happy and he is so proud 😍
Jenny you said Ron was gonna tell us. Bwahahahaha!
Thank you so much! I appreciate Ron and Jenny taking time for Jenny to talk through Ron’s design wall projects. So useful and they look great!
Thank you Jenny and Ron for sharing.😊 You two are so sweet together. 💕
You two are the cutest couple still holding hands!!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Jenny is my FAVORITE on this channel. She is the cutest.
So cute to see you two together! Thanks for the video Jenny and Ron!
Yay Ron!
Ron’ definitely a keeper. Great smile. 🌺
Oh, how timely. My husband and I were finally ready to put up a design wall in our new home, but how to do it? Voila! MSQC puts up a new video on, yes! How To Put Up a Design Wall !!! How lucky are we! We went to Lowe’s , bought all the supplies, and in one weekend, IT’S UP! What a timely delight! Thanks Ron, and oh yeah, Jenny! LOL
Great info. Just laughed that he was to tell us about it and Jenny explained it. 😊
Ha. I thought Ron was going to talk. He is so handy. You need to give him some talk time.
You beat me to it.
My guess is that Ron is more comfortable letting Jenny talk and she would not want to make him uncomfortable. He's seems to be the kind, strong, silent, supportive, handy type.
Same
@@grandmajo4781 I agree....some guys marry gals that talk all the time like this. My sister's husband is like that. He is a really nice guy, but it's like pulling teeth to get him to say anything!
I was looking forward to hearing Ron explain. Oh well, he sure is a good sport.
Thanks Jenny and Ron. You look so pretty today Jenny! Love your outfit.
Ron reminds me of my husband: He smiles and listens! Thank you for sharing your design wall process!
Love the tutorial but love even more the holding of hands and how much you two shine together!!!
Ron is very handsome! Everyone needs a Ron. And watched for the design wall, and learnt to put the sides on first for the quilt. Thank You!
How cute you two are. 😍 thanks for this.
I LOVE LOVE Ron's smile! Your hubby is SO CUTE! Ya'll look so cute together. :)
i sometimes wonder if you know how much we all appreciate your imprt into our lives. I am in New Zealand watching you.
Near the end, the expression on "The Hubs" face looking at you. WOW!
I saw that as well. She is blessed.
Thanks for the video! Interesting to see how you make design walls. All I did was thumbtack 2 layers of king size batting (Hobbs cotton 80/20) to my wall. That’s it. May not even need 2 layers, but I like the thickness 2 gives. Quilt blocks cling to it nicely and anything heavy I pin to the batting. It’s been my design wall for many years, it went up in less than 5 minutes, I’ve made many quilts with it, and I already had the batting. And it can come down and go up anywhere. Easy way to have a design wall without needing to build one.
Thanks so much for sharing this. You guys are so cute and still holding hands! Love it. When I was dating my husband we were walking somewhere and I tried to hold his hand. He pulled away and said, people will think we are tourists. Never tried that again but we have made it 46 years so far.
I’m super intrigued by the antique iron collection in the background! I can’t wait until you open again ... I’m up for a day trip from KC!
Good work, Ron!
Ron knows his place, beautiful smile Ron just keep smiling
Great idea-thanks for the how-to! By the way, I love Ron’s smile and soft-spoken voice. Lovely couple, you two. ❤️
THANK YOU RON AND JENNY.
I just wonder how many of you had your husbands/sig others/ etc - build you a quilt wall today. I have a small sewing room, but decided to have mine built in my hallway. I can't tell you how many times I heard "that's not the way Ron did it"....LOL....I'm getting ready to add the batting! Thank you Missouri Star Quilt and Ron!
Me too, Debbie. My sewing room is stolen space under the eaves upstairs. My wall will also have to go in the hall.
How nice to see Ron! You seem like such a lovely couple.
Your husband is adorable....he just let you talk ... what a supporting guy!
Love how cute Jenny and Ron are together. Great video too. ❤️
Y'all are so CUTE! Holding hands and chatting as you walk. Love it.
Hubby is sweet. He follows you around like a cute puppy!
Nice demo Ron,lol love your tutorials Jenny.
Such a great idea of materials Ron used. I’m 😂, Jenny is just going on and it looked like Ron wanted to say something at the end! 🤷🏻♀️ I’m sure he is used to it. 💕💕💕💕🌸
So helpful! Please keep the “make do” tips coming. My husband and I are in the middle of raising 13 kids and can really use more “make do” tips!
How lovely to see the support act behind the star. Xxx
I kept waiting for Ron to talk. Still gave it a like though because Jenny is so sweet
I’m a fairly new quilter. When I told my husband I needed a design wall, he came up with the same idea as Ron! That’s Ben 6 yrs and it still works great! I just wish I had used a bigger wall .. lol
You guys are a very talented couple. God bless you and your family.
I want a second video with just Ron n the cameraman and the opener being...” now that Jenny has stepped out of the room, let give you some tips...lol.” That video is dripping with adoration for one another, so sweet , so sweet.
😂😂😂
you guys are soooo adorable!!!!!! great idea for a design wall!!! well done
Love the Design Wall AND your beautiful necklace, Jenny!!! Always wonderful tips and tricks!!!
So much talent in one family! Great job Ron 😃 💗 it!
Thanks for showing how to create your own design wall.
I did basically the same thing. I used 2" thick foam board. My wall is 6' tall and 6' wide and pieced with package tape just Jenny and Hubs did.
I attached it to the wall using Command Picture Hanging Strips, large size. I only needed 2 to hold the whole shebang up! It's nice and firm and there's no screw damage to the wall!
Marie Bartlett-Sloan, ooh, ooh, ooh! I love this idea, as I’m an apartment dweller! Did you wrap batting (and/or just flannel) around the edges before attaching it to the wall?
And how has it held up over time? Does the weight of fabric and quilt squares tend to pull it loose? Inquiring minds want to know, lol!
@@susanmei9980 I didn't wrap batting around the foamboard. Didn't think of it! In retrospect, I think the batting would help keep the flannel straight and tight. I just wrapped the flannel around the foamboard and used T pins to attach the flannel on the sides of the foamboard. That way I can re-stretch it if necessary. I put a length of scrap crown molding attached to the wall using Command Picture Hanging Strips as well. The crown molding is not as wide as the foamboard. The foamboard stands on that for a little extra support. Not sure if it was needed. Each picture hangng strip is supposed to hold 16 lbs. The entire 2" thick foamboard, with is 4' by 8', weighs just under 8 lbs so the strips ought to do the job for the long term. My design wall has only been up for a month. Re. the weight of the quilt squares, not a problem! I have organized entire tops of 12" squares on the wall and they have stuck there for days. Re. rows of blocks, I keep running out of hands and my arms are short, so I use the occasional pin to keep rows on the wall. BTW I bought the gray grid flannel from MSQC. It's a good quality flannel. I used the grid on the flannel to piece it to fit my design wall. Easy peasy! Re. cutting the foamboard, the pink product is scored every foot lengthwise and can be cut with a serrated knife, tho that leaves lots of styrofoam bits on the floor. Ask the hardware guy for advice on what to use to cut it. Also see if the hardware store can cut the board to the size(s) you need. Go for it girl! You will LOVE having a design wall!
Hey.. My "design room" is green too!👍💚
Looking forward to having Ron come over and build mine for me!😂😂👍💚
Jenny is the best! Ron is the bestest!
Thank you Jenny and Ron for giving the tour and tutorial. My husband Mike and I just finished creating my design wall. 😊
Clever design boards. I love your sweater, Jenny. Thanks you two!!
Sheeesh Ron....let the girl talk. 😂😋 Thanks for this video!
Thanks Jenny for this tutorial. It so nice to see Ron too!
Gosh! Ron is a wealth of information! Lol
Thank you. Forwarding video to my husband so he can build me my very own design wall.
Love how easy it is. Thank you Ron & Jenny
I use the foam insulation boards (have for over a decade) but I do not attach to the wall. I lean it up against the wall so it is movable. Even if I don't want to move it around much, I like that I don't have to put holes in the wall with screws. It has never fallen and I like that it is slightly titled as the fabrics (especially once you start piecing and they get bigger and heavier) are far less likely to fall off.
Thanks for sharing these tips! :)
Omg..that was hilarious…He said nothing 😂😂. God love him.
Love Love Love your videos and your sweet online presence!!
Of course Jenny's jacket would make a fabulous quilt. I hope she does one it will be great. Good idea plinkiplonk !!!!
Ron, you must work on that talkative habit you have❣️. Lol. Love Jenny and her family and all the good information they give us. ❤️
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I know it’s been 2 years ago, but we just used it this weekend! My husband made me one for my birthday this weekend!
Thanks Jenny and Ron. I see Ron is the "silent" partner! LOL. What a great idea someone gave in the comment section to use Command Tape to put up the foam board.
What a great pair you and Ron are Jenny. Let him have a go at talking though Jenny he’s really funny. ❤️🥰😂
That is quite an operation your family has going there. Very impressive. That would just boggle my mind with everything you have to do. Thanks for sharing this very valuable information.
Love it! Thank you Jenny and Ron.
You two are the cutest. And very helpful. Thanks so much.
Another great one and lovely to put a face to Ron😊
Thank you so much for this video! Now I know what I need to do in order to get my own design wall built...love you guys! 👍🏻👵🏻
Thank you Jenny and Ron! Chris-Raleigh NC
Im a broke renter so i just used push pins to hang up some cheap flannel as a design wall. Love the professional ones though
As Jenny says ‘make do’👍🏼😎
I found a denim shower curtain at a second hand store for cheap, so ibought a long curtain rod to hang it. It covers my spare room window and the wall behind the little radiator next to the window. Im going to use safety pins to pin things up. I think it will do just fine.
Loved seeing this! Had my husband watch it too. We had to chuckle because we are the same way - l seem to run ahead with the talking, but he does all the grunt work :)! You two did beautifully with showing and explaining - and to think we were up in that room just 1 year ago, so can picture how far you have come in settling in - with Misty now too. I feel like setting up my sewing machine right beside all of you :)!
I purchased a sheet a few years ago from Lowe’s. I sprayed adhesive on the board then put batting on it and wrapped it to the back, then I put it on the wall. It’s great because it’s so light.
haha so much for Ron telling us how to make them. :-) That's ok Jenny. I do the same. But Ron does seem like a sweet and handy man to have around. :-)
love you all
What a great tutorial! I’m making a sewing room in my basement and now I understand how to make a design wall! ❤️🥳❤️
Thank you
Great couple and video!
Thank you Ron and Jenny. It looks easy and affordable.
Did you see the love in that sweet man's face? My hubby is just like that.
I am blessed with one as well; better than the sun rising in the morning!
Did you see how Ron held Jenny's hand as they were walking to the next building? He's such a sweetie....
That is great. Thanks for the tips!!! I love the grid flannel.
놀랍습니다
beautiful🤩
LOL I love this channel. This is so awesome for storyboarding, as well!!
Thank you for so much information on quilting Jenny.
Thank you sooooo much.
